  1. I've grown used to the wind vs braid battle but am definitely considering floro. Any popular 4lb floro I should look into?
  2. I was set on the cork but figured the black Winn knobs would go better with the Eva handle on the recon. They're cool. A bit bigger than expected but very comfortable wet or dry.
  3. Yup, lol. I almost spooled it a few times today when the wind caught my bait. Figured I would have enough line using 15lb braid but I may try 10lb/2lb diameter to see if that will help. Short accurate casts are effortless with this spool though.
  4. I recently picked up a lcp custom and went with fiotcchi xtp rounds. There's a YouTube series where these xtp bullets in .380 scored very well in bare gelatin and denim/gelatin. Sure it's not a 45 but I can carry in my pocket everywhere I can't bring my shield and not worry about under or over penetration.
  5. I absolutely love fishing light tackle and almost all of my reports posted have fished caught of 6lb or lighter line... From shore. I don't have a boat or know anyone who owns one. My go to is my bfs curado on a phenix recon 682. Before I dipped toes into bfs land, I was all about UL spinning tackle. My main thing was getting snagged on some shorelines so I fish with the most weedless techniques I can from top waters and suspending jerk baits to trigged and split shot 3" senkos and alive shads.
  6. Everything I take could probably fit in my pockets if I packed em good. I prefer a small fanny pack slung over my shoulder or the plano crappie? soft tackle bag (I'd have to check which one I have) if I'm bringing more than one rod. I'm rarely out more than a couple hours and only fish baits/techniques I'm most confident in. This has worked best for me once I found my most productive baits and only bring what I think will work in that days conditions and location. I'll also bring some water.
  7. Previous generation Daiwa procyon would be my choice if on a budget. Around $50 on fleabay.
  8. That's awesome. Ive always wanted to try some of their higher end audio equipment.
  9. I never added anything to my two piece rods. Just keep the joints clean as possible and don't force them to seat all the way.
  10. Something like this? http://www.bassresource.com/bass-fishing-forums/topic/162525-fs-fenwick-elite-small-mouth-610-mf-casting-2-piece/#entry1841792
  11. I crush the barbs on every hook I fish including trebles. Luckily I never hooked a bass in the eye with a hook that didn't have its barb pinched down, but the few that I have, removal was very quick.
  12. Ultralight is definitely a blast and is my favorite way to fish. I have 4lb floroclear on my current UL rig but have used 15/4 braid/leader combo with excellent results landing a ton largemouth and peacock bass. I now use the same 15/4 braid on my bfs reel but that's a whole other topic.
  13. Never had it happen but some good tips there. BTW op, how does you and your father like the ardito?
  14. I love my recon 682. I can toss 1/16 jigs with 2" Keitech easy shiners a respectable distance with my tuned/bfs curado 51e.
  15. My travel/beater rig. A bit heavy compared to my bfs but it definitely gets the job done.
  16. So I got the go ahead to build an AR pistol but have no experience with anything AR related. I'll be picking up a receiver soon and going from there.
  17. Im set on the silver curado star unless hawgtech or hedgehog has a sale on one of theirs. Thanks anyways
  18. New handle came in the other day and I had to take a crappy picture. I'm liking these Winn grips but wonder if I should of gone with cork.... Still need to get rid of that plastic drag star for a curado 200e star, add some carbontex and air bfs bearings. Then I think I'll be done with this one.
  19. I like the chill step stuff like blackmill and emancipator but I'll jam to some glitch mob, Ronald jenkees, some skrillex and whatever else I thumbed up on my Pandora.
  20. Lock down drag Keep pressure on the spool with your thumb Turn the handle a few times Pull line until said backlash comes free If it doesn't pull free, rinse and repeat. And if that doesn't work, you got a nasty mess on your hands and will need to be cut free. The technique above has always worked for me though.
  21. Always alone. My 4 year old doesn't last 15 mins at the lake anymore. It's not often I get to go these days.
  22. Shamwow all day... Not really. Just a clean, damp rag if they really need it between the deep cleanings.
