  1. Hay! A friend invited me to go to NC with him over the summer, fishing for smallies, but nether of use know much about small mouth bassin'. Being a south Florida boy, I know very little about smallies. So could you just give me the basic of small mouth bass fishing, line, lure, weight, tips, anything will be greatly appreciated! BTW we will be fishing at bear lake, NC. THANKS!
  2. Bass-Bart but nice and simple! Unless you have a piece of junk for a rod, it should be fine on the rod. good luck to ya!
  3. I would also love to have a boat, but me have the same problem, my dad is getting him doc. in teaching. He thought he make a good income for the family of 5 with a masters, but with economy in the going down the tube, and going fast at that, a masters won't cut it! But salvation my come soon! We saw a nice boat for sale at 5,500 and he's really considering save a few hundred bucks per 1,500 pay check, to get it. And it looks sea worthy to, so it could be a salt and fresh water boat! Good luck to! BTW he's wanting to teach college!
  4. What are trigger rods, is their any difference form a normal casting rod? I looking for a rod to go with a reel, and I was thinking a Berkley Lightning Rods Trigger rods good price. But what's a "Trigger" rod? Thanks!

  6. I like left handed for both spinning and casting, this way, I can cast more coordinately with my good arm and I don't have to switch the pole form hand to hand. With a Right handed reel you also can't get as good of a hook set, (lemme rephrase that, I can't get as good of a hook set). Just what works for me. Right handed retrieve means that you reel with the right hand. And left retrieve means you reel with left hand.
  7. Double Palomar, I'm I the only one how knows about this knot, it the same as the Palomar but instead of doing a half hitch, you'll do a hull hitch! Works BETTER, yes you heard me BETTER than the Palomar!
  8. Sufix Siege elite rocks!! 8-)
  9. Your plan sounds good. our you can just cut the tree down ;D
  10. I live in south Fl.
  11. You forgot one thing, you didn't send one to me one
  12. What do y'all think of this reel, worth the cash It would be this or a BPS extreme reel, both the same amount of money, I read the reviews on tackle tour, looks like a great reel and could give the BPS extreme reel a run for its money! So how is it vs. the BPS reel? (Sorry about the mass of reel questions, :-/ but X-mas is coming up and I'm still trying to find a good reel under 100$) I saw that some people said it would be a toss up between the Quantum Accurist CX and the BPS reel, well wound it be different if the Accurist CX was $40.00? :-?
  13. Well I would show you if my camera had batteries. But I have a 50gl tank and have tailpia and two cat fish. I had 4 bass but they all die a few months ago, we caught them all at a pond with a scoop net! they are not big fans of fish food so we go to the pond and catch small minnows with a scoop net for them to eat. 50 of them will last them for about 1 1/2 to 2 days! when the bass were alive we fed them frogs! ;D interesting post by the way!
  14. Nope, not weedless at all unless you get one with a weedless hook as apposed to a treble hook, and to make it weedless you gotta put some kind of grub on for a trailer.
  15. Nice! I gotta get me some Cavitrons!
  16. Most of the time when I wanna see if their are fish in a pond I will go to the shore and look, normally you will see minnows. In small ponds the main food is a good ol minnow, no shad in these little dudes (most of the time)! You're never 100% sure until you throw a bait out their!
  17. clear water rig? :-?
  18. lol I know what you mean, great weather on the week days, sunny, a bit over cast. Than on week ends, rain, rain, rain, and did I mention rain? Sundays not to bad for use but come Friday, the forecast will change! http://www.wral.com/weather/
  19. Thanks, I was wondering how long the back order would take! :-/
  20. I use at lest 12lb for top water, but 14 is perfect for me! I use a uni knot for mono, great knot, much stronger than the improved clench!!
