Maryland's Who's who!
I swear the only thing that's at dscharge in williamsport is rockbass. I caught a couple in january and have been there a couple times this month and I'm getting hits on soft plastics from them and that's it. Can't put my finger on what's changed there but the smallies have seemed to have abandon that place. I tried hitting PEPCO again yesterday. Rode the whole way down there just to find out they never plowed the lane and couldn't get back to the parking lot. It's getting very frustrating!!! We are trying to get up to Dickerson on Thursday the 18th. Any info about the status of this lane would be appreciated. Thanks! Hey mudkart, Wish I could help you there! I haven't been there since sunday. :-/ As I mentioned, when I was there the lane had not been plowed yet. I would've given it a shot but there was another 4x4 blocking the only spot where you turn off on to the lane. Won't be able to make it back there any time soon. Good luck and let us know how you make out if you do go! If anyone else has an update, please chime in!!!

Yum Money Hound?
I just picked up 3 packs today of the smaller model. Looks like a 5/0 Monster will work nicely. Bassin Fin@tic, what hook are you using with the smaller one?

Spinn/buzz bait storage?
I like the Plano 3714 model. Holds 2 more spinnerbaits than the Falcon. It's only down side is my heavier spinnerbaits (3/4oz) have longer arms and don't fit in the box without bending the wires. From 1/8oz to 5/8oz, I'm good to go there.
-
Spinner Bait Weight
3/8oz is my starting point in most cases I face. I go up or down from there. My collection ranges from 1/8oz up to 3/4oz so it's not that difficult for me to make a switch when needed.

Maryland's Who's who!
Yeah, no kidding! I've wanted to get out a couple times now but it just isn't in the cards. No chance of getting the boat out for a while! I have to park the boat on the street and the blows have it blocked in for a while now. I really wanted to hit PEPCO at Dickerson the last sunday in January but the area was closed. :-? Not sure what was going on there. I know with that last melt we had, the gauge I follow went from somewhere around 7-8' to over 21'. Let's hope for a VERY slow thaw this time!!! I'd hate to see what the river levels would do if it melts like it did that last time.

Energy Pt
Another one of the "Quantum Crew" here ;D. The oldest Energy I have is a E640PT I have for my deep diving cranks. I have several Energy PT's in the E750PT and E770PT series as well. Love them all!

need suggestions for spinnerbaits
All of these mentioned above! I'll add Picasso spinnerbaits to the mix too.

Quantum hot sauce and cold weather
Big Quantum fan here but I can't stand the hot sauce. I used to use it when it first came out but once winter came, I found it gummed up real bad for me (even after a fresh cleaning and re-lube. I've switched over to Reel Butter too and have not had any where near the issues in cold water as I did the hot sauce.

The Mid-Atlantic is coming to an end.
I got ya beat on this one. Needed a single lowly green pepper last night. Went to the store and they were completely sold out? :-? Can't ever remember that being an essential for a blizzard! LOL

Giant!
No, this is a pure strain. Tigers do not get the red tint in the fins due to hemorrhaging like the pure strains do.

Spinnerbait collection completed
The right one for that situation! ;D ;D ;D ;D

Spinnerbait collection completed
Amen! I sometimes think spinnerbaits are worse than crankbaits. You can never have too many with all the different weights and blade configurations. The possibilities are virtuallyy endless! I have to agree as well. I'm pushing 90 right now and can think of several more I "need"! LOL! Check out the Rattlehead spinnerbaits! Awesome spinnerbait and a sponsor too! I'm really liking their single spin models!!!

quick question about muskie fishing
It's been quite some time since I've been on many musky forums. The majority of the ones I used to get on mainly talked about lake fishing for the toothy critters. Like Reelwise, I fish for musky too. Learned on the Juniata river up in PA and now I mainly fish for them up the upper Potomac.

ok how about braid on a spinning reel?
20# Sufix here. No problems for me!
-
Berkley Iron silk
I tried it once and that was all it took for me. Never finished the spool. HORRIBLE memory issues! One of the worst lines I ever used. Do yourself a favor and get rid of it!
-
sufix
I've used Elite, Siege and the braid. IMO, Elite has a little more memory than Siege. All my mono rigs are spooled up with Siege. I did pick up a spool of the Deep Crankin line but haven't tried it. There was another thread a while back and someone had mentioned that it is on the brittle side if I remember correctly. Not sure if I'll give it a go or not. I do want to give their fluro a shot to see how it compares with the BPS XPS.

Maryland's Who's who!
Cool deal! I'll have to keep an eye out for them and I'll have to bring the camera along too. Thanks for the heads up! I was out yesterday here in Williamsport at the warm water discharge area. You would've thought it was the first day of trout season. The anglers were lined up about 5' apart across the wall. Needless to say, I didn't fish there. Went down stream a little ways to a couple spots I've caught before. Sadly, no takers. At least I was able to get out.

Maryland's Who's who!
Yeah, I know what you mean. I was over there on wednesday to see how things were. What part of the park are you seeing eagles? I've seen ospreys over there (they've scared the snot out of me diving in the water before) but not eagles.

Used Plastics - Keep or Toss?
Great stuff IMO! I use it mostly on my Rage Tail Shad and Toads! The little bit of the Mend-It I've used repairing the legs on these baits has more than paid for the bottle already and I have plenty left.

Giant!
You're right, it wasn't released. There's pics in the Field and Stream like that shows the musky in a lab somewhere. Most of my biggest ski's get released, unless I can't CPR them. A small keeper size (I'd get banned from saying this on a musky forum) I do keep from time to time. Musky are great eating! It's a toss up between them and walleye on which one I think taste better. I can remember when i was younger and dad caught 1 or 2 that year and we ate them. What i can remember i liked. I dont know if i could compare it to Walleye or Sauger though, those are mighty tasty. To me and a handful of anglers that have had sample some of the musky I've cooked said its close. I've never had them side by side though to do a completely fair judgement though. The only semi-complaint I have with the musky fillets is the huge Y bone that's in the center of the fillet. But they do pull out quite easily after its cooked.

Maryland's Who's who!
What's up MD? Anyone been out lately. Most of the lakes and ponds around me are still iced over but I've managed to hit the warm waters near me just once so far this year. No takers besides bluegills and rock bass thinkin they're going to eat baits over half their size. LOL! I'm actually thinkin about headin out shortly before this front moves in to see if there's any takers.

Cell ringtone
Depends on who's calling! LOL! A couple are the Quantum Rap, Stewie Griffin's Mum-mommy-mom, BSG prelude, mahna mahna and the peanuts theme.

Reel Oil
Reel Mechanic's grease and oils are top of the line! I'm a Quantum user and can not stand Hot Sauce! From my experience, in moderate temps it's ok but on the two extremes (below 40 and above 90) it either gums up or gets way too thin. When I clean my own reels, I use Ardent's Reel Butter and Reel Grease.

Brush Baby?
Heck, I wasn't sure they were still in production. LOL! I have 3 but rarely use them. Knowing what I do about one of the lakes I fish, I may have to break them out this year and see how they do.
