  1. 22inches, 6lbs 9oz (the one in my avatar) caught on a texas rigged BPS Triple Ripple lizard, prespawn.
  2. Sounds like a plan jake. If this one is as much as a disappointment as the last one (and I hope it isn't), it'll take nothing short of KVD being there to get me to go back again! LOL
  3. Hey fool. Let me know if you want to go. I'll keep ya posted SPEED. I'll have to figure out if its a weekend I have my daughter or not.
  4. Hey Holden, have you always had the flea market at the Ag Center? I've lived in Washington county now for about 9-10 years (Sharpsburg, Boonsboro, Williamsport) and don't remember seeing advertisements for it before. Can you give any insight on the types of tackle? Just lures? Rods? Reels?
  5. Well shoot! Sorry to hear that Brian! I'll post a report on how I do. Levels are up but they're on the falling side. We'll see how that affects them. I think with the temps, they should be discharging so I'm hoping for some decent activity.
  6. I'll see if I can save ya a spot Brian! I'm hoping to get to Dickerson tomorrow morning!
  7. Nice write up Hellbenderman! Like you before you took that dip, I thought BH was a clear lake for sure looking down in from the boat. I have ventured into the cove you're talking about a few times and only managed a couple dinks and 2 tiny musky out of there. The majority of my success up that area of the lake has come from deeper diving cranks (12-15' range). I definitely want to get my boat out there in 2010 to put the knowledge you've shared with us to the test! There's another area of the lake that I've been very interested in scouting further as well. As you go back past the channel (there at the visitor's center), the lake obviously opens up. On the left hand side going back through, there is a large flat that drops into deep water . On the far side of that flat, the old creek channel comes over against that side of the flat (if I remember correctly). To me, that area seems to hold a lot of potential too. Especially since the flat itself gets choked out with hydrilla in the summer. Those outer weed edges seem like they should produce some quality bass! I just need to put the time on the water to test my theory out!
  8. A Christmas Story gets top notch in my book with Christmas Vacation coming in second.
  9. Munkin, I know exactly what you're talking about! I was out this afternoon at the power plant at Williamsport and caught 3 of those little buggers while drop shotting! Can't even begin to guess how many hits I had. wv, I'd say the majority of the baits I loose on the Potomac are while fishing from shore. In the boat, I don't loose quite as many. But a lure retriever has saved me a lot of money in crankbaits and jerkbaits! I'll second Munkin's suggestion on the lakes he listed. Big Pool is even one of my favorite little lakes to fish! Speaking of washington county lakes, has anyone fished Blairs Valley lately? It's been over a year since I've fished there! Merry Christmas to all the Maryland and surrounding area anglers! May Santa fill all your stocking with all the gear you need for the upcoming year!
  10. Mike, I feel your pain! No room in the driveway for my boat so it sits right out front on the street. Needless to say, mine's snowed in for a while til the 3' of snow piled up around it melts away. :-/ Depending on the rain we get, it may not muddy up the Potomac too much. That last spike (5' up to 13.5') we had gave it some color but it was still fishable so there is hope! ;D Still planning on getting out on foot a time or 3 yet before the year wraps up. Hoping to hit the warm water areas for smallies. I haven't made it out but a few times and have been striking out in December. So I'm looking forward to keeping my little monthly streek intact! Hellbenderman, I've started prepping for the technique I want to work on next year. Drop shotting. I picked up a Quantum Energy spinning rod 7' MF and matched it up with a Quantum Tour spinning reel I bought off the flea market. I also got a few packs of Berkley hand pour worms, Maverick hand pours and Strike King 3X Elaztech finesse worms. I'm mostly looking at bagging some smallies with it to start and we'll see what happens from there. Started messing around with the carolina rig as well back in the fall on the largemouth side too so I'll be boosting my confidence with it too. Haven't made up my mind on any new destinations yet. Just mostly my local spots here in Maryland and a few up in PA as well. I will have my boat on Black Hills a few times in 2010 for sure!!!!
  11. SOLUTION #3 Warm water discharge areas!
  12. Hey trevor, Welcome to THE boards! Check out the MD Who's Who thread at the bottom of the page right now. I started that thread for us Marylanders to get to know each other, figure out where everyone is located and share information. There's been a lot of info shared there already.
  13. There are only 2 grips that I know of that can be IGFA certified. They are the Boga and the Rapala grips. I have a Rapala grip that I usually only use when I'm musky fishing. I've had it for a couple years and don't regret paying the extra $$ for it.
  14. 14-3, Cowboys! Come on Dallas!!!!!
  15. Yeah hjerk, like I said, I was disappointed with last years as well. In years past, they had the Berkley tank there and the pros would give their seminars from there. Made for a much better presentation than that little corner they had us in last year. :-? Hopefully, Todd and Ish are as approachable as some of the pros I've talked to in the past! I got some great one on one time with David Walker and Marty Stone on two different shows. I even got some good information from Woo Daves on another one too. If the 2010 show is another disappointment, it'll take something major to get me back there again!
  16. Just an early heads up for everyone. The 2010 MD fishing expo is January 14-17 at the MD State Fair Grounds in Timonium, MD. The 2 pro's that will be there are Todd Faircloth and Ish Monroe. Both are there on saturday only. I might actually have to head over to see them give their seminars. I was pretty disappointed with the show this year and thought about not going back but with Todd and Ish being there, they may have changed my mind!

Love the weather forecast on weather.com. They're calling for 10-20" here. Hope it snows its butt off! I'll be fishing the warm waters tomorrow!!! Should have the whole place to myself! ;D
  18. Great write up Chris! My Spinnerbait setup is a 7' MH BPS rod paired with a Quantum Energy PT baitcaster (5.1:1) spooled up with 17lb Sufix Siege.
  19. Banned, shunned and even lynched in some cases! LOL! That's a BIG no-no on those boards!
  20. There are 3 brands that I use most of the time, they are Strike King Premire Plus, Picasso and Rattlehead (one of our sponsors here). I've been using the Rattleheads a lot more lately. I really like the way they come through the grass! I was ripping them through some really thick hydrilla and rarely had to clean the bait off even when using the colorado bladed bait! They're even on sale right now! Check them out! http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1259716887
  21. I'm the same way, can't stand ole Jerry!!! Any goofball that gets rid of a legend (Mr Landry) the way he did and then while we're on top (again) cans Jimmy??? Just not playin with a full deck there! Been a Cowboys fan since back in the mid 70's or so. No bandwagon fan here. I've been through the good times and the bad. Our time WILL come around again!
  22. I just picked one up from TW over the Thanksgiving sale they had. I bought the 7'MF for drop shotting. I've only used it a couple times so far but I really like it. It's sensitive enough for me to tell what's going on down there and it has decent backbone if I want to use it for throwing other plastics. Definitely a good rod IMO!
  23. Wow! Thanks for the feedback Dwight! Like you, one of my good friends ties ours. Neither of us have had an issue with the 65lb fluro leaders, but I'll definitely pass that info onto him as well. He and I have both landed mid to upper 40" class muskies with the ones we use. Better safe than sorry! Speaking of length of the leaders, my friend uses 12" and I prefer 18". I've had a couple larger muskies go into a death roll and cut me off on the 12" size when I used them. Since I upgraded the length, I haven't had an issue.
  24. Got an early Christmas gift from my brother. Part of the package he sent me was 2 packs of these Maverick Hand Pours! I was just curious if anyone has used them. Anyone that hasn't seen them, Tackle Warehouse has them. http://www.***.com/descpageMSB-MSST.html
