Major Difference In Cheap Reels And Expensive Ones (Other Than Gear Ratio)
my Tournament Lite with a 95 mm carbon fiber handle and Revo large EVA knobs weighs 5.7 ounces and casts great .the braking system is awesome . There is no flex in the reel , as a matter of fact I've caught 12 lb. Catfish on it and it worked flawlessly . Definitely gonna get another as I was thinking of getting a BB1 pro but I'm not , just gonna get another Tournament Lite ....

Bass Harasser?
those baits are hit or mostly miss , no quality control on them , they were a flop cause most of the baits wouldn't swim right , seems no engineering were put into them . it's basically just a similar looking Hudd bait that is nowhere close to a Hudd , if that makes sense . in my opinion , if they were for sale at $1.00 each , i wouldn't buy it ...........

i think he meant it was a 3/0

Braided Line And Swimbaits
i don't know butch or care to know him , i have seen his '' butch brown rigging '' , i have tried it myself but used an Owner ST-41 in size 1/0 , used it on that bait ( a ROF 16 ) and didn't care for the wire and crimps , maybe one day i'll try it with 80 lb. braid . hooksets are , to me , the same as any other bait pretty much , but of course timing plays a role .

What Lb Braided Test Should I Use On My Spinning Reel?
like others have said , use some 10 lb. braid . the 10 lb. is pretty strong and should hold up well . if you need more abrasion resistance , step up to 15 lb. , for spinning rod usage , to me , 20 lb is overkill ( if i need 20 lb. braid , i'd be fishing my baitcaster ) . check out some Sufix 832 in low vis green

Braided Line And Swimbaits
the reason for the butch brown top hook treble mod is not for hookset , it's so the bass can't use the stock top hook to use it to throw the hook/bait ( using the weight of the bait as leverage ) . and yes , line stretch does have a LOT to do with hooksets !! you need a fast hookset ,not a sweeping hookset on a hudd , you have to move that 4-5 oz. bait quickly in the basses mouth and drive the hook in thier mouth . for slow moving baits like the hudd , braid is the wrong choice , go with a low stretch , strong co-polymer line ...

Broken Hook?
step up to some Owner hooks ! when i first started fishing i used to use gamakatsu hooks but quickly realized that they don't stay sharp and flex a lot unless your using the ''superline'' hooks but those things wire size is way too thick . made the change to Owner hooks and have NEVER had a problem with them . they cover all my fishing needs ...

Beefing Up A Lews Tourney Pro?
all you need to do is choose the right gearing for the lures you plan to use for the baits you throw . you can always get different gearing even though it's not offered for that particular reel , just buy it directly from Lew's and they will put in the gear set you want for an extra $20 ! that's what i'm gonna do for the BB2 pro , it only is offered in 7.1:1 gears for the left handed model but Lew's will put in 5.1:1 gears for me for the extra $20 . i imagine the Tournament pro will handle whatever you throw at it , plus it's lighter than the Super Duty by 1.6 ounces !!!

Question About Fishing Lay Down Trees In The Creek.
definitely fish creek bends , inlets , shallow areas that are close to deep water , and look for current . i like to fish down stream of it and cast my bait so it flows with the current into some kind of structure where the bass will probably be located to ambush it !!!

Carrot Stix Pro Grade Ti
the way that rod is so durable made me used to doubt people saying they were breaking all the time ! i was kinda hoping it did so i could of traded it in for the 7'8'' H !! but that rod is pretty indestructible say what you want about Minima guides , all i spooled on that rod was braid and no problems whatsoever ...

Carrot Stix Pro Grade Ti
for you , it would make one heck of a frog rod !!!
-
Carrot Stix Pro Grade Ti
i still have a 7'XH that i used for throwing buzz frogs and other baits , the rod is pretty light and i must say , pretty strong !! love the blank it's built on , if it was a 7'6'' or longer , i would strip it down and have it rewrapped !!! as of now , it just sits in the corner . BTW , it's one of the originals ...

Looking At Two Rod Blanks
my first custom rod was a Rainshadow ISWB 945 and followed a week later with a Rainshadow ISWB 946 , both swimbait rods . the 946 i got rid of , the 945 i still have but didn't fish it for awhile but recently lengthened the handle myself , now it's a dedicated catfish rod . both blanks were moderate action which i don't like . from those rods that i really didn't research much about , i learned to really find what i want out of the blank and components that i want so i have applied them to all my future builds . now i fish with rods that fit my style of fishing and what baits i throw .

Minimum Guide Ring Nesessary
for guide neck strength , i don't think the AmTack heavy duty micro guides can be matched ! i always worry about Fuji's folding up like a pair of pants !

Fall Wake Swimbaits
i don't know about back east , but out here in California , most all of the resovoirs stock rainbow trout . the bass out here love them so throwing big trout imitations is mandatory !!! i like to fish the entire water column ..

Sunline Or Seaguar
i use Sunline Sniper and Sunline Shooter Metan Green , but if truth be told , i would use nothing but Toray Super Hard Strong if they sold it in 200 yd spools ($30-35 for a 100 meter spool is too much for me !) at a reasonable price . best flourocarbon line i have ever used , like using an invisible sinking braid !!!
