  1. LC pointers are good, the LC staysee is a good deeper model that I like when the water is cold. I picked up a megabass vision and a spro mcstick, they look good but I haven't thrown them yet. Going back a ways, there was a jerkbait called the hell cat that we did really good on here in southeast Virginia. They were not the best quality, the bills were famous for breaking and the hooks were poor quality but man did we catch them good at Philpott and Smith Mountain lake with them.
  2. I would like to hear what everyone uses as well. I typically use a Paca chunk as they have worked well for me. I normally use a black and blue combo in stained water and a green/brown variation in clearer water. Although I am far from being an expert I do it enough that the tick of a jig bite is one of my favorite things!!
  3. Sometimes we know better but just can't help ourselves!!
  4. I may as well not fish my tournament on Saturday because my KVD shoes will not be here on time .......dang!!
  5. I have picked up 2 of them but haven't thrown them yet. They do look good and have a different finish not a smooth finish.

  10. check out the Roanoke Times online, www.roanoke.com and look for Mark Taylor's, Wildlife blog he did a series not too long ago about good fishing destinations.
  11. good day what a nice bass!! Congratulations!!
  12. I'm not sure I would call it false advertising but some of the website I have seen don't use the same lighting or camera angle so the colors look different. MonteSS is also correct that they look digfferent in the sunlight especially the colors that have a flake in them. These are fantastic dropshot worms. I like them on a shakey head too.
  13. all year here in Southeast Virginia as well just a lot slower!!
  14. Congratulations, I did this last year on Smith Mountain Lake and had a blast. I was also fortunate to get 3 great draws, Terry "Big-Show" Scroggins, Denny Brauer and Gerald Swindle for Day 4. All of these guys were great and shared a lot of information. Riding with the G-man was unforgettable, he fished hard but kept me laughing all day long.
  15. I am a huge fan of the KVD machine but would have to take the field on this one!!

I should amend that post to say to run on plane in the FOG will lead to bad things!

I agree with Lund Explorer .......... placing your faith in radar to run on plane will lead to bad things!!
  18. I am afraid to pick one up!!
  19. Goose covered it well so I will just add that I have 3 generations of the Curados and they just seem to get better.
  20. I got a few of the Lake Fork flutter spoons last year and they feel fantastic fluttering down but I have yet to get a strike.
  21. love the pictures, keep em coming!!
  22. I can see where radar could be beneficial but I think that stating that this is a tool that will let you run on plane in the fog is misleading and can lead to tragedy and no matter how good the radar is I hope others will not trust it to navigate through fog at high speeds. I was a marshal in the 2010 elite on Smith Mountain Lake in Virginia, the day one pro (I won't mention his name) took us into and through the fog way too fast, visibility was very limited and he was running with his GPS map (not radar) and I was very uncomfortable.
  23. Yes, but only one in a pond that Hook Set and I fish. He caught her last and she was 27.75" long with a 19.5" girth. The pond owners son called her Sam but we have dubbed her "Samantha".
  24. x2 on The new KVD 1.5 and 2.5 square bill crankbaits, he is already prasing them big time on the new shoes.
