  1. Oh, and just an hour ago, I lost the biggest smallie of my life at the boat. Went down to lip a humongous fish I caught on the drop shot, and she got off on me. Easily somewhere between 6-7lbs. Absolute beast! The guy I was fishing with was speechless!
  2. Jitterbug, buddy, we are going to break down your waters, talk about plans A, B, and C, and you guys are GOING to those Nationals!
  3. Sounds fun! Glad you all got on some good fish.
  4. Yeah, Strike King pretty much considers them a beaver bait, too, which is why we've (well, you all) have had to wait so long for a Rage Tail beaver bait. Big O had it nailed a couple years ago, but you know. I do know this. That the "Bug", is the the best one out there, bar none.
  5. That list is an absolute joke. Basically, except Erie, no lake above the Mason-Dixon Line should be on it. Certainly nothing in NH! Haha! Yeah, like I'd rather fish Winni over O.H.Ivie, Tx, which isn't even on the list! The real list would hurt too many people's feelings, so it's not an accurate list at all.
  6. Nice fish and jig/trailer choices!
  7. Oh, and for the fluke, my best luck with em, has always been weightless, tx rigged on a 5/0 heavy wire hook. Cast, let sink on semi-slack line, jerk jerk, pause and fall, repeat.
  8. You don't really need a trailer on a buzz bait, but I do run one. I stick a craw on em for good measure.
  9. Forever if not exposed to extremes constantly. The worst thing for them, is moisture.
  10. No, they don't leave, only end up in a different location. I almost went up there today, but the wind sucked. I knew yesterday was gonna be a mob scene with the nice day we had.
  11. Yes, you are right about that. In early spring, I do see a lot of dark greens, browns, and blacks, with the orange on the crawfishies. I have a Rage Craw for that, and it does NOT get beat when that color is predominant in the craws. For cranks, I stick mostly to the gill and perch patterns around here.
  12. Buddy! You are loaded for bear and ready to go!! Nice stuff!
  13. 70lb Daiwa Samurai braid for timber, docks, matted vegetation (no leader) 25lb Vicious Pro Elite flourocarbon for rocks, shell beds, etc

I agree. Spend the money on your rain gear, and it will last you for years, and you won't regret not buying the good stuff when you have to replace a lesser set in a couple years. I have the BPS 100 MPH bibs and jacket, and couldn't be happier with them. I have two friends who also use the Cabela's Guideware, and they are happy with those, as well.
  15. I don't remember my first bass, but I do remember my first big bass. I was fishing with my buddy and his dad when I was just a young buck (probably about 8 or 9), and we were fishing with weightless pearl Slug-Go's. Casted right up into some lily pads, like I saw his dad doing, and it got destroyed as soon as it hit the water. I don't remember how I even hooked it, because I'm sure I didn't set the hook or anything. It was a "monster", and I was completely hooked, not only on bass fishing, but using plastics to catch them. The bass was about 5lbs, looking back now, but it may as well have been a 20 pounder far as I was concerned!
  16. Good call on the craws. I was thinking only fishies, but yeah, craws all day long!!!
  17. Perch, bluegill, and crappie. There are natural shiners(silver), and alewives are scarce, but out there. I feel best imitating the gills and perch in clear water.
  18. One little smallie that day, alee17. The temp really wasn't that cold. Somewhere in the upper 20's.
  19. Yup, I was going to say Pawtucaway. Nice lake. Good fishing.
  20. I'm also in the bigger is better crowd, and usually run a Rage Craw or Lobster on my jigs. I'll bite off one section on the Lobster, unless I'm fishing at night, or real muddy water, then the whole thing gets put on.
  21. Nothin' but piiigs!
  22. RW, you can add this one, too. Soon to be a crowd favorite! I know it's one of mine!!
