No kidding? See I have the exact opposite feeling on those two. Saw Denny at the '05 Classic in Pittsburgh and barely got 3 words out of him, seemed very distant to me. Kevin was great with the limited time I had getting his autograph and pics.

Headed up to PA over the weekend to go to the Spring Fishing Classic at the Harrisburg store. Bait Monkey hit me pretty hard while I was there! LOL! Kevin Van Dam was also there! I got a chance to get him to autograph my Quantum visor and got a pic taken with him! He also gave a 45 minute seminar on spinnerbaits and lipless cranks! What an AWESOME experience! Here's a couple pics I took. Enjoy!

If you go this route, take a look at Stamina Inc for components. They have a great selection of spinnerbait blades with reasonable prices IMO.

I would totally agree, but on that light of line it is still worth a wow! Don't get me wrong! I'm not trying to discredit the accomplishment! just saying the fight might not have been as long as you'd think with a ski that size in the cold temps. The best I've done on muskies with light line has been a 33 incher on 10# test. That one took a little while, water temps were somewhere around 50 when I pulled that one off.

Musky before very lethargic in cold water periods. I've caught a few in late november and early december and the fight just isn't there. These were river muskies too. You turn up the water temps on some of those monsters and the fight is a completely different story!! Trust me on that one!

Currently, I'm only carrying 4 different lipless crank models. Bill Lewis RatLTrap Cotton Cordell Super Spot Strike King Diamond Shad Strike King Red Eye Shad. I am looking to add a few of the XCaliburs to the mix as well. I've mentioned before, I think its necessary to not limit yourself to just 1 or 2 brands/models. Being able to carry a couple of each in 3 or 4 colors and sizes can be a big help in refining exactly what the bass wants is key. Each model will have their own unique sound, look and vibration. Being off slightly could be the difference in a great day, so-so day or a horrible day (IMHO).

January and February have been rough for me. I've got out a few times as I've mentioned before but so far not a single bass. :'( My luck getting to the more productive warm water discharge has yet to happen. At least the Bait Monkey has kept the nervous twitch away somewhat. I've added a few new baits and rods to the arsenal. It looks like I won't be able to get out fishing this weekend so looks like March will be my chance to hit the water. Hopefully the snow keeps melting and I can actually get the boat out!!! I'll keep my fingers crossed on that one. LOL Hey mudkart, did you happen to make it out the other week? If so, how did you do?

The only thing I took advantage of yesterday was daily special on the Red Eye Shad lipless cranks. I did use the 10% link on the other thread which saved me a little more. Stocked up on a few grass jigs and a couple jerkbaits I've wanted too.

I see. I read in an ESPN blog that the BassTraxx numbers are essentially eye-balled by newbs. It's possible I suppose that Ike has blanked, but not likely. While searching around the site for BassTraxx, I stumbled across one of the BLOGs that said Ike had caught his 4th or 5th bass that put him between Tak and KVD at that time. Time will tell.

Just a guess here, but I believe the sale went live yesterday afternoon around 4PM eastern time. I'd say it will probably switch over to day 2 sometime around there.

I actually had problems getting on about the same time you posted this. I had checked several times and it wouldn't let me on but I was able to get on here and BPS and several other sites too. Must have been an issue on their end. At least that was my take on it. I tried about a half hour or so later on and was finally able to get in. Glad that ordeal is over!!!
