First Artificial lure
My first lure used was a 1/4oz. rooster tail spinner and caught a nice smallmouth on it......haven't stopped fishing since!!!!!

Pheonix Bass boats?
I've been looking at these boats and they look pretty sweet. Anyone had any experience with these? Just saw that they signed Russ Lane onto their pro staff.

Bruiser Baits
Don't take it for granted. I've been down south for only a year and I miss Salmon and Steelhead season. It was a nice change of pace catching those big fish. Although fishing in the winter is much better down here!!

Problems with Mann's Little George
This is way off topic, but every time I see something about a Little George I think of this story... I was at a Bassmaster U and Woo Daves was talking about them and said the most brilliant lure design ever was the Little George....a slab of lead with a treble hook....made Tom Mann rich!!!

How is Bass fishing out of a multi spec boat?
A guy in one the clubs I was in fished out of a walleye boat and he did well. Like the above post...you may have a little trouble with some applications and boat control, but after a while, you'll adapt and be efficient. A bass boat is a very specific tool, if you do a lot of fishing for other species, you've picked the right boat. I think it's easier to bass fish out of a multi-species boat, than fish for other species out of a bass boat. With your rig, you can troll, set up down riggers, planer boards, and it's a lot easier to put rod holders on for bait fishing too. A bass boat is very limited in terms of presentations for other species.

Whats your scent opinion?
Like a couple of the other posts....I don't think it "attracts" them, but I feel the fish do hold onto the bait longer. I don't use it all the time, but if I do, I use Smelly Jelly. That last line almost sounds like the Dos Equis commercial ;D ;D

It's official...
The new owners also stated that they wanted to get down to the grassroots level. Hopefully that means they will try to better the Federation, not get rid of it. Let's not jump the gun here, give them some time...then we can complain!!!

Anyone know about older Quantum Reels?
I had one of those, I believe it was in the early nineties. No special features and I think the gear ratio was mid five to low 6:1. It was like all the other Quantums I've owned....broke in the first year of use!!!

New Ride
Nice ride. I rode in Blazer for the first time this year...it rode really good in the 2 and 3 ft waves we had that day.

2012 Classic Qualifying
I didn't see that....they must be keeping that on the down-low!!

2012 Classic Qualifying
My intention was not to rehash this stupid debate---noone's opinions on this will change. I just thought it was interesting that they removed this bid for The Classic. Somtimes this forum gets frustrating!!! > > I know--- if I don't like it...don't get on it...whatever. Lighten up people!!! :P

2012 Classic Qualifying
Saw the new qualifying structure for 2012 on BASS website. Didn't see one for the WBT AOY. By the way, I am an advocate for giving the spot to the WBT AOY.

Wiley X polarized sunglasses Question
First, The product isn't bad, it just isn't the model you should've gotten. The Zaks doesn't have that option--only the Climate Control series does. Honestly, the place where you got them should have steered you in the direction of the Climate Control Series once you told them what you want them for. I would have a few choice words for them!! They should be well versed in what product would be the best for your application. I am surprised that the large side shields let in a lot of light though. Not that it helps your situation, but, I got the Brick with the inserts. Couldn't be a more perfect sunglass for fishing.

Wiley X polarized sunglasses Question
I work at for an authorized Wiley X dealer. Let me know what model you have and I could tell you. Not all of the Wileys have an insert.

Picking Up and Moving
My wife and I picked up and moved about a year and half ago. We lived in upstate NY and lost our jobs because the company thought people in India could do a better job!!! We packed up and moved to the Chattanooga area with no jobs waiting. We now have jobs and just moved into our first house. Great area, great weather and best of all great fishing!! It's tough, but persistance and willingness to succeed will get you far.

My goal is to get to the point where the puzzle gets easier to solve.

New Trion

Critique My Gear
Nice rod selection and good set-ups. But I go by the Rick Clunn method and use the same action/length for multiple purposes. It makes it consistant for casting accuracy and feel. I think we get caught up in trying to get the perfect rod for a specific technique. Then we have a rod that we can ONLY use for that application. If you think about it..the same action for spinnerbaits is perfect for c-rigs, rattle baits, topwaters, and light pitching/flipping applications. I have three crankbait rods, all the same action/length and work great for all my different c.bait applications. Works for Rick, works for me! It really does make a difference when you can change rods and the feel is exactly the same. Just my opinion....and Rick Clunn's!!

where to fish jerkbaits
I'm one that fishes them all year. But they do shine during spring and fall when the shad bite is on. When you see them busting they are a great lure to get those stragglers that won't hit a fluke or spook.

How effective are texas rigged senkos?
I've had a lot of success on them. In spring or anytime they're shallow I use them with a 1/16 or 1/8 weight and they get on it! Don't forget to try them behind a long leader Carolina rig too.
-
Handpours?
Don't forget you can use Plaster of Paris or Plastic resin to make molds too. I've been using my POP molds for about two years now, and they still produce good lures. Follow the advice of the last post and join Tackle Underground. They have a lot of professionals on there that are willing to give you their advice. They also have a good section of "recipes" to produce your favorite colors. Caution: HIGHLY ADDICTIVE!!!!!!!! :D

Personal Style
I have a WileyX sticker on my truck...it doesn't make money for me, but helps out the doctor I work for. I also have a Luther Corp (the company owned by Lex Luther sticker)...just because I think it's cool and different. I also also have a Stratos sticker on my truck. It's not the advertising I think of, it's the pride in ownership of my boat that I waited a long time to get as well as a lot of money.
