Wdo you plan on fishing? The Dickerson power plant area always has muddy banks unless you follow the trail all the way up to the off limits area. Allen Brian and I hit Dickerson this morning. 12 degrees in the parking lot at 7:15 (I was a little late getting there, sorry again Brian!!!). They were pumping this morning and baitfish were breaking the surface but only 2 tiny bass were caught by Brian (one smallie and one largemouth). Levels were less than ideal by about a foot and a half. Think this had a lot to do with our lack of success. Was good getting out though. Thanks again Brian to meeting up with me, had a blast even with the lack of productivity! Oh yeah, almost forgot Allen. That "secret spot" SPEED is referring to is a private pond that my good friend MskSlyr gets he and I into once or twice a year. This pond has produced some real good bass that I believe MskSlyr has posted on here before.

You have NO idea how much I want to get in there with you guys. Just the thought of throwing the big stuff in there makes me giddy. ;D So there is a secret spot I do not know about huh? Wayne, you can go with me to that spot we hit last time. In March right after ice out as I cannot find a partner? Everyone seems to b**ch out because of the cold. My current 5 fish record is 22lbs 3oz for that place with March being the best time for big fish. Allen Hey Allen, SPEED and I have talked before about hitting there too (so I believe I know where you're referring to). If you need a partner to fish there, let me know too! I'd definitely be up for it! I've hooked some good ones in there but the best one I've landed is only 4 1/2lbs.

I don't know, it's been getting harder and harder to get in that place! The real sad part is, he's so quirky that he won't let anyone fish that pond outside of like a 2-3 month window which is WELL after the spawn is over. So the pics that MskSlyr has posted before aren't anywhere near their full potential during the prespawn. I'll let you know if he can extend the invite outside the few the land owner allows now.

Truely sad news! Never had a chance to meet him either but enjoyed reading his input on here. He will surely be missed! My thoughts and prayers go out to his family! R.I.P.

Thanks for the input guys! I really appreciate it! Has anyone bought one of the new models? From the specs I've seen, build wise, I believe they're identical to last years model. Has anyone had any side by side comparisons? Just curious.

I have 3 of last year/the year before models and absolutely love them. I know they've been revamped for this year and I see they took the limited lifetime warranty off them. So as a stated in the title, are they still a good choice or should I look for another rod???

Yeah, it's been several years since I've actually been impressed with the show, which is why I'm skipping it this year. The seminars haven't even made it worth while (with the exception of the side scan one I saw last year).

I have several of the rods and consider them ok for moving baits. IMO, if you want to stick with the BPS brands, the Bionic Blade would be a better option. Sorry I can't help ya with the reel, I don't own one or even know anyone that has one.

LOL Hellbender! You crack me up! Lee.MD, won't be attending this year. I've been really disappointed the last few years with the show so I've given up on it. I did get out saturday to freeze my giblets off! I hit a spot down below PEPCO that I hadn't been to in about 2 years. No takers there. The quest continues for the first bass of 2011!
