  1. Jealous I be! I swear, one of these days I'll actually be able to get back out there! Glad you 2 had some action last evening!
  2. Thanks for the heads up Nate! I hadn't heard anything about that before. Too sad, hopefully, they'll get it fixed soon! Like I had said, that was always a fun lake for me to fish!
  3. Growing up about 20 minutes away from where Nate is, I can't really add anymore lake wise that he hasn't listed. :-[ I did just hear about what's going on at Walker over the weekend. Very sad! Fun lake to fish (when its healthy)!
  4. Do yourself a favor and shop around. I had done some research on where I could find the best price on Gammy EWG. I don't have the list here at work but I can tell you Stamina Inc was one of the top 2 or 3 places (pricewise) I found to get these hooks! Bass Pro's prices were NOT even close. Oh, I was basing my search on a 50 QTY.
  5. Think I was in junior high before we ever got cable tv, never had AC growing up either. Always had running water and telephone (had to sit in the dinning room if you wanted to talk to someone on it though, LOL). My entertainment back then usually involved my bike, could be at several friends houses in minutes, could also be fishing at the river in 5 minutes or running around on the ridge with my BB gun in 5 minutes in the opposite direction of the river! Life was good! 8-)
  6. There was another thread several months back now where we talked about these little guys and there was some good feedback there. I've picked up a couple packs myself but have only had limited opportunities to use them. I have caught bass with them and had no problems getting a good hookset. With the advice from the other thread, the smaller models were easier to walk than the larger ones (I picked up the smaller ones). Castability, I've had no issues here either. Was able to get decent distance casting them into the wind as well as with the wind. Haven't used them enough to comment on the durability piece.
  7. I've heard rumor of it but I haven't been able to confirm it. Maybe one of the guys on the Meadow Grounds thread may know something.
  8. Welcome to THE boards bigdog! Wish I could help you out on the live bait too but I only use artificials. Like Brian said, hopefully you can find a place! Good luck and keep us posted on how you do!
  9. My 3 favorites are: Rattlehead, Picasso and Strike King.
  10. Come on SPEED! Don't hold anything back! Tell us how you really feel! LOL!
  11. Already had to pay for the penguin suit so no backing out of this one. LOL
  12. Welcome to THE boards BwickBassHunter! As wv mentioned, there's some good info shared on this thread (which is one of the reasons I created this thread!). Been a crazy spring for me but I hope to start contributing a little more soon!
  13. What a shame! I'm in a wedding that date so I won't be able to fish it. I hate that place! LOL!
  14. Nice! Yeah, I'm originally from down in Juniata county so its not that far away. I was up there twice last year and saw them building that massive place! I bet it does look really nice! Never fished up there when it was drawn down. Dad goes up ice fishing during the winter and has done pretty well then.
  15. Thanks for the heads up Nate! I haven't made it up there yet this year.
  16. Sayers isn't too far from you either! Fun lake to fish (IMO!).
  17. I use the USGS gauges. I track the gauge at Hancock since it tracks a couple of the areas I fish pretty close. Here's a link to all the gauges for MD: http://waterdata.usgs.gov/md/nwis/rt From what I'm seeing, it looks like sunday, the levels were about 3' higher than normal.
  18. Cool deal Bwickfisher! Think I told you before, outside of the one bass I caught in the beginning of May, I haven't caught a bass out of that place on any type of soft plastic! Smiths.R, Congrats on your new PB! That's one heck of a smallie! I bet that thing did fight like crazy!!! Got moved in to my new place over the weekend. Now just have to get settled in. Once that's all done, I really hope I can get some serious fishing in! I'm going through withdraws again! LOL!
  19. Cool deal! Congrats to Amada! That's a better than average bass for that place! What did she catch it on?
  20. Welcome to THE boards Browtine! Brian and I hit Big Pool for the first time this year at the beginning of May. Have the levels dropped back down to normal yet? When we were there, that was the highest I had ever seen the place. wv, sounds like you did a bunch of running and gunning there. Haven't been to the pond in Sharpsburg in quite some time. Can't believe its not choked out with grass yet.
  21. Well, I did what I said and hit Black Hills at lunch today. Decided to just fish off the tubes down at the backwash area. Only had my spinning rod with me and 2 boxes of plastics. Decided to go with a drop shot today. Managed two dinks (both were around 10") but the good thing is they were my first 2 bass ever on a drop shot! I did see a couple of bass in the pound and a half to two pound range as well as one I'm guessing right around the four and a half to five pound range. Those bigger ones were all just cruising around from tube to tube. I tried casting infront of a couple of them but no takers.
  22. Welcome to THE boards MountAiryEd! Ventured out last evening for a little while. Didn't have a lot of time so I only hit the C&O at Williamsport. No luck what so ever. Did see a few dinks cruising around near the shore but that was it. Headin to Black Hills at lunch time today. Hopefully, I can break out of this funk I'm in right now and report something! LOL!
  23. P8nt and BassScha, Welcome to THE boards!!!! Hey Chris, Haven't gotten out a lot lately. Getting ready to move so time hasn't been on my side. It's driving me nuts not getting out right now! Hopefully the crazyness will be over soon and I can get some fishing in!!! Good luck at Smith Mountain!
  24. Got in a little while ago from fishing Big Pool with Brian. That was my first time there this year and was thrown a curve ball from the start. Levels were about 3' or so high, can't remember ever seeing it that high before. Water temps were about 70 at the start (made it up to 72 by the time we were done). It was a dink-fest day. Nothing but little farts. Caught them on a variety of baits, spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, wiggle warts and senkos in depths from about 6 inches to about 6-7 feet. Had a good time Brian! We'll have to do it again sometime!
  25. Hit two little ponds today. Started off at Brunswick and managed one there. It was just a dink but caught it on a Yum Money Hound! First bass I've caught on it! Can't believe how choked that place was going to be with grass! Wasn't prepared for all of that. Ended up running over to Brownsville pond to wrap up the day. FINALLY found some bass on beds!!! Found 5 (that I could see) hanging out in the one area. Tried teasing them with a couple different jigs at first but they weren't having any of that. Ended up getting a 2-6 on a wacky rigged Strike King Shimey Stick. Took a pic of that one with my cell phone but it didn't turn out real well. Tomorrow, BrianinMD and I are hitting Big Pool!
