I'm not to far from Chicago and a woman i know was bitten on her big toe from a brown recluse spider and almost lost her foot she told me it destroyed all the tissue on her foot all she had was the tendons and they had to grow skin tissue in a dish and keep applying it was 6 months before she could go back to work. the doctor told her they could fall of trains and be anywhere. the doctor told her to shake out your shoes before putting them on. YIKES!

what a good game for a change it kept you watching the whole thing and not channel surfing like some bears games. anybody have an idea why the running game is not up to par yet ?i figured with cutlers passing it would open up more holes.

this is one of the first articles i read this morning on this site , it got my heart and blood pressure racing as I'm reading thru it .thank god it turned out good and that you re such a good and alert parent . holy crap this story is scary.

during the summer months i would get out early before sunrise and fish the strip mine pits on my days off but was wondering if that is necessary this time of year . yesterday when i was out the water temp was 72 and i couldn't find any fish hanging around the shallow shorelines and Ive noticed the weeds are brown and dying off so will the bass come in still around the shallows early am ? or are they hanging around the deeper water in the early am so it would be best to go later in the morning or afternoon and fish and sleep in instead?

i fish in alot of forest preserve lakes around my house an am amazed how people leave the garbage all around most of the time within 30ft of a garbage can. i also belong to a private club which at least limits alot of the garbage but even there Ive noticed some beer cans at the bottom of the lake . i don't understand people sometimes.

i know its only one game, but alot of us long time bears fan were hoping for a savior in cutler, different quarterback same results , i was hoping for a spark on offense instead we got more of the same .inept play calling.( how many times should you run forte up the middle with no results, can you please try something else before you put us to sleep. ) the more things change the more they look the same.

during the work week i shore fish early am before work and and again i will go out after work .for me lately Ive simplified on my lure selection so i can just focus on technique instead of constantly changing lures and fussing with trying to see the fishing line to keep tying knots . i don't want a bunch of small things messing up my concentration so this is why Ive simplified i seem to be having more fun. the other day i stopped and went fishing at this retention pond after work ,i was tired and unfocused and changing lure after lure when i spotted a heron on the other side of the bank ,motionless , focused calm as can be , just sitting there fishing watching me fidgeting . i thought to myself, man I'm lacking patience this bird just taught me something .all along he was probably laughing at me and thinking.STUPID ROOKIE FISHERMAN!

to me that's an amazing stat,i have questions popping in my head all the time that i want answers to. to me the is the best place to ask them. for me this site is such a handy tool where i can ask a question and get responses in seconds from top bass fisherman.

i just wanted to thank all you guys who responded with answers , I'm amazed at the knowledge of some of the fisherman on this site , I'm hoping someday when i get more time in fishing and reading under my belt i can answer some questions instead of asking them. thanks again guys i cant wait to get back out there to try out some of these tips.

i noticed my wife's homemade soup seems to get better tasting the longer it sits around.

i knew somebody who was fishing in lake Michigan and it got rough and he ended up getting a treble hook in each hand , his hands were locked together like he had hand cuffs on , he said he stuck both his hands in the cooler with the ice for as long as he could stand it and had his friend use pliers and pull them out . i think i would have jumped over the side and drowned myself.

a newbie question, at the strip mine club i belong to I've seen these shelves that extend from the shoreline say 50 ft and then drops to deep water , a couple fisherman i was talking to were telling me park my boat on the deeper section and cast off on to the shallow shelf the fish are down where the light green water meets the deep green water. in the weeds i tried this yesterday but didn't have much luck. i think my newbie mistake was it was overcast and maybe the fish weren't down deep ? i also said to these guys for me because i get tossed around in the wind it would be easier for me to park my little boat on this shelf and cast out into the deep water bringing the worm up into the shallow shelf. wouldn't this accomplish the same thing ?the water on the shelf is 2-3 ft deep .these guys said no park out in the deep i didn't want to be disrespectful and ask why. i figured if I'm on this shelf and the fish are down the side they cant see me or can they?i see alot of bumps i guess you would call them out here and on windy days when the water is choppy i can make out the bumps and since i have a little boat that gets blown around i could park on these with a little anchor and cast off into the deep water all around me and crawl the worm up into the shallows a good idea? or do what these guys said and park on the deep.

