Maryland's Who's who!
Hey, never hurts to ask! I would for a telecommunications company as a project manager for the repair department. Sadly, fishing has been REALLY slow for me this year and I haven't had as many opportunities to get out as I have the past couple of years. Hopefully, I'll get back out soon! I have this twitch I need to get rid of and fishing is the only way it'll go away!

Great way to spend your lunches! Nice smallie too! I do that at Black Hills from time to time myself for largemouth.

Maryland's Who's who!
Surprisingly, I've caught decent bass out of that backwash area this time of year. Only thing I can think of is with all the hydrilla in there this time of year, the O2 content has to be really high to keep some of the bigger ones in there.

Maryland's Who's who!
Here's a hint for ya Chris! You drive over them every time you take your boat there! The tubes are under the road that crosses over the lake. ;D

Maryland's Who's who!
Good to hear Chris! I was able to get out for a little while last evening. I hit the back wash area fishing around the tubes. The area was just how I wanted it too. Close, but not completely choked out with hydrilla. Only brought one rod with me and 2 boxes. Had my flippin stick, a box of tubes and a box of terminal tackle. Had one really good hit but failed to hook up on a 4" junebug tube. I'll have to head back there and give it another shot!

Hey Hellbenderman, How did you make out last evening? Sorry again for having to bail out last evening. :-[

Where to fish in Maryland?
Hey CaptMicha, Welcome to THE boards! Check out the MD Who's who thread that I started. Its fairly active and has a some good information shared on there. I created that thread so anglers could meet up with others close by and/or share information about the waters they fish. I've had the opportunity to fish with a couple guys on here and have had a blast fishing with them!

Quantum Accurist PT
My oldest Accurist is the first generation AC400 model and I still use that reel today. A little TLC will go a long way with these reels, IMO. I did have one issue with my AC500PT, the anti-reverse stopped working on mine but that was my fault. Had the drag set WAY too tight which caused my failure. :-[ Have not had an issue with any of my other Accurists.

Quantum Accurist PT
I still have several of these older model Accurist's that I still use. I have an AC500PT (which is just the right handed model of yours). I service all my Accurist's too and have stripped them completely down to the bare frame (even have the schematics for them too). You can PM me as well if you have any questions about them too.

fishing the upper Potomac
The only spot I can think of that may be ok for a boat like that is Snyders Landing out by Sharpsburg. When I didn't have an outboard on my 16' jon boat, I could put my boat on there when the conditions on the Hancock river gauge are 4.5' or lower without any problems with just my 43lb thrust trolling motor. Any higher than that and you better have a back up battery or 2 if you plan on getting back up to the ramp, otherwise you're floating down to Shepardstown. The last I checked, the levels were running right around 2.5' which is well below normal flow. Not sure how stable a craft like that is but be sure to keep an eye out for jet boats. I've come across a few that have no regard for others and will go blowing right by you running flat out. The only other spot that MIGHT be ok that I know of is Williamsport but the boat traffic there is worse than Snyders Landing. Hope that helps some!

Any Musky Fisherman on here???
Big fan of the Bucher Top Raider myself! The Black Widow is a great choice! Don't overlook the baby loon color too! That one works great too! In-line bucktails, check out Figure 8's line up too!

Maryland's Who's who!
Brought some spreadable feta along last evening when Hellbenderman and I hit Black Hills for the late night fishing. Turned out I was using the wrong stuff! It was no match for his exotic cheese! I managed only 3 (biggest about 2 pounds, and all on a Hellbender crankbait! ;D ) and Hellbenderman caught about 7 (his biggest was somewhere between 3 1/2 and 4 pounds). The evening was cut short due to a t-storm that was rolling in quick! I learned a lot last evening! Thanks again for the invite! We will have to get out again some time! I do have pics but haven't got them downloaded from the camera yet. Will post them as soon as I can!

Sufix line
Another Sufix Seige fan here! I have it on most of my rods! Also use their braid and love it too! Haven't tried the fluro yet and I'm about to try out the deep crankin mono this evening (will have to keep an eye on it on the abrasion part).

Maryland's Who's who!
I'm still hiding back here in the distance. Got out once this week (til tonight) and got blanked in the hour and a half I was able to get out. :-/ Hoping to turn things around this evening! If not, there's tomorrow and possibly fishing a private pond with one of my friends sunday! Chris, as far as I know, I'm still all set for the night fishing on Wednesday! I can't wait!!! Now what the heck is all this talk of stinky cheese??? :-? And who set me up with bringing the Roquefort? LOL

Maryland's Who's who!
Thanks for the heads up Allen! Yeah, I'm well aware of what the muskies in the Potomac will do to bass gear! Never like that either but once in a while I'll break out my musky gear and have some fun! ;D

Maryland's Who's who!
Hey Allen, Do you happen to know who's stocking Blairs Valley? As I said above, the other musky stocking program (that I know of) is out in the very western part of the state. 2004 is the last year that I know of that MD has stocked muskies throughout the state. After that, PA had that problem with some virus in the muskies which is what stopped the program (at least that's what I was told).

Maryland's Who's who!
Welcome to THE boards MichaelA! If you're in Mongomery county, don't overlook Black Hills as an option for ya! We talk about it on here quite a bit and there are a few places to fish from shore. Keep in mind though, as the summer progresses most of the shorelines will get choked out with hydrilla limiting what you can throw. Glad you didn't get skunked at Blairs Valley wv! That's interesting about the musky you mentioned. I was under the impression that only tiger muskies were stocked in there and MD had stopped the musky stocking program back in 2004. Any fingerlings from then would be a lot larger than that by now.

People of Maryland....I want to fish!!
Hey evanj, I can tell you that DNR has published that the highest consentration of muskies in the Potomac river are in the washington county region. I've heard reports that they are starting to grow in numbers somewhat in the frederick county region as well. These are the pure strain muskies not tigers. DNR stopped stocking the tigers back around 2004. I have heard talk about them possibly stocking tigers again but only out in the far western region of the state.

People of Maryland....I want to fish!!
Nice! That would've been an awesome site for sure! Man I gotta hit my spot sometime soon! There's always at least one monster in that area! I just have to get in there when there's not 93,000 cat fishermen lining the bank! > If they only knew what I know! LOL! Have I showed you want happens to Ledgebuster spinnerbaits when a huge musky hits one of them and wins the battle? LOL!
-
People of Maryland....I want to fish!!
Sad but it happens.! Can't fight them too long in the warm water, you can do a lot of damage to them by doing that!
-
People of Maryland....I want to fish!!
Well???? How did you do? Was out of town until last evening. Otherwise I would've hit you up!
