  1. Nice story Catt. Mine is much less dramatic. 5 lb 8 oz caught on a watermelon/red Horny Toad. Man I love a good topwater bite. Brute
  2. Those ducks are easy to handle when you hook them. You ought to try removing a hook from an alligator. Talk about a top water bite. ;D Brute
  3. It does have an overflow at the top. Just run the aerator on auto mode ( 1 min. on and 3 mins. off ). I have the same boat and it has never overflowed on me. I only use the recirc. if at a boat ramp, going through some very muddy water or draining the livewell. Brute
  4. Clearwater Florida in da house. Between work, fishing, and the honey do list I don't spend a lot of time here posting. I was fishing on lake Panasofkee all day yesterday and was wore out when I got home. This is the first time I've been on here in a few days. I assure you there a a lot of Florida fishermen here. Brute
  5. Welcome benlee1. I live in Clearwater also and believe I am the one pressuring Lake Tarpon. I have been out there almost every weekend for the last year. If your looking for someone to fish with, just let me know. Brute
  6. They have those racks on the buses here in Tampa. You have to go take a class and get a permit before you can put your bike on the rack. I think they do this to keep the bike riders from delaying the bus. Brute
  7. I don't have a pic, but last week I caught a small bluegill throwing a 5/8 oz Spro Aruku Shad. The treble hook barely fit in his mouth. I do not know what he was thinking, but there is no way that whole lure was going to fit. Brute
  8. You can get the tool at any auto parts store. You just remove a spark plug, screw the gauge into the spark plug hole and crank the motor over a few revolutions. I'm not sure what kind of number it will read, but you do want every cylinder to be consistent. Brute
  9. You can buy the tool to run your own compression test for about $20. It is real easy to do. It is not one of those tools you will use very often, but can save you from buying into a lot of trouble. Brute
  10. Tackle warehouse has the Avid AVC70MF on sale right now for $129. I know that's $9 more than you wanted to spend, but that sure seems like a great deal for a rod that usually goes for $170. Brute
  11. I was talking to my buddy today who owns the bait shop I frequent. I think the bait monkey was there holding a gun to his head. He was telling me about his sale. 2 for 1 Lucky crafts and smoking deals on his soft plastics and spinner baits. I really don't "need" anything, but I will be paying him a visit on Saturday, and I have a funny feeling that it is going to be an expensive one. I hope my wife isn't reading this. Brute
  12. Last year I was fishing with my Brother and we were both using worms. After an hour or so i decided to tie on my brand new Spro Aruku Shad. This was my first expensive lure costing me $9.00. I go to cast it to the shore with the same effort I was throwing the worm with. When it reaches the shore it is still climbing and gets hung up way up in a tree. That darn thing didn't even get wet and it's gone for good. :'( going, going, going, it's outta here. Brute
  13. I would recommend that you call Tarpon Toms bait and tackle. They are located on us 19 right on Lake Tarpon. They have a bunch of excellent guides that can get you on some fish. If you are looking for some shore fishing, I would try Walsingham Park in Pinellas park. I've caught quite a few fish at both locations. Brute
  14. My best ( smartest ) decision ever was cutting my line loose from the 8 foot gator I hooked in the tail this last Saturday. He was not happy at all and I was upset because I lost my favorite crankbait. Brute
  15. I have the Pro Team 175 that I purchased last year. I have no complaints about the boat at all. It runs 32 mph with the 50 hp merc on back with my brother and I in it. Brute
  16. I have 2 small dogs at home ( each about 10 lbs ). Where I fish the gators are big so momma says no. I would love to, but I've gotta keep momma happy. Brute
  17. If you put a free sign on it, people will know it does not work and leave it there. Put a "For Sale" sign on it and someone will steal it tonight. Don't ask me how I know. Brute
  18. 2007 Tracker PT175 2008 Mercury 50 hp Motorguide 46 lb It goes 32 mph according to gps Brute
  19. Like they said you have to feel the fish on the line first. I have seen quite a few times where the fish will explode on the top and miss. When this happens, just let your lure sit there still and they will usually come back for a second hit at it. Brute
  20. If I remember right, you have to lock the drag all the way down and then rotate the handle in the reverse direction. I would still wait to try until someone else chimes in though just to be sure. Brute
  21. If I were you, I would get some of the paint that you want to try. Scuff up a small section on the bottom of the boat and apply. Let it dry overnight or until cured. Then put a piece of masking tape over the newly painted area and pull it of rapidly. If no paint comes up with the tape, then scuff and paint the rest. If the new paint does come up with the tape, try a different kind of paint using the same procedure. I will bet that you will find something that will adhere to it. And yes I do manufacture paint for a living, so I get these questions all of the time. Brute
  22. Last year I caught bass between 6 oz and 6 lbs on a 10" worm. I would say use it when you want to catch fish. Brute
  23. Hey Bassinfla82, It looks like I might be out of a job here in the next few weeks. Only temporary though because I have something else lined up for the end of May. I would love to come to Jacksonville and fish with you a few times. If you feel like coming to Tampa, I can return the favor. Send me a pm if you are still looking. Brute
  24. I have the telescopic model also and it works and stores well. My only complaint is that it is only good good for water 6' or less. Any deeper and you don't have much left to grab onto. Brute
  25. I live in Clearwater also and these guys pretty much nailed it. Brute
