  1. We in south Fl are getting colder to, not snow, but cold for this time of year, this morning I think it got down to 48* and did not go higher than 65* all day.
  2. Congratulations, and God bless you and your family!! Get him fishing at an early age!
  3. wow. I just realized the stupidity of saying "like what?" this post was made for that to answer that same exact question, the answer is right under my nose, but I was being to stubborn to look their. And I wanna say sorry to jwo1124 for stealing the post, I was being very ignorant and self centered. And also sorry to Raul for being such an : :-/
  4. Fist, I never said that I was very good with kind of stuff! secondly. Like what, I only started getting into mono quality recently, back then it was what ever was cheep, mono was mono. As far as I know, the only "high quality" mono I've used it Sufix Elite Camo, in 17lb, that and Triple Fish Camo-Escent, 16lb. And believe it or not I've never had any line under 14lb on a bass pole!
  5. This is exactly what I do. One spot I like to fish is filled with nice crappie and decent lmb. This smaller presentation enables me to catch both species and I can cut the pieces to various lengths depending on what they want. Give it a try. believe it or not, I got the idea from a fishing show called fishing the flats, they were using a "flats class" rig, aka, drop shot.
  6. Then make it 12 lbs test, the right brand and type.
  7. If life were only as simple. : That's what I go with wave worm, bamboo, and dip sticks, works well with me if I wanna down size.
  8. You mean heavy like this ? You don 't need 20 lbs test to fish it, you need the right line to: get your baits into productive depths or pull fish out of cover or minimize line visibility., I fish that place with 10 lbs test. Not like that, more like a pads and reeds!
  9. http://www.***.com/descpageLNETRIPFISH-TFCEL.html this one!
  10. Really? Who makes 16 lb test line? http://www.***.com/styleproducts.html?styleref=2920 All of these!
  11. Bassmasters Magazine March 2008, article 10 Bad Mistakes Bassers make by Ken Duke, page 46, mistake No4: THEY DON 'T USE THE RIGHT LINE Reese beleives that few weekend anglers carry the full assortment of line types and sizes -from 6 to 30 pound test- with them whenever they go fishing. Nor they make the best use of lines. He says "Line diameters and types make a huge difference in lure performance. The difference between 8 lb and 12 lbs can be enormous. Even on power fishing lakes like Toho in Florida or Sam rayburn in Texas, you need lots of lines to choose from so you can make adjustments and catch fish consistently. You need the right lines to get your baits into productive depths or pull fish out of cover or minimize line visibility. It all adds up." No augment their! You should always have different line lb tests. But did he not ask about heavy cover?
  12. A spinner bait for sure, use them in cover and in open water, you can jig them like a jig, retrieve them like a crank bait and use them up top like a buzz bait (but of course with less buzz), they are good in almost all water clarities. Next would be a chatter bait, only because they are less weedless, and won't get as much of a buzz from them. They would be a better jig though.
  13. All I can say is don't get a 2 incher. Get a 6 incher and a bite each piece to 2" they come in a 5 pack so multiply 6 x 3 (3 pieces from each 6" senko) and you get 15, it's just more for you money!
  14. I think is very simple to work with! But I like to use at least 14lb, and at most 20lb when fishing heavy cover. I find 16 to be a happy median.
  15. If you're asking what braid lb test is best for all around bassin' that would probably be 30lb. correct, if I'm wrong!
  16. I tried using braid for deep cranking... uuuhhhh, DON'T TRY IT, it hurts!! but if you're talking about shallow, and medium depth crank bait, than braid works nicely! I like to use mono and FC for cranking best, it's got stretch, and I like that when using cranks.
  17. I can't base this on experiences but I know that jigs work good.
  18. I also find that matching the hatch is not so important with LMB. No lake in south Fl have rainbow trout, yet I too will get fish. Some people say that if the bass are chasing than you gotta use a shad color bait. Well I disagree almost completely! The bass have a hard enough Time trying find as shad in a school of shad that look completely the same. So I give the bass a brake. Use a color that makes the bait stand out, such as a red or fire tiger. What works for me.
  19. Shows what I know, I thought it was a pickeral!
  20. What are the state regulations for your state?
  21. What would you make the regulations is what I meant to say.
  22. To give a little wiggle room. It's not just bass, it's bream and tilapia too. And plus, it's not like the fish are going to wast. 18 dose sound like a lot if it's only bass so I modified the regulations to 18 fish and 8 bass. What would you do? :-?
  23. Well I'll go with tackle warehouse, it's a sooner date! ;D
