  1. A bit of a learning curve and does require more frequent adjustments. My 201i is barely broken in though. It does feel very connected and powerful during retrieve. The stock drag is very smooth too. The side plate release can take some getting used to.
  2. At that price, I would go with the Fenwick river runner. They can be had for under $100 in fleabay. I've caught many pan fish as well as largemouth and peacock bass on the 6'9 ul 2 piece without issues. I was using braid and had no issues setting the hook with 4" gycb cut tail at the end of a long cast. Good luck
  3. What's your budget? I'm, shorter rods for more accurate casting and limited casting space. Longer rods for pitching small jigs and long casts.
  4. Rewatching Spartacus on Netflix.
  5. I love light tackle and fish it all year. I'm not fishing slop or anything crazy so it works and it's fun. I had a dink fest yesterday with a few in the 1.5lb range all on 4" roboworm alive shads t-rigged with 1/8oz. I usually go 1/16 but the wind gusts were in the 20's and I needed the extra weight.
  6. Can anyone who ones one confirm that they have the same metal construction as the larger models? Or did they go the composite route similar to the previous 1000 size saros and stradic?
  7. Imo my avid x is more sensitive than the recon I had. I can't speak for the other powers and lengths but the 7' ml/f avid x spinning fishes in line with its ratings unlike the premiers and triumphs I've had in the past. I'm in a similar situation with my next rod purchase so I'll definitely be following this thread. My top choices are another avid x or a dobyns champion. I actually called dobyns to get their input and the guy on the phone was very helpful and had a couple return rods available but were only 10% off with minor cosmetic issues. I passed.
  8. Yo fam, while shopping for a strap, I came across this gem. It's too bad real hunnids aren't included. http://www.sportsmansoutdoorsuperstore.com/products2.cfm/ID/169719

Fat impacts as well as the easy shiners if you want more subtle.
  10. Or paste direct link, circled quakes first pic, into your post. It'll embed automatically or you can select it not to. When using the IMG link in the bottom on quakes first pic, it'll jack it up. That's how it works from my phone anyways. Test

I may be picking up a p2000sk in a trade and was wondering if anyone shot or owned one and their opinion. It'll be my first hk but I held it when my sister brought it over for a cleaning. Felt over built and comfortable imo and the few reviews I've read were positive.
  12. Use direct links instead of the [ img]
  13. http://i95.photobucket.com/albums/l153/sqhertz/Mobile%20Uploads/20160402_123808-1_zpsxelwo3zl.jpg[/IMG] Just got the curado I in yesterday. I'm impressed so far. Hopefully today or tomorrow I'll really know how it performs on the water.
  14. Those guys are all over in my area. Always see them but never caught one so I usually ignore them.
  15. I had this recipe for a spicy sweet and sour sauce. It was ridiculous and super easy to make.
  16. Lol Well depending on what reel sells, either the curado or scorpion, color matching may not be that big of an issue.
  17. OK, I don't have a total weight of the fat impacts rigged up but itll probably a few grams more but still under a half Oz. Too much for that rod?
  18. I have an avid x spinning and it's on too underrated like the premier Croix I had in the past. How would that dobyns work with 4"senkos? Those would probably be the heaviest bait I throw along with the trigged fat impacts.
  19. Apparently it makes the reel pick up line faster....... Jk. More leverage
  20. If Kistler had a rod that meets my requirements, I'd probably go with the helium. Same thing with the zodias. How do the dobyns champion stack up against the others? http://tackletrap.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2290
  21. I have a 2 piece ml/f avid x spinning rod that I think is amazing even for its msrp so that's definitely on the short list. I'm not familiar with g Loomis. Do they fish heavier similar to Croix? That 802c looks nice.
  22. I'm shopping for a 6'6 - 6'8 medium fast rod that'll work for a bit of everything. It'll be paired with a scorpion 1001xt and I don't want something that'll clash with the red color. I'll be fishing lighter t rigs like 6-7" straight tails, 4" senkos, 4" Keitechs with some Spook and jerkbait action thrown in. I keep coming back to the avid and avid x series based on my experience with them but the dobyns 682 caught my eye as well. I'm not sure this rod can handle what I want it to though. I'd like to stay between $200-$250.
