i fish the new river most of the time, claytor lake a few times but i like fishing the river more than the lake.

i have the prodigy spinning reel its smooth cast good but has a bad clutch system. you think you have it set just right then when you hook a fish it will hang up on you or it will slip to much and you can't set the hook.

those are some nice fish!

seen a man fishing with a spinning reel that way last summer, wore me out watching him cranking it backwards. it looked hard to fish that way.

when we fish at night the red lamp doesn't spook the fish as bad

well said Catt, i'm almost 56 worked in the underground coal mines for almost 30 years i also have had back surgery and get arthritis a lot worse when its cold. but i like fishing so much i try to forget about the pain. i fish almost every day sometimes twice and fish nights too.
