  1. Well, it was tough out there today, but we managed a few, just none of the bigguns we were after. This front definitely had them tight lipped, but still a good (although wet and chilly) time! Now I'm heading up to Maine to fish with my brother in law tonight and tomorrow morning. Then tomorrow evening, I may re-visit the lake I was just at to see if they've adjusted their attitudes!
  2. Yeah, nice pre spawn belly on her. Great catchin', fellas.
  3. Yeah, buddy!! And standing on the deck of your new boat, too. That's just all good stuff right there. Keep it up, guys, there's gonna be a lot more of that action in your future!!
  4. Locked and loaded. Fish beware. You have been warned!
  5. Banged a few small largemouths in the river in Nashua. Had a half hour before work, so I fished a tx rigged bug from shore, with no luck until I found a rocky section in the middle of the river. That was fun!
  6. In. And we already know, I got the first month's prize pack, which I am giving to Jitterbug on Saturday. Good luck, and loads of fun to all! Fish on, peeps! Some inspiration (not to mount your fish, but to catch the big ones!)... Ps- anybody catches a peacock in New England, and I'll double the prize pack!! Haha!!
  7. I swim it most of the time on a keel weighted 5/0 hook, but also like turning it sideways and flipping it.
  8. Not bitsy bug. Rage Bug. It's a 4" long beaver-style bait, being introduced at iCast. He filmed that show end of February in Florida. He also got to beat on some largemouths, but not sure if that stuff made the show.
  9. Id expect it to be low. Everywhere has low water at the moment.
  10. Hey, Marc, yes it is, and I'll see you out there Saturday, bud!
  11. I'm going with 9-3. Nice fish!
  12. My favorites are the Space Monkey, Hawg, Bug, and Lobster.
  13. It sure is nice to be catchin' 'em in open water finally. Thought winter was never gonna end!
  14. Did a couple hours today. It was more windy than forcasted, so I didn't wanna stay out too long. I did get on some fish, though, just no big ones. 6 total, 3 on cranks, 3 on a jig/D.B. Craw. None bigger than 2.5lbs, though, but considering this place iced out yesterday, and the warmest water I found was 43 degrees, I'll take it. Got to try out some new equipment, and it felt good to be back on the open water. Hope some of you guys got out and hooked a few, too!
  15. Seibert Brush jig n Lobster. But I don't flip jigs in wood much. Usually flip a Tx-rigged Space Monkey, Lobster, or Bug first. Only time i'll pitch a jig to timber, is if I've already dialed in a bite pitching a jig to rock or weedlines.
  16. My wife has already accepted my addiction to fishing, so she knows what I got. I have no idea of how much of this, how many of those , or exactly what ungodly amount of plastics I have, but I do know this. It does not all fit in 4 tackle bags, 14 shoeboxes, two huge totes, several mid sized boxes, the bottom of my double closet, under the bed, and under the dresser, that's for sure. I know, because I still gotta put some stuff from today away somewhere!
  17. Oh, and Here is that new reel I got today. I moved the Tourny Pro off that rod, and put on my new B.B.1 Pro, spooled up some pretty friggin' sweet Smackdown, and there you have one nasty Flippin' stick, topwater, and Carolina Rig setup.
  18. Me too. And Sunday will be my second. Well, on anything not a river, I should say. I'm pumped!!
  19. It's in his belly! Great pics, guys!
  20. I only use heavy action, and heavy braid on top, so that's basically the only combo I need, however, I do sometimes use my other heavy stick with big flouro for top water, too.
  21. Got me one of those fancy Lew's BB1-Pro's comin'. Had to wait a couple weeks for T.W.to ship it, due to being backordered, but she'll be here tomorrow! I grabbed some of that Seaguar Smackdown braid (50lb) for it, and she's gonna nestle up on a beautiful 7'4" heavy action Cumara, to be used as my topwater and Carolina rig setup.
  22. Even better, is I saw some iced out places today, and tomorrow, the brown truck brings me a new reel! Love those days!
  23. Couldn't ask for much better. I haven't a lot of water time with her yet, but I'm sure I'll be happy with this one in the lineup. As for Raider's question about the TFO rods, I can't help there. Never used one. That's why I said free rod, because he can't lose on that deal, even if he spends a little bit for a good rod to put it on. For all I know, the rod could be as good of a deal as the reel.
  24. Thanks! It's the 7'2" MH Tatula. Feels fantastic, balances beautifully.
