it should work , it's all about the stop and go of feathering the spool .

you have to remember that big fish have thicker jaw structure than 2-5 lb. bass , if you get a good hook penatration through cartilidge , you can boat flip them but i usually lip them , i guess you got a lesson learned . sorry to hear you lost a good fish

been wanting to get some thread to match a Phenix Ultra 707 ML blank , so far i've been having black thread wraps on my rods but would like to match the blank color , so far i have been looking at Pro-Wrap color fast #850 - Storm Cloud . plus i might have my St.Croix Big nasty 9' swimbait rod re-wrapped with that color thread . opinions please ( i do not want anything but the best color thread to blend with the blank !! ) thanks !!

aren't you using the threaded barrel for these hoods and they should fit unless i'm missing something

not true at all , just sinks slowly like most all mono and coploymer lines

95mm is perect for me , even on my swimbait reel .

thanks for the response ! i was afraid they might be really stiff , causing blank scratching when trying to attatch lures , think i'll stick to alps open drop shot hangers ..

i think because they are a west coast company that isn't in the big box stores back east . Phenix makes some great rods and that they sell blanks makes it extremely good for custom rod builders !!! i foresee only using their blanks for all my custom rods ( St.Croix blanks for my custom swimbait rod needs) Phenix makes some awesome rods and their customer service is excelllent !!!

tatsu 20 lb. is .37 & breaks at 20.9 lbs. - Gamma copolymer 14 lb. is .36 & breaks at 23 lbs . as you know line sizes are ALL over the place !!!! i imagine Sunline Sniper rates up there in line strength , strongest flouro i've ever used ...

not to sound rude or snobish but i fish only customs , i couldn't deal with a handle that short !!

try crawling a bait very slowly with a 7.1:1 reel , not very easy to keep a pace doing it , been there tried it ! , with a 6.4:1 reel i can burn any bait as fast as i want ...
