help out a fellow fisherman?
Hey everyone, I hate to do this but I'd love to win a pair of iPads for me and my girlfriend. We entered this cutest couple thing a few radio stations are doing, they're combined, but can vote on each website. The winners get 2 iPads, one for the guy and one for the girl. You can vote once on each website each day until the 18th, but even if you just voted once on one website just today I'd greatly appreciate it! And you can't vote more than once with the same email address on each of the websites. You can use the same email for each website though, just only 1 vote per website. Me and my girlfriends number is 577. http://1057now.clearcontests.com/front/OpenContest.asp?Action=Login&SurveyID=116468&zx=498 http://wmagradio.clearcontests.com/front/OpenContest.asp?Action=Login&SurveyID=116461&zx=490 http://wtqr.clearcontests.com/front/OpenContest.asp?Action=Login&SurveyID=116471&zx=574 http://rushradio945.clearcontests.com/front/OpenContest.asp?Action=Login&SurveyID=116470&zx=1126 http://ihaveabuzz.clearcontests.com/front/OpenContest.asp?Action=Login&SurveyID=116473&zx=151 For whoever votes thanks a lot! I really appreciate it! Oh and just to be safe, not sure if it matters or not, but use a zipcode of... 27040 or 27104

kayak suggestions
Yeah the Coosa looks perfect for what I'll be using it for and I just fell in love with it after checking it over at the store. Plus it comes pretty equipped for fishing, only really need the safety and paddle gear really which shouldn't be but a couple hundred more. Maybe in the summer think about adding a fish finder, but for right now I think I'll just mount a waterproof camcorder on it. Thanks for the advice guys!

kayak suggestions
Well now I've started looking at the Commander 120, the Coosa, and that Caster at 550 sounds like it'd save me a lot of money. I really like the Coosa though, and they have one at the great outdoor provision I'm going to go check out after work.

kayak suggestions
Well, since I'm not sure about what the difference in sizes is, it's hard for me to say what size I want. I'm going to be using it in rivers, and small lakes. Not sure what else I can give since I know next to nothing about them as well. I know that SOTs are better for fishing so that is preferred.

kayak suggestions
I'm looking into getting a kayak before it warms and want something I can take down rivers and small lakes. I really don't want to spend much more than 500, but am open to options. I did a search and came up with some but when you know nothing about them the abbreviations and numbers really get confusing. Plus not knowing any good sites to look at them doesn't help. Thanks!

need some help with my speech
I mean I'm no pro at it but I do know what I'm doing with it but your right it is difficult to just think about what I'm doing when I do it. Thanks for all the help guys.

need some help with my speech
It really is a short time that's why I figured I could easily take up that time teaching how to cast one without backlashing but then turned out harder than I expected. I think now I'll be fine if I just do those 2 steps elaborate on those then go into detail about how to easily get a backlash out when it does happen, since it does still happen every now and then.

Yeah that's what I was planning on doing. We are required to bring in 2 visual aids so a reel was the first thing I thought of. Another question. I remember reading when I first learning how to use one that the brakes help control the spool while the lure is mid air and the tension knob helps control the spool when the lure lands in the water.

5-7 mins. These are some good ideas guys, I wish I would've given her a more broad topic though to start with. I guess I know now for my next speech. I think I'm just going to use those 2 steps, and then go on to say how everyone will backlash every once and a while no matter how familiar you are with the reel, and then talk about some ways to easily get rid of backlash. Thanks for the help guys.

Yeah like not flicking it, just kind of using your arms? I don't really know how I'd stretch that out and explain it though.

That would have been awesome, but she said we can't change out topics after we have given them to her so it's set in stone. :-/

need some help with my speech
Hey guys, it's been a while since I've been on here just been busy with work and school. Anyways for my public speaking class, we have to write a process speech to present to the class. I decided to do mine on how to cast a baitcasting reel. I'm just trying to decide how to word the steps and make it into a lengthy speech. So far my steps include; adjusting the reel according to the lure, keeping your thumb over the line while it is in air and pressing down on the line when it lands. I can't think of any other steps to include. For every step I have, I have to have 3 supporting sentences and 2 details for every supporting sentence. What am I overlooking that a newb would need to know when learning to use a baitcasting reel?

which CI4?
I'm buying because I held one in the store and haven't held another that I like better. I've already gone through the options and almost got a SOL instead but eventually decided on CI4. Thanks though.

which CI4?
Thanks guys that's why I asked. I figured it'd be easier casting with the smaller but wanted to make sure! Thanks again.

Re: Dobyns Savvy Series
I really like them especially when you can get it for around 120-130 like I did. Very lightweight and balances perfectly and is plenty sensitive.

which CI4?
I think I might finally order a CI4 for my DX702sf and can't decide if I need the 2500 or the 1000. I'm going to put 6lb flouro. The 2500 seems like it might be over kill, but I don't know. Thanks guys.

revo sx
Weren't the only differences between the old SX and the new one purely cosmetic? Bent handle/drag star and some red added?

Re: Turn off your ceiling fans.
I've done it before to a cheap rod, but it didn't break it. I have been extremely paranoid though about my 744 champion extreme because its so long and my fan in my room is always on high. Also my dx702sf has such a soft tip I know if it gets in that fan it'll be a goner as well.

Yellow and chartruese on crank baits
I fish fairly clear water, yet one of my favorite cranks to fish there is blue back with chartruese body.

Backdraft...The real thing on video
My dad has been a volunteer since he was 16 and luckily never experienced this. He has always warned me about it though if I were ever in a house fire.

The bait monkey ain't happy. But I am.
He doesn't need to, this post alone should make up for those extra packs! ;D I'm curious as well. Why don't you just post the name of the place up? Customer service that great needs to be recognized.

Paranormal Activity
You don't think this was based on true events and had footage from an actual event that happened do you??? Hahahah no no no. But I believe in stuff like that. When I watch a movie I get into it though, and don't sit there thinking the whole time about how unrealistic something is or how that could never happen, or wow these guys are just acting this could never happen. They build it up that's why it takes so long to develop. Anticipation was the key money maker in this movie and those who watch a movie and think the things I mentioned above then it's going to be a let down. For those that get into it and like to see a story develop will like it. Like bass-brat said, it's in the eye of the beholder whether you like it or not. Just those that watch movies only for the action, jump at you scary scenes, nudity, and not for the story line, then chances are you won't like this movie.

Modern Warfare 2
x2 I bought a brand new one that a guy won for 100 dollars cheaper than retail and when I finally sold it I got all of my money back. haha

Paranormal Activity
Yeah, but that's what is so scary about. It's actually realistic (in my mind) in the fact that it doesn't show something happening every 5-10 mins it's built on anticipation, which is scarier than something happening. The producer was a genius because he used that so well. You're right about the first trailer with actual footage it showed too much. Those saying it was bad and not scary, were thinking way too much about it and weren't getting "into" it.

Chigger craw
I didn't have much success with them, so I bought some rage tail craws and they produce a lot more than my chigger craws did.
