  1. This was the first time really fishing it. I can say this. I only had big big hits on it.
  2. Haha, too cool. Not me, man! I can't even open my eyes under water! So hey, what's up with Highland?
  3. Pegged 3/4oz tungsten weight to a Rage Recon Worm in Green Pumpkin/Purple Gold.
  4. What?! I'd never dive in for a combo, not even a $600 combo. Of course, I'm not that great a swimmer, either. I'd be ticked, but I sure ain't goin' in!
  5. My two biggest fish of the day never made it into the boat, either. One was a complete sea beast that cleared the water hitting my Spro Popper. She didn't really get it, though. Big fish, we'll just leave it at that. The other one, was a hit on an 8" swimbait, and it was like a punch to the gut. Only had her hooked up for a few seconds, but while she was, she showed me who was boss. Too bad I never saw that fish, cuz she made me work my 7'7"Heavy Cumara overtime!
  6. Few more to round out the limit. 17.25 19.25 18.5
  7. Here's that 20". Just under 5lbs.
  8. Just got in from fishing this morning. Slayed the fish from 5:30- 8:00, biggest just a click under 5lbs. Battery's on the charger, and heading back out this evening. Also fishing early tomorrow morning, like 4:00am. Topwater and jigs was the name of the game this morning. Biggest was on the jig.
  9. You should be okay doing that. We used to do just that as kids, and still see people doing it today.
  10. Jay, I'll fish Highland with you anytime. One of my favorite lakes, too.
  11. James, I have come to find, that with that style of presentation (jigs and Tx rigs), keeping a perfectly semi-tight line is really the key. You need to maintain feel of your bait at every single moment. Line choice, rod and all that stuff does come into play with sensitivity, etc, but you can make the best of what you have, by keeping your line tight, paying attention to rod position, and keeping yourself in the prime HARD hook setting position (shoulders square to where you're fishing, feet in a stable position ready to step back if needed, and able to set the hook over the shoulder of the hand you are reeling with). I use some very expensive gear, but I promise you, my biggest fish have been caught using my friend's rods, which honestly, are just not as sensitive as mine.
  12. Caught a few yesterday at Rollins before I couldn't set the hook anymore because of a d**n pulled muscle or something in my right elbow. 75.5 degree water, bright sun, pretty windy. Anyway, here's the only photo-worthy one, a 19.5" that may or may not count (funny thing, it went 3-5, just like Maine's 19") . Didn't realize the scale didn't show up in the pic. Jitterbug, either way, I don't care. Anyway, caught on a 1/2oz Seibert Outdoors Big O Brush Jig, with a Rage Smokin' Rooster for a trailer in a laydown in 4' water. Actually caught 3 off the same tree in one sitting.
  13. Hey, just wanted to pop in and say hi to the new guys we got here. Great to have you, fellas. I'll be around to help out anybody that cares to hear the ramblings of a jig/soft plastics freak. Anyway, nice to have some new faces, and hope to see all of ya in the monthly contest. See ya'll on the water!!
  14. I won't go fishing without Green Pumpkin, but I could not fathom life, without Blue Craw.
  15. Ask in our Southern NH thread. We have guys that not only live in Milford, but lots of guys that fish the area regularly.
  16. I'm in. Happy Fourth, too by the way, everybody! Now lets catch some fish!
  17. Yeah, they do. My favorite color is Blue Craw. Stick that on a Rage Rig, and it's gonna happen.
  18. Yeah, great job, Nev. You earned that one! PM me your info, too.
  19. That's the attitude, Bob. I caught my NH PB out of a place that everyone swears the biggest fish in the place is 3lbs. Yeah right, except the 9 pounder I caught there!
  20. Had a great time with Jitter yesterday, checking out a lake new to me. We were on fish immediately, doubling up with nice, healthy, chunky smallies on our very first casts of the day. The action didn't stay that hot all day, but we did have them figured out, boating many fiesty smallies all day. We managed (for the most part), to stay outta where we were only catching little guys, and went for the bigger bites. We didn't get into any hawgs yesterday, but sure had fun trying! Thanks again, pal, let's do it again! Obviously, our friend Jitter's fishing skills are better than his photography skills, but here's one from the day. (just kidding, buddy! Those sun shots can get ya!)
  21. I've yet to get out this year for some true night fishing, but it's coming soon. I love me some topwater in the dead of night, no moon, and calm conditions. Nothing like those heart attack-inducing blow ups! My favorite has been the Black Neon Rage Shad for a few years, and it never disappoints for mind blowing explosions in the nastiest of weeds. Good times!
  22. Nice job, everybody. My biggest woulda only been 63.77, so no where near the size I needed. Congrats to the winners! Watch, now I'll break the state record! Haha. Next year, ya'll!
