  1. A big congrats to you sir. That fish is ridiculous! From the reels I've fished, I'd go for the stradic fk. The ci4 didn't balance well with any rod I had and from what I've read, the standard avid can be tip heavy.
  2. 7' 2 piece ML/F Avid X Stradic FK 1000 10lb power pro 6lb floroclear leader (may switch back to 6lb cxx)

Speaking of belts, I've been very pleased with this one with the 5 stitch. I wear it practically all day every day. http://www.thewilderness.com/belts/easy-fit-frequent-flyer-belt/

Imo, It just doesn't look like it'll give you a solid grip when you go to unholster/unpant. And I'd think it would move around a lot. Not to mention if something got in that trigger guard... I like mine to be covered unless I want my finger in there. I know people have used those clips on keltecs for a long while without issue. It's just not for me.

Eh. I wouldn't feel too comfortable with that clip. And that trigger guard cover... A simple single clip kydex holster would work for a small semi. I had one of these for my shield and am thinking about getting one for the lcp to free up a pocket. https://onyour6designs.com/ Not the quality of the $60+ pieces of kydex but it doesn't have their price either. Good retention and clips with smoothed edges. Lifetime warranty too. And it may be worth checking out before dropping cash on an expensive holster. I was so recommended these on another forum.. http://stealthgearusa.com/ The backing looks super comfortable and breathable. I plan on getting one for my 9c when I will be carrying a full day.
  6. Daps, no. Twerking? Definitely. When my daughter graduates, it's going down.

I carried my shield in a single clip kydex holster here in Miami. I now pocket carry a lcp custom in a DeSantis nemesis. Never leave home without it.
  8. Very nice. Who did you send it to?
  9. We called it daps. Closed fist bumped on the top then bottom of another closed fist. Similar to a handshake but much cooler. Like so, yo. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Giving_dap Dabs is something entirely different and probably not welcome to discuss here. We fist bump at work. mainly because all of our hands are filthy but I don't know where the other guys hands have been so it works. I wouldn't give her daps in front of the students or your peers during the ceremony thing. Definitely afterwards outside in the halls or something though.
  10. My #1 bait would be the zoom Super fluke Jr in baby bass. Weightless if conditions allow but Texas or Carolina, split or drop shot, jig head or shaky head all work. I've caught most of my big fish on this bait from East North Carolina to Miami, FL. Followed by Lake fork baby shads on a 1/16 ball jig. This has also caught me many big peas, cichlids and largemouth.
  11. This is the first craw type bait I've picked up in years and it's been killer. I've been fishing it on a 1/0 Ewg with an unpegged 1/8 and up weight. Dragged and hopped along the bottom. Durable, consistent and it just catches fish. What other craw baits this size does everyone t-rig? Im looking to try the rage craws sometime. Also, does anyone use smaller profile 3-4" craws for a more finesse approach?
  12. I like the I series but I still don't like the 200 size so I let mine go. A curado/Scorpion 71 is in my future.
  13. I didn't like any pline on spinning gear in any strength. If I had to chose a mono it'll be sufix elite or seige. On casting gear it's OK. I exclusively use braid with leader for everything and cxx is the best leader for the money I've found. For more line shy/pressured fish, I like fluoroclear.
  14. Zoom Super Fluke Jr's on 1/0 Ewg Texas rigged weightless. Twitched just below the surface usually gets them worked up. If you can find any water without veg on the surface, spook Jr's are great too. Don't let the bait sit too long or they'll loose interest. Only if they short strike I'll let it sit for a few seconds after they miss before starting the retrieve again. They are an absolute blast to catch. Good luck!
  15. Should have a new m&p 9c by the end of next week and am looking into holsters. I'd prefer a single clip iwb kydex but am open to options. Pics are welcome!
  16. Super fluke Jr on spinning. Reg super fluke on casting
  17. I fish weightless plastics whenever I can and use yellow braid with a leader. I'm always watching my line and maybe half the time I'll feel them take it. I still sometimes get deep hooked fish but it's not often. Crushing the barbs and using the 'go in through the gill' method to remove the deep hooks make it not that big of a deal.
  18. I used it in the past. It's a good line but I prefer plain old power pro in green or yellow.
  19. Fall can be a tough time for peas but definitely do-able. Good luck! Eventually I will be moving out of Miami but hopefully not out of the peacock zone. I'll need to do some studying to see how far north they've gone.
  20. 1/16 jig w/ Lake fork baby shad 15lb power pro 6lb cxx leader No weight but somewhere around 5 I guess. I previously caught a 6-7lb lmb on a fluke Jr and bunches of 3+lb on the same bait.
  21. Eh. Albright for leader and Palomar for single hooks for me. KISS I still need to work on loop knots if I ever decide to put time to treble baits. 20lb power pro to 6lb cxx will pass through the micros on my avid x without issue.
  22. Went out for a few hours today and the fish were on fire. Just shy of a couple dozen bass and cichlids fell victim to gambler bb cricket, roboworm alive shads and Lake fork baby shads. Saw a monster peacock that had to be 6lb easy and it kept short striking my baby shad. It was crazy watching him come back again and again before moving out of sight. Didn't catch it but I know he's there.
  23. They really are fantastic but need a small hook to really shine. Those and the lake fork baby shads with the ball tail are killers down here for the pan fish and cichlids.
