  1. I had DVR'd it and finally got to see it last evening. It surprised me Guido didn't win. Fish did have me rolling on a couple comments.
  2. Limetreuse (Chartreuse/green back)
  3. I just started ordering from TW this year and have been extremely happy with my orders! I goofed up on my memorial day sale order (didn't get the discount) and emailed their customer service. They credited my account with the discount I would have received! There are very few items they don't carry that I have to look somewhere else. But overall, TW ROCKS!!!
  4. I've always heard good things about Hart's spinnerbaits. I haven't used any due to availability around here. I love Hart's Hartbeater buzzbaits! Can't comment on the Leverage, haven't tried those. One other spinnerbait you may want to consider is Rattlehead spinnerbaits.
  5. That's odd, I've commented on several spinnerbait trailer posts. :-? Spinnerbait trailer hooks, always! Plastic trailers, I only add a plastic trailer in stained to muddy water. When I do, I'll add a bulky sinlge tailed grub to give the bait a bigger profile and move more water.
  6. For a Smallie Beaver ---> Owner EWG size 1 For a Sweet Beaver ----> Owner EWG sise 2/0 or 3/0 When you rig the bait like that if you allow a slightly slack line as it sinks the bait sinks and glides away from you. It allows you to fish under cover and to maintain the bait in the same spot because it returns to it. Also, you have to watch your line as the bait sinks, if you stop feeling the bait dragging the line, if you see the line stopping before it should, lift the rod tip and set the hook, I 'd say that half of the hits the bait gets when rigged that way take place as the bait sinks. Thank ya Sir!
  7. The majority of my success with them has been pitching them. I'll use the lightest weight I can get away with. If I don't get a hit on the fall, I'll use short hops with varied pauses along the bottom until I'm out of the strike zone. Sounds like I'm going to have to give Raul's weightless rig a shot too! Raul, what size hook are you using to rig it that way? Just curious.
  8. I'll be honest, I haven't tried it on spinning gear so I can't comment on how it acts on spinning gear. I use it on all my baitcasters. I love it! When I spool up new line, I'll spray it on about once every 6-8 turns of the handle. After that, if I use the reel often then I really don't need to freshen it up much. If the reel sits for a little while, I'll shoot it 2-3 times the night before an outing. Great product, IMO!
  9. Rod: Quantum Energy PT model QEC706F Reel: Quantum Energy PT model E760PT Line: Suffix Siege 14# (MAYBE 17#) Smoke green
  10. I suggestion is a Quantum Energy PT QEC767FT. Great rod, IMO and with the TW sale its only $93 and some change! Hmmmm, might need another one myself! LOL
  11. This is JUST a guess but I can tell you the pond has gotten worse since they started using the algaecide to help "control" the grass. I wonder if they're treating the pond with something too strong and this is the affect its having. I'll see if one of my contacts at DNR can shed some light on the situation. I agree with you VAfisherinMD, it was pretty sad that I couldn't even throw a weightless plastic worm without getting 4 pounds of crap wadded up on the front of the bait. :-/
  12. Cool deal Boett! Glad to hear they're still hitting down that way! I hit Middletown the end of last week and WOW!!! That place looks like crap! I can't believe this time 2 years ago, I was tearing them up on a Spittin Image and now you can't fish much more than a frog or toad! I did manage 2 small ones on a Spro Bronze Eye frog in there (biggest might have gone a pound and a half). Good luck Brian!
  13. Ah, a spinnerbait bite! Nice! Learning the lake is half the battle! Tear 'em up next time!

Are you talking about frogs or toads? Frogs like Spro's Bronze Eye Frog or toads like Strike King's Rage Tail Toad. Haven't had any problems with my Spro frog rollig over on me. When I fish the Rage Tail Toad and see that it rolls on me I pause it for a second or two and it will right itself, if it doesn't then that means I don't have the hook centered in the bait!
  16. I had this sent to me in an email. Pretty cool spin on Toto's Africa! Check this out: http://videos.komando.com/2009/06/18/african-thunderstorm/
  17. Yeah, I remember that well. That was pretty messed up! Another thing that popped in my head was the "wonderful" rod selection they had while the Spring Classic was going on. There was BPS rods and BPS rods, and BPS rods, did I mention BPS rods. None of which was what I was looking for.
  18. I'm siding with Muddy on this one on the Harrisburg store. I'll go there for the Get-together like we did back in the spring but overall, IMO, that store sucks. Can't stand the lay out, my Brother and I both have had associates there tell us that they don't have anything remotely close to what we were talking about (and they were BPS brand baits). I've gone to the store in Baltimore with internet deals and they've matched them every time. I think that even if the Harrisburg store was closer than the Baltimore store, I'd still go to the Baltimore store! I'm not a fan of the BPS On-line store, if I need to order something on-line, I'll use TW!
  19. My Dad's home made tops everything in my book. I have one that comes close but its not quite there. Store bought, there's a mountain berry cobbler that I get from Sheetz but I can't remember who makes it.
  20. It's actually not that hard. Tighten down the drag and you'll see a "black thing" that dmac is talking about. Push it down towards the reel and spinn the handle off.
  21. How come I knew the answer before I even opened the thread!
  22. Hey Natural, My problem with Hot sauce is at both ends of the temp range. In cold temps (below 45), I found that it gummed up on me. On the other end of the thermometer (about 85+), it thins out and really caused the reel to scream on a cast (even the first time out after a cleaning). Any where between those 2 ranges I mentioned, I didn't have a problem with it.
  23. Yep! Check here: http://www.bassresource.com/bass_fishing_forums/YaBB.pl?num=1245208124
  24. Just remember..... the bass are to stay on the outside of the net to give them a sporting chance! ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D
