Shimano Cumulus
We tried for different names but it's difficult to find names like cloud names that have not been used. I did not come up with it. I wanted to call them the Canis rods and bring back that series of rods. I loved them and still own several. Maybe my race car referecne as not ideal because of the name. In my head that is what I was thinking when we built the rod. I spec and test the rods. The rod manager comes up with the names. We do not offer custom colors or finishes on the rods unfortunately. It is actually a not that easy for us or our factory. With all the production schedules throwing in an extra rod or two with a different finish is not that simple. You could get some light sandpaper and a can of Krylon. Then it can be any color you want We went away from the badge cap because everyone is doing it now. We went with the tear drop instead. It also shaved quite a bit of weight off of the rod. I'm sure we will expand on the series at some point. Right now we kept the SKU's down since it is such an expensive rod for us and getting the components (guides) has been tough. We will be exapnding the Cumara series more this year. I am actually working on some currently along with some other projects.

Shimano Cumulus
The reel seat is similar to the Cumara but the threaded portion is different. There are no exposed threads when you tighten down the hood. This makes it much more comfortable in my hand. As far as I know these are the lightest production rods. I am not saying there are not lighter rods available through smaller manufacturers. The boys at TT checked against their list and said they were the lightest they have seen. You will see there is no badge on the butt end of the rod, no aluminum appearance parts, no paint on the top section of the blank (like the MBR GLX models ),etc; This is a pure lightweight rod built for performance. Anywhere weight could be shaved and made sense, it was done. We make ultra lightweight reels that deserve an ultra lightweight rod to be mounted on. Aluminum parts are mostly for appearance anyways. In some rods they do add to the balance of the rod. On others it just adds something shiny or colorful. They add cost and weight to the rods. We wanted to maintain the pricing that we set for these rods. We also wanted the rods to be light. So we eliminated all the extra weight we could. Think race cars.

The random red fade is different on every rod. They are hand painted do there will be some slight variation from rod to rod. They look really good in person. There is some red pearlescent up in the epoxy coated section above the reel seat as well. It only shows in the sun and at certain angles. The Core and Stradic CI4 look perfect on these rods.

Shimano Cumulus
They will be on the shelves by early March. This is a new line so more than likely it will be a year before we see any additions.

Shimano Cumulus
Remeber when I said "Just wait until you see what I am working on for next year"? Well this is it 15 months of hard work and testing led to these rods. We desinged an ultra light rod worth of placing our ultra light reels on. Plus the colors match ;D

Shimano Core 50MG7 - different colored weights included?
The Japanese didn't write that. Someone here did and maybe they forgot about brake being the correct spelling of the word. I'll see about getting that changed.

Gloomis and shimano
Shimano has owned Gloomis since 1997. Sales, service and marketing are all under our umbrella now. Production and development are still in Woodland, WA. This was a decision made by the people at GLoomis and not Shimano. They wanted to focus on building rods again.

screeching noise on my cardiff
The spool bushing needs a drop of oil more than likely. That is the most common item that makes the reel screech if it is dry. This bushing will need a drop of oil a few times of year.

Glock woes, and a new SIG
The Sig 220 is one of the nicer .45's I have shot. I do not own one currently but it is on my list to purchase. I currently own an HK USP in .45 and a Para/Custom 1911. The HK has been 100% reliable from day one. It will cycle any ammo I put through it Nice purchase Micro! You will be happy with the Sig.

Prayers for my wife's back surgery
That is great to hear!! I went through all the back stuff a couple of years ago. Surgery was not an option because of the multiple levels that have issues. Now I line with it off and on. I wish her the best!

The Hangover comes out Tuesday!!
There are lots of great lines in that movie. We quote Step Brothers and The Hangover at work regularly ;D My favorite line is "Rainman was a ra-tard and he practically bankrupt a casino" Just that whole scene makes me laugh every time.

All three of these movies are funny. I like them all and own them all. I just watched Inglorious Basterds last night. Another great movie for this year!

Does anyone shoot AR-15s
I agree with GMAN. The piston is great if you are in high sand areas or shoot full auto with a suppressor. I have 2 AR's with DI systems. Aside from a little more cleaning I have zero issues. In one weekend I shot over 2000 rounds out of my Bushmaster 16" HBAR carbine. I did not have one failure and I did not clean it until I came home. I do run a dry lube in my AR's because I shoot mostly in the desert out here. It helps minimize the sand from sticking to the lube. I think I just hit the 20,000 round count in my Bushmaster too. I will be rebarreling soon. Not bad considering it is all stock. The 16" carbine is more than adequate for 99% of what you will probably do with it. I recommend getting a flat top so you can add optics later if you choose. I shoot my 16" out to 600 yards and my 18" out to 800. They are very accurate even at long range

Handgun Purchase
Shoot new ammo through it only and you'll be fine. A couple of my friends have 23's and they are nice. Learn the trigger reset, practice alot, and you can accurately place the entire magazine in less than 1.5" @ 15 yards quickly. These seem to shoot better and tighter groups the faster you work the trigger. I'm a .45 guy but if I were to buy a .40 it would be that one

16 strand hollow braid
Here's a video on Youtube showing how to make the leader or to connect Flouro to Hollow Core: I tried to find a link showing how to make the loop but was unsuccessful. We will have a video showing how to do everything once the product has been released. It is really simple to do. Here's how you do the loop to loop. Sorry its in Japanese but it's all I have right now.

I posted them yesterday but the list was removed.

16 strand hollow braid
This type of connection has been used in saltwater applications for a long time. Castability is far superior to a knotted connection. I have been playing with it for bass applications for a couple of months and I really like it. It takes a little more time to make the connection so I just make a bunch of wind on leaders. Make a loop in the hollow core braided line and then use a simple loop to loop connection to replace leaders. I do not see myself going back to tying knots to connect my leader to the braid ever again.

Modern Warfare 2
I have no idea. I just play the game and try to have fun. This one was weird. When the guy would get close to you I would freeze like he hit me with a stun grenade. He ran up and stuck me with the knife. I watched his kill cam replay and he did it to three other people on the team before me in a matter of seconds. It happened a couple of times and I left the game. Yep I saw someone do it over the weekend on Afagn. You can still blast them.

I have yet to experience the Javelin thing thankfully. I have exeperienced some hackers though. I just leave the game and find another one.
