  1. As far as smallies go, I haven't tied into anything decent this year! Now that I have an outboard again (LONG story), I can expand my range a little more. I was pretty restricted for a while hitting the river from the boat. Williamsport, Snyders and Dargan's were about the only areas "trolling motor friendly". I've heard good things about the Dam 3 area but I haven't fished it! :-/ Guess I have to make that a priority!!!! The pond in Sharpsburg is in sad shape (choked with grass) but there are a few good bass in there. I've been told, there's a pond on the battlefield that you can fish and its has smallies in it. I haven't ventured out to get its exact location yet though. Might have to pop in to the visitor's center and see what they can tell me. Not sure if you're aware of Greenbrier park or not. That's not too far from Shepardstown. There's some good largemouths in there! That's about all I can think of off the top of my head that's not too far away.
  2. Nothing major this time. I just want to take care of it before it decides to try to become something major! I had it out today so its not like I can't go places. Its all good! Darts over fishing???? Priorities Brian! Priorities! LOL!
  3. Almost forgot to mention this! This coming wednesday is a late night fishing at Black Hills! If everything goes well (getting the part I need for the truck), I'll be there! As of right now, I'll be fishing by myself (again, if everything goes well). Not sure what time I'm going to get there yet, but I'll probably fish until 11 or so.
  4. Hey spothogg, What areas do you fish? Nothing specific, just wondering if we may have crossed paths before. Sadly, my boat hasn't seen much action yet this year (truck problems) so I feel your pain with time on the water!!!!
  5. For me, I only use plastic trailers in stained to muddy water conditions. I do this to add a little extra bulk to the bait. I tend to use a 3-4" grub to mine when I need.
  6. Speaking only on the spinnerbait side, I do experiment with different blade combinations: double willow, willowleaf/colorado, oklahoma and singles (willowleaf and colorado). Blade color is another medium I tweak as well. Gold/gold, gold/silver, silver/silver, chart, white and metallics (red, blue and purple). These combinations do make a difference on certain days for sure! My top 4 or 5 spinnerbait bass have all come on baits that had either 1 or both blades that were the metallic red I mentioned above. Reading through your list, it appears I need to add a couple more colors to my stock! Hmmmmm, time to visit Stamina's site I believe! ;D
  7. WOW! Sorry Brian! That's really messed up! Those ex's definitely have a way of pushing the wrong buttons!
  8. Hey warwick, As I mentioned on the MD thread, check your PM's! Welcome to THE boards SUbassJP! Do you get out much on the Potomac at Shepardstown? I lived in Sharpsburg for several years and know some of that area fairly well!
  9. Hey warwickforlife, Keep in mind, I live in Williamsport so yes, I fish further west than Harpers Ferry. Mostly up above dam 3 to dam 4 but I have ventured out to dam 5 and a handful of places west of that yet. I'll send ya a PM shortly!
  10. Welcome to THE boards SWH! That's a decent walleye warwick! Surveys from earlier in the year predicted very good potential for citation sized (26"+) walleye this year. Teeth??? Nah, they only have a couple! ;D Can't help you out with that section of the Potomac, I haven't ventured down that far yet. I could probably give you some good suggestions on what baits would work but can't help with the areas.
  11. No worries! Glad I could help! It was actually a mission to find it! It was driving me nuts until I figured it out! LOL!
  12. Took me a little while but I found it! Looks like its the Quantum Heat. I found the schematic on Southwestern parts.com (if the link doesn't work). http://www.southwesternparts.com/code/viewschematics.php3 Looks pretty straight forward! If you're pretty handy with baitcasters, you shouldn't have any problems at all since you're just doing a cleaning. If you'd need parts, I've ordered from Southwestern a couple times with no problems!
  13. dmac, I got my last blade from TW. They have both the 2 bladed and 3 bladed props on there. The 3 bladed is the 3 1/2". Here's the links to both 3 bladed: http://www.***.com/descpageMGA-MGRM.html 2 bladed: http://www.***.com/descpageMGA-MGRPP.html Hope that helps!
  14. One other place to check is Stamina, Inc www.staminainc.com
  15. Hey dmac, Your trolling motors looks similar to mine (which I bought in '97). My guess would be its a 3 1/2". But if you remove the prop and measure the base, you'll know for sure. I have a 3 bladed prop for mine but that is my back up. I prefer the 2 bladed. At least with my 2 props, I noticed a definite drop in speed going from a 2 to a 3.
  16. A last minute decision on the way home landed me at the pond in Middletown this evening. I decided to see if the top water bite was still on but alas, no takers. So I switched up to a lipless crank (actually one I had just got in the flea market) and landed 2 right off the bat. They went 1 1/2lbs and 2lbs. And then the bite slowed for a while. Managed 2 more (dinks) on the lipless crank before it got dark. I decided to give the top water one more chance before I left and hooked into another 2lbr. That was a pretty cool bite! It didn't come up and slam it like they were the other day. It sucked it down and the rod loaded up! Put up a pretty good fight too. I actually thought it was bigger than it was, it was fighting about twice its size! LOL.
  17. Tell them Matt!!!! ;D And I'll second that! A big NO on the Cowgirls signing him! I've heard the Redskin fans at work talking about Vick. I could easily see Mr. Snyder signing him. Washington has already said they have no interest. Well, I see what I get by listening to the skins fans at work! LOL
  18. Tell them Matt!!!! ;D And I'll second that! A big NO on the Cowboys signing him! I've heard the Deadskin fans at work talking about Vick. I could easily see Mr. Snyder signing him.
  19. Cool deal! Congrats! Its been FAR too long since I've fished Marburg! Hopefully, before the year is up, I'll make it over and up there!
  20. Thanks Matt! The artist that did it Alfie Lamberger of Marks of the Spark Tattoos in Frederick, MD. My friend (MskSlyr) recommended him to me especially for the detail that he puts into his work. He definitely went above and beyond what I was expecting!!!
  21. Brent, that's all you! I've had the real deal in my fingers before! That's one memory I'd like to forget! LOL! But you've never had 2 hooks in your finger at one time!!! (making it virtually impossible by odds alone to hook yourself again, LOL ) September 4, 2004. Landed a 45" musky. Was not properly geared for hook removal and when I went to remove the treble hook from the musky, it threw its head around and drilled 2 of the hooks into my pointer and middle fingers. Is that close enough? ;D Thanks Fishing Cowgirl!
  22. Thanks all! Brent, that's all you! I've had the real deal in my fingers before! That's one memory I'd like to forget! LOL!
  23. Thanks! I think I mentioned a while back in the thread, I'd been looking for a couple years now. I wanted exactly what you said, something different. Even the guy that did it said he's never seen any close to mine! I hadn't thought about the shirts! I hope I don't ruin my work clothes! ;D ;D ;D
  24. LOL! No preach4bass, they're not that big. They're about 7/0 though. The original pick was of 4/0 Gammys. To get it to scale so the hooks matched up, he had to go a little larger. Like I said before, I'm really happy with how it turned out! My only problem now is, having to keep it out of the sun for 2 weeks!
  25. basser89 replied to SPEEDBEAD.'s topic in Everything Else
Congrats Wayne! Have a great time in Jamaica! Only took me about 2 months or so to get used to mine.
