What are you using? I've had a lot of luck fishing suspening xraps in about 6 feet of water.

My lake temp dropped back into the high 40s over the last week or so. This should put the spawn back on a more traditional schedule. I guess it's time to start fishing like it's early April instead of early May like we did a few weeks ago.

Anyone ever use white braid? If so, did you color it with a marker or leave it white? If you colored it, what color and did you find it made any difference?

I just got a Fenwick Elite Tech Smallmouth 6'9" M/F spinning rod and paired it with a Shimano Symetre reel. I used it in a tournament on Saturday throwing XRap suspending jerkbaits and found it to be incredably sensative and smooth. I don't think I will throw XRaps on anything else in the future.

I paid $7 for the Hunger Games book. Gave it to my wife as part of her Mother's Day gift last year. She liked it so much she gave it to her mom and dad to read. They liked it so much they talked me into reading it. I liked it enough to lend it to another family. They all liiked it too. Now my 10 yr old daughter is reading it. That's a lot of entertainment for $7. Save your money and stop going to the movies. It's simple, if people stop paying Hollywood to make crappy movies, they might be forced to make better movies.

I've never cared. Never paid any attention when buying. Now all of a sudden, I don't own a rod with a full grip.

I'm sure you have the right to buy whatever you want. I think Mike is trying to figure out why you are letting your height limit the size rod you are going to buy. A longer rod will cast farther. I have an 11 foot surf rod and I am under 6 feet tall. I didn't worry about my constitutional rights when I made that purchase. I just got the rod that would perform best for me.

Breaking one out this weekend. I hope it is not worthless.

I just got replacement fuse holders for my boat and I can't figure out how to open them up to put the fuses in. They are Seachoice 12611 with the red 'push button' cap. There is writing on the cap that says "Push" but when I push on it nothing happens. Does anyone know the right way to open these?

Water by me is starting to warm up. Caught a handful of bass, pickerel and perch yesterday. Warm temps this week should turn things on this coming weekend.

To make it official, I have not tried either of these BPS lures.

Some new Shimanos have a slotted screw near the handle that, when removed, open a port to oil the reel. Before giving up on that one, why don't you add of few drops of good reel oil in there and spin the handle to coat everything? You might find it smoothes out and quiets down.

Tackle Tour gives a better discription. The DR in the name stands for Deep Runner. They will run at a depth of 20 feet when retrieved and 28 feet when trolled. Like you, I don't understand what the 1-2 feet means.

I'm with 00 Mod on the top water but I'll go with the Tiny Torpedo. In my fantasy world it's always Top Water Time!

It seems the consensus is to go with Shimano and up the ante to get the CI4. I'm a weekend warrior and mostly throw casting gear so I don't want to go that deep on a spinning reel. After reading the review, posted by The Rooster last summer, I decided to go with the Symetre and I spent the extra $50+ on tackle. I'm going to pair it with the new Fenwick Elite Smallmouth 6'9" M/XF rod recommended in a few other posts. I should have them by next weekend so I hope they both perform as well for me as they have for others. Thank you all for your input.

I'm selling a Supreme XT to buy a new rod to go with the reel. I didn't like the Pflueger.
