Ledgebuster spinnerbaits
Strike King makes the Bottom Dweller which comes in 3/4 and 1oz. Picasso also makes a 3/4oz spinnerbait. I have to agree with RW, Ledgebusters are awesome baits!

Not sure if you've talked to Paul yet but I just got info on the first 2 tournaments at MG. June 27th and July 25th are the first 2. Both are 1-9 tournies too!

Is it safe to use Quantum Hot Sauce on my Pfluger Trion.
I've been using Ardent's Reel Butter grease and oil and like it! The other one I would recommend is our very own Reel Mechanic's oil and grease! It's definitely a great product as well!

question for quantum lovers
Nice review A-Jay! I've heard mixed reviews on the Code. My only experience with one is a store model at BPS. I have to agree with A-Jay, it didn't feel as solid as my Quantums (Accurists and Energy PT's). By the way Reel Mech, my Accurist PT I sent you quite some time ago is STILL holding up great and its almost as smooth as my new Energy PT's I have!

I'm a Quantum reel user and I won't put that junk in them either!

Electric only reserviors in PA
Don't waste your time at Pinchot! There's no bass in there! Don't bother with Hawghead bait shop either, there's nothing worth while in there either! : A couple years back, we had a small BR get together there. Got to meet a couple really great guys then!

Maryland's Who's who!
Thanks wifisherman! That guy fought like you wouldn't believe! He kept bull dogging me for a while before I got him to the surface (and he still kept trying to get to the bottom). I would have sworn it was a lot bigger than 16 1/2" had he got off. ;D Sorry to hear about the motor breaking down on you! That really stinks! Hope you get it up and running again soon! Had we had issues with my outboard, I would have had to let my partner out so he could go get the trailer and meet me down at the next ramp down, the current was that strong in the area of the Potomac we were fishing. There's no way I could have put the boat back on the trailer with the trolling motor only!

Hmmm.....Can you say "Advantage - Speedbead/BK42" ? Someone must think that all I have in my tacklebag is just spinnerbaits! LOL! I've caught a few nice ones out of there on buzzbaits too! But I won't mind when you finish 2nd to me! Like you said earlier, you're just donating your money! ;D ;D ;D

Jerk Bait hook set - need some help
About the only time I throw jerkbaits is for smallies. There are 3 brands that I use, Smithwick Rattlin Rogue, BPS XPS jerkbait (the discontinued model :'( ) and the Bomber Long A (listed in the order of preference too). I typically throw them on a 6'6" BPS spinning rod (MH) spooled with 20lb Sufix braid. I've found the same thing as RW, the bass hook themselves. All I do is sweep the rod to the side to keep constant pressure on them (no need for me to "set the hook"). I do try to keep the rod tip low during the fight to keep them from jumping.

Dang! Ya beat me too it! LOL

Yep! Here ya go: http://www.***.com/descpage-O5139.html Close, but I'm still not convinced. Unless the point on my hook has been bent outwards. The Owner still seems to have the point in line with they eye shank. In fact it says it in the description. Ok, I'm not giving up now! LOL! Let's try this: http://www.ownerhooks.com/pages/products/hooks/basshooks.htm Check out the Wide Gap Plus. Let's remember, I'm a Gamakatsu user! ;D

Maryland's Who's who!
Nice bass Mike! Glad to see you're still tearin them up! wifisherman, hope you had a good outing over the weekend! I've made it out on occassion now and again. Mostly fishing the C&O canal at Williamsport. I've managed a few dinks here and there on a variety of baits (7" worms, Rage Toads, Skitter Pop and of course a spinnerbait). I've heard there are some solid largemouths in there but hadn't seen any until over the weekend. Saw a solid 5lbr cruising, unfortunately she wasn't interest in the jigs I was throwing but that was a good sign. This past saturday, a very good friend of mine and I hit the upper Potomac for some smallie action. Luckily, the water had toned down some and was a fishable stained color. Between the 2 of us, we scrapped out 10 smallies on jerkbaits and cranks. Our biggest one went 16 1/2" and was caught on a crankbait. I felt pretty good about our results since it was only the second time we hit this area on my boat. The other good part of the outing was this was the first time I had the chance to test out the outboard I picked up. It ran great! Here's a pick of the biggest smallie we boated.

Good one Muddy! LOL I was just on Tackle Warehouse and have to agree with Dock Master, it looks like an Owner EWG.
-
Name this hook
I only use Gammys. I went through my line up of wide gap hooks and it doesn't look like a standard EWG, EWG Monster or a Deep Throat Wide Gap so you can definitely eliminate those from your choices.

Howdy from Harrisburg
Welcome to THE boards! I grew up just up the road from you on the Juniata river, residing down the road from you now. ;D

Line Conditioners
The memory reduction is the big one for me too! I have noticed a little more distance on my casts as well!
-
What is the smoothest line for long casting?
My recommendation would be Sufix Seige with KVD L&L.

Electric only reserviors in PA
My Dad has one of those maps too. I can't remember where he said he got it. If Robby (or anyone else) can't help, I'll ask him this evening.

new rod and reel setup, which line?
x2...that rod wont handle braid...atleast not for long it will tear up your guides,go with cxx like big rick said or berkley 100% fluorcarbon is nice and for a cheap line yozuri hybrid is excellent. I have 2 Tourney Special spinning rods that I thow 20# Sufix braid on. I've used braid on these rods for the past 3-4 years. I had a concern with the braid cutting groves in the guides as well so I check them regularly. I haven't had an issue with mine. As for the lure selection, I don't think you're going to be happy using that rod for plastics. IMO, there's just not enough backbone in them for a good hookset. It'll make an ok crankin rod for sure. I prefer a MH for spinnerbaits but that's just my style. Hope this helps!

Electric only reserviors in PA
This might help some: http://www.fish.state.pa.us/lakes.htm I did a quick check and the couple lakes that I looked at tells wheather its an electic only lake or not. I can think of 8 off the top of my head that I've fished.

Tattoo design
One of my fishing partners has several tat's and he highly recommends the place I'm going. The guy is really good (judging from my fishing partner's). Thanks for the tip on the thickness! That's actually I thing I've been trying to figure out. Muddy, its a shame we always do the get togethers in the cooler months, I had no idea you had any. I'm placing mine where a polo shirt will be able to cover it up. So there's no problem with being able to cover it up for work. But then, I am rather fortunate on where I work because its I casual environment and there are a few co-workers that have tat's as well.

Thanks for the insight Brent! I'll keep that in mind and I'll talk that out with the guy when I go in.
