  1. I found Kroil on eBay, but they want like 60 bucks a gallon. I don't need that much. I'll hit a local hardware store and see what they have.
  2. I'm trying to replace a pedestal in my boat but I can't get it out of the base. I put it in a vise and am able to turn it with a pipe wrench, but I just can't get it out. Anyone run into this?
  3. You can also pick up some "practice plugs" in various weights from just about any tackle shop. They're shaped like tall skinny pyramids with a loop on top. You can throw them in the yard or on the water.
  4. Funds are low. I cheaped-out and got the PiranhaMax 160. I think it will be suffiecient. Thanks for all the advice.
  5. NJ Tom. Thanks for the advice. Does the Garmin have a similar head connection as the Humminbird or do you need to connect the wires individually each time?
  6. Thanks JF. I'm looking at the PiranhaMax 160 wich has a dual beam and is around 85 bucks. I can get the PiranhaMax 220 for $110 but I don't know if will do much more for me.
  7. I'm shopping for a fishfinder to use on my local lake. The deepest part of the lake is 13 feet but most of it is only around 7 feet. Can anyone tell me what features will give me the best and widest image in this shallow water? Or a make/model that would work well here.
  8. I'm going to suggest a spring clean up of old fishing equipment at my lake and will be looking for a youth fishing club in NJ, Pa or NY to donate all of it to. Does anyone know of one that I could contact?
  9. Thanks Anne-Marie. It's just a small plastic boat so I'm not going to go all the way with the breakers. I can get 10 fuse holders for $4.25. They should last the life of the boat. I'll see if I can find a 50 amp fuse, but I was hoping 20 or 30 amps would do the trick.
  10. I just picked up a used basstender and the fuse holders are missing. I'm going to pick up some new holders on ebay, but I don't know what size fuse to put on the auxillary switch that powers the trolling motor. Does anyone know?
  11. Heading to Key West this weekend and looking to do some bone-fishing on Saturday. We haven't booked a boat yet, will probably do that Friday afternoon. I've never been out on the flats before so this will be a whole new experience for me. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
  12. I have an old pair of fold-down plastic boat seats that need to be recovered. I detached the vinyl covered plastic backrest and seat cushion and figured I could just wrap new vinyl over the top and staple it down and then reattach them to the seats. I bought 2 yards of vinyl at a fabric store, and broke out the craftsman electric staple gun my wife uses to recover chairs and stuff. The problem is, the staples don't penetrate the plastic. They go in about half way and then sort of bend. Do I need some sort of high powered staple gun or special staples? These are the seats that came with my basstender and are similar to the Action Copolymer boat seats that BPS has.
  13. BPS has these on sale. $4.69 for an 8 pack. Has anyone tried these? How do they compare to the Yamamoto Kreatures?
  14. Thanks Wayne. I was just looking for the cap part, but I guess I could get the whole device and just use the cap for now.
  15. I just picked up a used Basstender 11.3 that needs a little work. The fuse panel is missing 2 of the screw in caps that hold the fuses in place. Does anyone know where these can be purchased or what they are actually called?
  16. I hit the ice over the weekend for the first time in my life. Did pretty well. 2 pickerel, 2 lmb and 2 perch. Maybe try again on Sunday if it's not snowing too much.
