Do you fish clear or stained water? If it's even somewhat clear you need a leader. No you don't. Well that's debatable. I know based on when I using 30lb PP for a long time I NEVER caught a fish with it and I fish fairly clear water. I put on some YZ Hybrid and suddenly started catching fish using the same lures/techniques that I was when I used braid. I know it's not the problem of when I was using braid I just couldn't catch anything, because I used it for so long and when I used another rod without braid, I could catch fish. I'm just saying it's going to keep me from ever using braid without a leader in clear water. I mean maybe if you're using reaction baits, it wouldn't be as big of a deal to use braid without a leader.

I can guarantee the Stradic CI4 won't be on sale, but I'm going to trade in a reel and at least then I'll get I think 40 off. So that's pretty solid. Plus it's probably going to be a while before tackelwarehouse has another 20% off.

I had the Megaforce for a while and it's an awesome reel for 60 dollars. Casts great and is very smooth for a 60 dollar reel, but the twitchin bar broke on mine making the whole reel unable to be used. All the twitchin bar does is add unnecessary weight to the reel.

:o Is there any way to see this flyer on line? I've been trying to find it on their website to no avail. Are the Extreme and Pro Qualifier reels marked down also? Yeah both those reels are. I think 20 off each? So 80 for PQs and I want to say 70 for Extremes? Something like that.

Oh good, I didn't read all of it when I first posted (newbie mistake :) and then felt bad after I read they were being donated. But now that you say that, I don't feel as bad for thinking about trading in my 'fixed' reel. I have a couple cheap spinning reels that I never use that I'll probably donate instead now though. I hope they have the CI4 in stock!

I have a premier for cranking and love it, but I just got my Savvy today and so far it seems pretty amazing. Extremely light and well balanced and looks great. If you can spare the extra money go for the Savvy. Especially since it's only a little bit more I'd say it's worth it but the premier is a good rod too if you can't spare the change.

I thought it gives you credit based on how much your reel retails for? So if I were to get 170 dollar reel, and traded in my Black Max I'd get 30 dollars off? That makes no sense to me. And now after you say that I read the bottom and it says they will be inspected, AND they're being donated so it'd be a ****** bag move turning in a crappy reel so I guess that's a no on the Megaforce. But the Black Max works fine for now so I'll probably still take that one.

So I was thinking I'm about to have 2 reels that just sit around, but they're cheap reels, one that's about to crap out, and one that broke and I 'tried' to fix. The one that is about to crap out on me is the Black Max, which is a 50 dollar reel which means 10 dollar credit which I'm sure they'd take. The one that I 'tried' to fix is what I'm wondering if ya'll think they'd accept for not. It's a Daiwa Megaforce w/that twitchin bar thing. Well the twitchin bar got stuck and it wouldn't let the reel work at all, so I figured instead of trashing it might as well try and see if I can take that bar off. So I went in there and ended up getting it off, but in the process some parts came off that I didn't know where they went. haha So i put it back together, and it casts just fine, but it has some resistance when reeling back in and after you cast you have to manually push the thumb bar back up because it doesn't automatically when you just start reeling anymore. Anyways would they still take this and give me 10 dollars credit? I mean it looks fine, just doesn't have the twitchin bar and a little harder to reel in. Would it be a waste of time taking it?

Doesn't say, I'm guessing since they were on sale when they first came out they won't have them on sale for the classic.

Got mine today! PQs are going to be on sale along with the Carbonlite reels. I might have to pick up a carbonlite with it only being 90. Also RCs are going to be 12 and pointers will be 20% off. Square As will only be 2.24! BPS 360 and 370 boxes are 5 for 10. XPS flouro will be buy 2 get one free, which I need 2 spools of flouro anyways so that works out good. That's about all I was interested in, but there was a lot more.

I take that back, UPS isn't dumb! My rods came a day early! This Savvy rod is sick! It's super light and balances perfectly with my Curado E7. Looks very nice and will probably be buying more for stuff that sensitivity isn't a must, although I'm sure it will be plenty sensitive as well. I got the ss663c for jerkbaits/spinnerbaits and the constant casting and working the lure is going to be a breeze with this light of a rod. I might have to get a new SX to pair it with though they'd look gorgeous together!

Well I wasn't in a fight, but it was close enough to where I was almost positive these guys were going to beat the heck out of me. hah I just turned 16 a month or so in, and me and my friends had been going to hooters like every Thursday, Friday night? Anyways, we get in there and sit down and this is with about 5-6 of my friends. So beside our table is this OBVIOUS drunk guy w/his girlfriend and other guy friend. Mid 20s I'd say. Anyways, it was hard not to look at him being an idiot and when his girlfriend (who wasn't even that attractive) walks by, he thinks were all looking at her. So he starts talking crap to me and my friends saying yeah I would stare too ya'll wouldn't ever get anything like this and stuff of that nature. Well me, being with 6 friends, and him only having one other guy PLUS him being wasted drunk, felt like I wasn't going to have that. So my smart self, decides to start talking crap back and not only that, but about his girlfriend. I said a couple things and he argued back, then I said something that I won't say on here just because it's pretty vulgar and he stood up, along with his friend, and acted like they were going to come at me. My friends sit there as if they were watching someone crawl out of their grave, while this guys GIRLFRIEND (who I talked crap about) held him back. Needless to say, I wasn't very hungry after that. I will say the crap I did say about his girlfriend wasn't looks, mostly assumptions.

Dumb UPS, I'll have mine Wednesday along with my dx744c, and of course I'll be gone snowboarding all day so won't see it until night. I can't wait to check it out though and compare it to the extremes I have. We keep getting crappy weather though so I won't be able to fish it for a while.

It'll hold up for a little while, but don't count on it season after season. I used mine quite a bit when I first got into baitcasting and this fall the anti-reverse started crapping out. Sometimes it'd work and sometimes it wouldn't. If you only want a temporary reel it works great, just won't last you.

casting 6'6" M Fast 7.1 10-12lb yz hybrid

Has anyone used these? When I ordered at BTD last week I got 3 of these along with some other brands. I ordered these because they looked about like what I already like using, the Booyah boo jigs, except a lot nicer. When I got them I was even more impressed. They look sweet with that living skirt and I love the way the rattles are, even though I more than likely will take them out anyways. I can't wait to try them. I just wish I ordered more of them now. :-[ And no I don't flip, I just like the way their head is shaped. They come through weeds/grass or whatever easily.

I'd just use one rod with a snap on it for everything the rod is rated for and you can use snaps with, and I'd use one for texas rigs. That's what I did.

all casting rods are 9 to 11 inches up when you do that.they are all tip heavy which is why i balance all my rods.the 7 foot MBC70MHF weighs 4.6 oz. , hardly what i'd call heavy. i have the MBC70MF, and the MBC70MHF and without the reel theyre about 22". its by far the most tip heavy rod i have. also, i never stated anything about the weight of the rod, just how the rod balances. if you like them thats fine, but a tip heavy rod to me is annoying. Are you measuring from the reel seat? Or the butt of the rod?

x2 By the end of the summer I think I'm probably going to have a bunch of different colors and sizes. Also you can get used Matts hard gill for around 40 shipped those are pretty awesome too.

I think memorial day will probably be the next one. Someone emailed them asking for upcoming sales and they replied saying they didn't know of any coming up so it won't be anytime soon.

Hahaha that's hilarious. I can't believe how calm the guy was after it happened WITH the same geese right near him. I would've wanted to kill that thing. haha
