  1. Jitter, your 17's are gone as of Saturday. Nice lookin rig.
  2. Your friend thought it was a bad idea to put a craw trailer on a skirted jig? You need new friends. Put a Rage Craw on EVERYTHING, especially a skirted jig!
  3. Blue Craw is my favorite color, and weighted Tx rig is my favorite way to fish 'em, but they are killer on a Rage Rig, and on a shakey head. I use a 5/0 hook on 'em, as shown to me by the man. I was using a 4/0, but a 5 is better. Moaner Stick'R's to be exact. Probably the most dependable bait in my bag.
  4. Congrats to our May winner, Mainebass (no big surprise there)! Heck of a good job, everybody getting on some great fish. I just got back in from a weekend up in Maine, and wanted to chime in and say great job to Maine and all who joined in. I'm looking forward to lots more action, too!
  5. I'm with you on that, maico! In the mean time, if you're like me and can't be without Falcon Craw, then run a little red dye on one side of a green pumpkin. Same deal.
  6. No, they want you to work it slower. Even in the dead of winter, the higher action baits are preferred. Wakes 'em up!
  7. I like and use all three of the big Rage worms, and feel like they each have a time and a place. I have used the Anaconda a lot on a Rage Rig and weightless in the shallow grass and pads. It's also great on a weighted Tx rig. Oh, and yes, I use chartreuse on the tail all the time. My favorite, and one that I've caught some of my biggest fish on, is the Recon. Never found a worm that catches more big fish than this one. I do love the Thumper when fishing muddy water, or at night. Probably the best worm on the market for that stuff. For swimming, I like the Cut'R, and am waiting for the big 10" version to come out.
  8. Way better action on the claws of the Bug, as compared to the Pit Boss, body gives off more vibration, 4" bait, softer, better colors, and Made in the U.S.A.
  9. Mmmm Hmmmm. One of my favorite all time baits.
  10. I know of the place the OP is speaking of, and it's a quality fishery, for sure, and one to watch, however, it's not trophy ready. If I had the chance, and there was only a couple hundred dollars difference, there would be no question, I'm going to Baccarac. The lake he's talking about is going to turn out some monster bass, but probably not for a few years. It does, however, have a huge population of 5-7lb bass, and much bigger being reported, but not a lot of 'em. Baccarac could already potentially hold a world record bass, and certainly holds a ton of huge fish, including many teeners.
  11. K, so I got out yesterday morning for a few hours, and managed to catch 13 bass, and about 45 thousand pickerel. All my bass, except a couple tiny skaters, were what I call slot fish. All between 16"-18", so nothing impressive. Most of the fish I caught, were back out in the staging areas, even though the spawn has most definitely been on. Saw lots of beds, but no fish on them. Baits that were good to me yesterday, were a Black/Blue Rage Grub on a drop shot while the clouds were in early. Watermelon Red Cut'R Worm on a drop shot after the sun came out. jig/Rage Craw in Green Pumpkin, and my biggest came on one of Big O's swimbaits. Getting my plan together for the day, but I'm hoping to be on the water in a couple hours.
  12. Lew's Super Duty or BB1 Pro. Two incredible reels under $200, made for exactly what you wanna use it for.
  13. That's awesome, Mike! More to come, I promise!
  14. Gotta be able to fish to catch em, buddy. I'll get in some time this weekend.
  15. Bluegill swim jig w/ Watermelon Red Rage Craw, little chartreuse on the tips of the claws.
  16. Never tried that, but it sounds pretty good. I bet the bedding fish DO hate that! That thing catches a lot of fish.
  17. Heatin' up. Some nice fish up there! I really needed today's follower to take that swim jig!
  18. Got 9 today in 3 hours. Fishing was better before it cleared up. I found most of my fish in 4' or less. Other than my jig rod (which was in my hand), this is my arsenal for today. Most of my fish today, came on that drop shot with the Cut 'R Worm. That's a deadly little rig, ya'll should give that a try. I cut about an inch off it to use on the drop shot.
  19. Ooops. Sorry. From a couple days ago. Forgot to put her up, cuz I figured I'd have 3 bigger ones by now anyway! Whatever. Throw on 18" more, and tomorrow hopefully I'll catch a couple more good ones to round it out.
  20. I'm only going to have a few hours tomorrow to get out for all weekend. Stupid busy weekends when I'm trying to go FISH!!!
  21. I imagine, it's much like tying your line to a small Volkswagen. And then hanging on until he runs outta gas. Nice job, guys!
