  1. I just bought a Dobyns Savvy Series 663c specifically for jerkbaits/spinnbaits/lipless cranks a couple months ago and it works great for these applications. Right at your price range.
  2. Neither, it's just stuff that could really happen to you. Freaky movie, the people that didn't like it or weren't scared of it probably don't believe in that type of thing, or they are just trying to be hard aces. 8-) haha
  3. I haven't found a single BPS hardbait that are worth their money. Even the 3 dollar cranks. The only BPS brand I think are worth what they cost is their stik-os at 5 dollars for like 20.
  4. Alright figured it out. This is what threw me off, and now helped me realize where I went wrong. ;D I thought this meant he was able to get a new pet, which meant a dog that he could take to the bank and stay with him while he fish, or something for his wife to keep her company while she gardened. Could've happened to anyone! :-[
  5. Are you joking or just that lost ? I'm that lost. :-[
  6. Those things suck to take care of. When I was little my sister wanted one so bad it wasn't funny. So my parents come home with 2... They stink so bad.
  7. My Spro Aruku Shad and TN/70 always out produce my XR50s. BUT, when they don't take the Aruku or tn/70, they usually will take the xr50.
  8. I agree. I have a 744 and it seems like the 4 powered Dobyns can handle most anything.
  9. All i know is do not buy the BPS scale. Don't have any experience with the other scales.

Also would like to add, Steven Spielberg, I think. Maybe it was some other big shot producer. Anyways he got a copy of Paranormal Activity to check out, and while he was watching it a door in his house slammed. It scared him so bad he took the DVD out side and threw it away in his trash can.

And all of these posts sharing "experiences" of ghosts are the reason that the movie Paranormal Activity scared me. I know it's a fake movie, but I believe things like that go on. I personally have never encountered one, thankfully, but my grandma has told me a couple stories but only one I can remember clearly. She told me this after I watched Paranormal Activity because I joked with my mom saying I was going to buy a wigi? board. Well even though I wouldn't just because I was too scared myself, it scared my mom so bad she told my grandma. Well my grandma, who would not lie to me about something like this, especially at my age, told me about her friend that she worked with. My grandmothers friend was married to a man that loved magic, just as a hobby. He loved all that fake stuff where you trick them and did little fake shows every now and then. Well there was a like magician convention thing going on and him and my grandmas friend went to it. Well there was a shop there where you could buy all of these magic things and my grandmas friend noticed a book titled, How to have everything you want. She thought it was funny and bought it and started reading it. At the beginning the book said something about how you must read every single chapter for it to work. Well she started reading it and read it for a while and then she got to the second to last chapter. At the end of this chapter is said now on the next chapter you will feel a presence with you in the room and to keep reading until you finish the last chapter. My grandmas friend of course like anyone thought it was a joke so the next night she started reading the last chapter, and she felt like something was there with her. She was so scared she stopped reading right after she felt that presence and threw the book away. I always believed in ghosts and stuff like that before, but my grandma just made me scared of it. ;D
  12. Usually a 4in BPS Stik-o on a 1/16 shaky head. Seems to always produce. Lately though, it's been my Spro Aruku Shad in perch color.
  13. You can't really tell about sensitivity in the store, but you can check the weight, balance, and just how it feels in your hands.
  14. Actually I do have chem lab every tuesday morning, except for this week. But I don't think I've ever seen anything like that in there. I'll just try a couple different weight scales for people and put my thing of plastics on there and then weigh it on my scale to see what kind of difference I'm looking at, then divide the actual into my scale and I'll be able to know what I need to multiply by on my scale to get the actual weight.
  15. And right about now I feel like an idiot. Just checked the reviews, and other posted saying it was way off. There went 15 dollars I could've spent on another 1.5. And of course I don't have the receipt anymore. Maybe since it's a BPS brand, they'll at least give me credit. I might be heading back this week anyways.
  16. It's a cheap little BPS brand. I'd probably go ahead and take it back but it's an hour away. So taking it back would only pay for the gas. But yeah you can have 2 modes. One will measure in lbs and ounces it says and one is in kgs. Well the tackle bag on your moms scales doesn't add up but if your bass scaled at 1:14 that's close to your guessed weight 1:14kg=2lb8oz. idk, weird. That is weird and I even thought maybe who programmed it just had the things flip flopped or whatever but when I weighed stuff in kgs it definitely wasn't lbs. Here is the fish it said was 1:14. 2lbs 8ozs sounds about dead on.
  17. That's not an opinion, it's fact. ;D I have 2 St. Croix medium powered rods at 1/4-5/8. One I use for t-rigs and the other I use for shallow crankbaits. I have a medium powered daiwa that's 1/4-3/4 that I use to use for jigs, now it'll probably be my topwater. I have a med/heavy powered Dobyns that is rated 1/4-3/4 that I use for jerkbaits/spinnerbaits/lipless cranks.

  19. Well I weighed my tackle bag on it and the scale said 5:96? I knew it was way more so I went downstairs to my moms scale and it weighed 19 lbs? My moms was accurate with my weight, but 19 sounded a bit over kill. But it is extremely heavy so I'm not sure. I do know I caught at LEAST a 2lb bass today, probably pushing 3 and it read 1:14. I'll post a picture soon. So I figured if my moms scale is right, then everything weighed on my fish scale should be multiplied by 3, which would make a WHOLE lot more sense.
  20. I vote Dobyns Savvy as well. It feels as balanced and light weight as my Champion Extremes. Awesome rod and plenty sensitive and it's right in your price range.
  21. That is a solid deal. Hope to see some Citicas soon! ;D
  22. That's exactly what I was thinking. Seemed stupid to tell me it measured lbs and ounces when it did that. Plus it even says under where the lbs are and where the "ounces" are. But yeah I've looked the manual over and it doesn't say anything about it.
  23. Oh good I figured it was just because I got the cheap BPS brand. It was on sale for only 15, so I had to. Thanks for the help!
  24. Alright I'm pretty sure on what it's saying, but I just want to make sure. It says it reads lbs and ounces, and has 2 spots for the lbs, then it has this : with another dot above it, so 3 dots, then it has the place for ounces and says oz under. So I figured it would go up to 16 and go to the next pound. Well I was check it with some stuff in my room and when I weighed something one came up :40. So I'm guessing this is 4 tenths of a pound? One thing read 5:96. Again this could only mean it's 96 hundreths of a pound? So basically I won't be able to know what exacly the ounces are?
