U.s. Made Spincast Reels
x 2 on the Daiwa Goldcast, probably in the $50 range but they are the best quality spincast reels I have seen. My partner got on for his son, they all seem to have a lower gear ratio but seem to be good reels. Like most spincast they may come prespooled with line so you may want to change to your favorite brand/# test.

Credit Where Credit Is Due
Agree and agree ..... I have been catching fish on the 1.5 AND the Luck E strike is like the Lucky Craft RC but they are very light weight. I got the largest size and have caught a decent number of fish with them as well.

Black Light
I have also been reading some on the WeenerDog "Bad Eyes Violet" night fishing blacklight,it is only $75 and claims to compare to the nucli-eye. If anyone has ever used any of these please post for us.

Black Light
I have been using a Stan Slaon super double for about 15 years. I originally had a rail mount for my old boat but converted it to suction cups. They have a new model called a lightening bug that uses led lighting and I have been reading about the Nucli-eye led blacklight. Both of these are available with suction cups or the rca jacks. They are more expensive than some of the others. The Stan Slaon lightening bug which offers a blacklight and a light for the bank retails for $159 and the Nucli-eye has a version with both lights for $249 or just a blacklight for $149. Whatever you go with I would reccomend going with led lighting which has a longer buleb life and uses less power and from all I have seen takes up a lot less space as well.

Smith Mountain Lake
wow - I hadn't heard all that. I can understand your feelings. I just wanted to point out the article. I fish n a few small clubs and although the life vest isn't a rule I have just always used them so it is just a no brainer with me. We had a club tournament Saturday night out of Penhook and it took 19 pounds and 10 ounces to win and then dropped back to 15 for 2nd. My son and I fished, we only had 3 keepers for 8.89 but did manage the smallmouth lunker at 3.31. We caught 4 stripers as well.

Sk Elaztech Plastics
durable ain't the word, I can stretch them about 4 or 5 feet and they still don't break.

Flurocarbon Line Frustration
I am another one that did not like the Vanish and it is the only line that I have ever stripped off and trashed after 1 trip. On the other hand the Berkley 100% Flouro has far exceeded my expectations.

Crankbait Hooks
A-Jay - I am right there with you. I have not lost a fish on one of these hooks yet!! I have also been able to go up one size larger than normal with these. E.G. instead of a 6 I use a 4, etc.

Oakley Big Bass Tour On Smith Mountain Lake
http://www.roanoke.com/outdoors/wb/287531 I posted this in Carrington's Smith Mountain Lake post but think it should be posted here instead.

Smith Mountain Lake
Here is a story from today's Roanoke Times about the Oakley Big Bass tournament. Seems the angler with the top fish of the tournament had a tough break but answwered honestly on the polygraph when asked if he violated any game laws. He and his wife had failed to put on their life jacket and kill switch while idiling across a cove with the big motor and their catch was disqualified. http://www.roanoke.com/outdoors/wb/287531

I pretty much always have both rigged up!!

? About The Cumara
I love my 7'2" M XF Cumara, I use it with a 200 E7 Curado throwing 12# line for texas rigs and light jigs. I use the MH for heavier jigs with 15# line.

Which12# Yozuri On A Bc, Ultra Soft Or Hybrid
I have been wondering the same thing. I have been using the ultra soft on several spinning set ups this year including my senko setup and this is an awesome line. I have had fish wrap me up in trees and was able to get them out everytime, maybe some luck involved but the ultra softs casts fantastic and I actually like the color.

I Want To Learn To Drop Shot
You NEED to learn to dropshot, this is a very, very productive technique and you will become addicted!!

Night Time Topwater Lures
I have done well with the Jitterbug, especially in ponds. During the alewife spawn we throw a lot of jerkbaits but typically just use a very slow retreive to make a slight wake to catch Walleye however I end up catching just as many bass. Last year towards the end of a fishing trip I tied on a strike king, king shad just for kicks and ended up catching a walleye and 2 bass and had several to miss the bait so I will be using it again this year. As far as a buzz bait I have done ok right up until dark but for me that bite has died after dark. I may just need to get confidence by throwing it more.

A Big Thank You!
@Hookingem - this is the absolute best site and forum I have come across for Bass fishing. I have read many of your posts and probably replied to some of them as well. I don't have 1000 posts yet but part of the reason is that I often find answers to my questions just by reading along in the forums.

Crank Breaking In Half?
The only one I have had trouble breaking (that didn't involve operator error) has been the Rapala Fat DT-3 and I have had 3 of these baits to break off right behind the bill where it meets the balsa.

Megabass Vision 110
I just got mine from Tackle Warehouse in the Fall and it had a split ring, the almost rectangular split ring.

Can Anyone Id This Crankbait?
looks like a Norman Little N to me, but I am not familiar with that color.
