Can't Wait!
With that rod, you will be able to tell what type of grass you are feeling. You will actually be able to feel when you drag from a clay bottom, onto sand or silt bottom. You will know if there's bark on a branch as you pull your bait over it. And if a fish even farts near your bait, you are gonna know about it. I had the chance to fish an 893 for a day, and the sensitivity is jaw-dropping. I want one baaad!!

Give him a call. He'd have you out on his boat. I'm lucky enough, that I get to fish with him several times a year, and I'll tell you what, the guys a machine. If you want to go catch some bigguns, he's the guy you wanna go with, especially on Falcon!

State Vs State - Episode 6
You are right about that, Mainebass. It took me my NH PB a couple years ago to beat him. This year, I plan on doing it again.

State Vs State - Episode 6
You go, Florida! This is where the Northern guys have a shot. The contest runs right through our pre-spawn fish, where the right person, at the right time, can catch the biggest fish we have to offer for the year. Count on one of my Northern brethren to catch a slobette for the board within the next few weeks. It might just be me!!

Fishing Nh
Oh, and your best bet in the future, is to post up stuff in the NH thread, where we all go, just to keep it simple.

Building The World Record Bass
Yeah, but no. Nobody can hang with Texas. In the states, Texas has it!

Catfishing At Sandy River Reservoir?
The last time I fished there, we saw a humongous Channel Cat strolling through the shallows. I tossed a jig to her, but not even a sniff. We did catch some nice bass, though. We mostly fished to the left of the launch, all the way in the back, where the standing timber is. Pitching Craws was killer! I think I like that lake better than Briary.

State Vs State - Episode 6
Let the Florida folks set the bar, then the Northern folk can raise it in a month! At least, that's my plan!

Building The World Record Bass
Ok, yeah, I could see that. It certainly won't be a Northern state, though. State records, oh yeah. World record is coming from the South (probably Mexico).

Building The World Record Bass
Um, Bill... 5-8 pounders spawn baby basses . Not exactly sure what the rest was about, either. If you think a world record bass is coming from Connecticut, you're trippin'.

Tried The Rage Rig
Oh yeah, that shallow stuff is perfect for the Rage Rig. I also like it on outside weedlines, or even suspended fish. You nailed it, too, fish it just like a weightless senko. The slow fall, with claw flapping action, gets 'em all the time!

Topwater, and flippin heavy stuff.

Swim Jig Trailer
You almost never lose a tail off the Shellcracker or Menace. You're right, there's less there on the Craw, so more prone to getting 'em bit off.

Building The World Record Bass
That's true, too. Better than my high school science project!

Building The World Record Bass
This guy may or may not grow a bass that big, but even if he does, and the new world record is set, then whoever catches one on either side of that record, can decide for themselves if their catch is more or less of an accomplishment than the other guy's. I do know one thing. Catching a fish of that size, no matter what records are on the line, has gotta be a crazy big deal! I've had some huge fish on the end of my line (two that rivaled the Tx state record), and it is no easy task fooling, hooking, and landing those fish. Good luck to whoever does it, is all I can say. A 23 pounder ain't no fool!

Nope, they don't.

Swim Jig Trailer
I am a huge swim jig fan, and I use the Menace, Rage Grub, and Craw (or Baby Craw), and sometimes the Shellcracker as trailers, always match the jig as far as colors. And since we're on the subject, I almost never go fishing, without throwing a swim jig at some point, no matter the season, water temp, anything. I've caught hundreds of bass, including my in-state PB on a swim jig. Very versatile!

Anyone Have Any Luck In Southern Nh Yet? (4/6/12)
Yup, that's where I was, alright! Between the two of us, he got 2, both on a jig, I got one okay one on a swimbait, and 1 on the drop shot. Then the bohemouth hit me. Caught me off guard, a little late possibly on the hook set, and there ya have it. A lost monster. Dam, she was beautiful!
