Anyone Recognize This Jig? Who Makes It?
Came across this jig in some tackle I purchased at the swapmeet recently. Its got a unique head design, with some sort of bait keeper to hold a bait with. Anyone fish these, how does this design function vs a standard jig? Lastly...the big question...who makes it??

Best Application For This Spinning Rod? Dropshot Or Float N Fly?
Been looking into the "Float n Fly" technique and thought of giving it a try. Got the reel, got the flies/small jigs, but had a little trouble sourcing a rod locally. What I did find on CL is an 8'3" Medium Light Abu Garcia Crossfire rod. Is this rod I picked up a decent choice for the float n fly technique? OR Would this be a better rod for a Dropshot?

Drug Tests And Professional Anglers
I think that drug tests should be mandatory...its not just about fishing...its about boat operation too...and we all know intoxication(whether from drugs or alcohol) while operating a vessel is a big no no...

Drug Tests And Professional Anglers
Some would say that fishing is a sport. In a sport the competitors are called atheletes. In all the other sports I can think of, the competitors havevto go through drug testing...does the same apply to Professional anglers?

King Salmon Fishing At Camel Creek Anchorage , Alaska
Not all the fish I mentioned "Run", meaning they go out to sea as a juvenile, spend however many years there and then return. I think only the Salmon and Steelheads participate.I could be wrong Thing that I find as crazy is some fish travel(run)all the way to Fairbanks and further from the ocean which is down by Anchorage...a distance of like 360 miles and more...to spawn. Those are some determined fish...and when everything is done...they die.

King Salmon Fishing At Camel Creek Anchorage , Alaska
Pink(Humpy), Chum(Dog), Chinook (King) Sockeye (Red), Coho (Silver) all species of Salmon...I lived in AK for 3 years and those are the species I know of...I'm sure there's also a Steelhead (Sea run Rainbow Trout) run too. There's also Arctic Char(unsure if they "Run" per se) and even some landlocked Salmon stocked in some lakes.Other fish found in Alaska are Scheefish, Northern Pike, Grayling, Rainbow Trout...I'm certain there's lots more species I've forgotten.

King Salmon Fishing At Camel Creek Anchorage , Alaska
Every few years I've heard there's a HUGE run of Pinks (Humpies) in a river near the town of HOPE...heard they get so think in there, you can almost walk across without getting your feet wet...I doubt that but I get what the person telling the story was trying to convey.

Worm Color Question
Threw an unknown vintage 6"worm the other day on a Dropshot. Out of the water the worm looked like a motoroil color.Put it in the water and it changed to Chartreuse... Based on the description of the colors in an out of the water, what would the actual color of this worm be? Anyone ever seen a color change so drastically from being out of water vs in the water.

Anyone Ever Use This Catfish Bait Recipe?
Catfish Stink Bait Recipe (note: this takes a few days to get really stinky – USE LATEX GLOVES WHEN HANDLING)Items you will need, and where to get them 1. Limburger Cheese or similar stinky cheese (1 carton – ¼ pound is plenty) You can find this in the cheese section of your grocery store. You only need a small amount due to the powerful smell this cheese has. 2. Ground Hamburger Meat (1/2 pound – uncooked “raw”) 3. Regular Corn Flakes (For thickness) Add more corn flakes to make the bait thicker if needed. 4. Beer (of any choice 1/2 can) Catfish don’t care what brand, or if it is Lite, Bud, Coors, etc. 5. Garlic Powder 6. Chicken Liver Blood (1 container of only the blood – 2 pints) You can find this buy going to the meat section of your grocery store, and buy a couple of pints of chicken livers and drain them for the blood. 7. (Secret Ingredient) Longcut Copenhagen (1 pouch) This can be found in most any tobacco section of a grocery store or convenience store .Now let’s put it together 1. Grab a large bowl for mixing 2. Mix Limburger cheese and ground hamburger meat together. 3. Add Garlic powder (just enough to cover the top of the meat mixture – sprinkle over the entire surface) and then add beer. 4. Add the chicken liver blood 5. Empty the pouch of Copenhagen into the bowl. 6. Add the cornflakes and mix together to a good thickness (this will usually take 1/4 of the box of cornflakes) If a thicker mixture is needed just add more cornflakes. 7. Put in a bowl or can with a lid. I use big coffee cans with lid sealed good. 8. Set away for 2-3 days. I set it out in the sun out on my back porch. 9. Keep this smelly mixture in the sealed can in the refrigerator for a few weeks. Keeping in mind that some of the ingredients will continue to spoil and become really smelly. And most of all, don’t open the lid inside the house! Has anyone mixed this stuff up and used it with success? I mixed some up, still letting it spoil...stuff stunk pretty bad, especially when the beer hit the garlic powder...I think I saw smoke (chemical reaction)...almost scared to open the container after it ripens...

Concerning The Float N Fly Technique
I've watched some videos on the subject and was wondering about the float itself.I've seen where pros use a small clip bobber to present the bait. If the fish are a little deep, I suppose this might present a problem with casting...how well would a slip bobber work for this technique?

Exposed Or Weedless Hooks On A Rig?
I ask the question because the water in my lake is dropping and exposing a crazy amount of Milfoil. There's still deep open water to fish, but chances of getting into the grass are still possible.

Exposed Or Weedless Hooks On A Rig?
Alot of the A rig setups I've seen all have the hooks exposed. Anyone fish an A Rig with the baits rigged to be weedless...is there any advantage or disadvantage as far as hooking up with one way vs the other?

Try As I Might...i Just Can't Get This Knot To Cooperate
Might be overkill...In the vid its being tied with 80#...maybe its just tbe brand? Seems like way too much effort is needed to tie that double Palomar...wonder how many times a hook has ended up deep in someone's finger because of all the pressure involved in cinching that knot... I'm sticking with the regular Palomar...

Reel To Toss An A Rig
I'm wanting to possibly throw a 3 wire Yum Flash Mob Jr in the future.I'm looking at putting a Hollow Belly Swimbait with1/8oz weighted swimbait hooks on the outer arms and a swimbait with a 1/4oz internal weight with the hook snipped off on the center arm (Arizona only allows 2 hooks on an A Rig. ) Is there a bare minimium gear ratio or other feature I should have on a reel to throw this rig.O plan on throwing it on a 7' Falcon heavy action Carolina Lizard Dragger I Rod.

Try As I Might...i Just Can't Get This Knot To Cooperate

That Stupid Auction Site
One word...Sniper...put in the absolute most your willing to pay and then set it for when you want the bid to be entered...I set mine for 5 seconds prior to the end of auction.. I set it and forget it...let the sniper do its thing...if I win...great...if not I move on to the next...don't even have to monitor the auction...however sometimes an auction will get bid higher than my max bid days before the auction ends...I go into my sniper and cancel the bid as its been bid up past my max already...so there's no way I'd win...unless I REALLY want the item, then I just edit my bid...