i would guess it was under water since the weekend the rod is fine the reel is a little stiff to turn .this rig must be for catching cat fish it a bigger spinning reel than i ever use for bass fishing . its a heavy set up. come winter when I'm looking for stuff to do maybe i will take it apart and clean it and lube it

i went out fishing at the club i belong to .it consists mainly of clear strip mine pits .fishing was slow today and on my way back in my boat i spotted something floating dead off in the distance at first i thought it was a raccoon because i could see legs sticking up out of the water. when i got closer i saw that it was a big turtle that grabbed some body's line and apparently jerked the hole rod and reel right in the water because i could see a fishing rod stuck and sticking up down in the weeds so i cut the line from the turtle and pulled up a abu Garcia stealth rod and reel out of the water, it looks like it had been down there a few days . unfortunately this was my only highlight that i had out fishing today

i have a laptop and i noticed last night when i got home from work when i turned it on most of the icons on the desk top i guess you call it are not lit up .and when i click on the non light icons like Mozilla FireFox for example which i i use allot, a message from windows pops ups and says WINDOWS CANNOT OPEN THIS FILE,TO OPEN THIS FILE WINDOWS NEEDS TO KNOW WHAT PROGRAM CREATED IT ,WINDOWS CAN GO ON LINE TO LOOK IT UP Automatically OR YOU CAN Manually SELECT FROM A LIST OF PROGRAMS ON YOURE COMPUTER.when i try the windows automatically way it pretty much tells you to do it manually . i have no idea how to do this manually im not good on computers. now if i click on the start button i see Mozilla there and if i click on it ,it opens up so i can get on line ,but thru the desk top icons nothing but this windows message appears no matter what non lit icon i press on. is this some kind of virus ? the guy that set this up for me has a couple virus icons on here but they are some of the non lit icons that wont work .first i wanted to warn you that I'm not a computer person so I'm hoping the solution somebody is an easy one. thanks guys.

these pictures remind me of a story one of my customers was telling me .he was coming home from his vacation in Wisconsin and on the way home while towing his boat with his jeep he hit a deer ,messing up the front end of his jeep ,when he finally got home in the process of taking his boat off the jeep he got distracted and the boat and trailer came off and slid down his sloped driveway scratching the side of his corvette that was parked in the driveway and knocked down his mailbox and post before coming to a rest in the neighbors front yard . he told me man, my insurance agent is not gonna believe this phone call.

i don't think it can get any better than that , away fishing and with your father yet, enjoy every second of this time spent with your father , its irreplaceable!, cant wait to see the pictures.

i was just talking to a woman who is a personal trainer the other day and she was talking about her trip to Italy , i never travel so i asked her what the biggest difference between our country and Italy the first thing she blurted out was you don't see any fat people over there and here everybody is fat.

i know everybody is in their fishing mode still but can you imagine come winter when most of us have nothing to do you have all this collection to study.how great.

well ,I'm gonna try to be of some help.i own one and find it to be lightweight and sensitive myself being a newbie this is the only high end rod i own so i don't have anything to compare it to, hopefully some one like rw or more experienced anglers will reply to you. on a side note i was fishing a couple nights ago at a forest preserve pond and when i was leaving i ran into a guy whom i always see catching fish when nobody else seem to . it turns out this guy is a very experienced angler who fishes in a lot of tournaments he wanted to look at my rod and reel this guy couldn't believe how nice and sensitive it was he kept playing with it in the parking lot saying i cant believe this rod im gonna have to buy one of these.

my friend was telling me something like this happened to him .he was coming up a bank with waders on and caught some guy digging thru the cab of his truck unfortunately for this guy my friend is a fighter with a temper and beat the crap out of the guy and then grabbed a BBQ grill propane tank out of this thieves truck and banged it up and down all over the outside of the guys truck. sorry this happened to you i hope you catch them.
