  1. Well, look at it this way. NH was probably the last state in the country to get one, so there's one wherever you are now, and two, you ARE out of NH, so what are you complaining about?
  2. Yeah, Buddy! It was nice meeting you. Can't wait to hit the water!
  3. Now that's a nice store! Beautifully stocked with a great selection of everything. Staff is pretty awesome, too. I was lucky enough to run into many of my friends there tonight, including quite a few from here. It was nice to see everyone, and nice talking to you guys! Boy, am I glad Spring's right around the corner! See you all on the water!
  4. Yup, that's a healthy fishery, nhbassin. Some real nice fish in there. Oh, and mainebass, when we fish in Tx, we are not after 10lbers. 15-20lbs is more the target fish. If I caught an 18 down there, I'd be just as happy as if I caught a 10 here. I'm still looking to land my first teen fish down there, even though I have hooked into 2 that were well up there in the high teens, didn't land either of those fish. I also had a real 10 on my line here in NH (actually think it was over the record, but it's all speculation).
  5. Right on! My son is excited to see the fish tank.
  6. Of course, in the mean time... There's always Texas!!!
  7. Well, yeah, but the options open up greatly having a boat that can handle bigger water, and accommodate more gear. Plus bringing other people, obviously. I really miss having both, and won't be without one for another season.
  8. I don't know if I'll catch a New England 10 this year, my friend, but for the last 4 years, that is the one fish I'm fishing for. Actually, I'm after the state record of 10 1/2lbs, but either way, it is why I cast each line each time I go. I have several places where I believe a bass that size COULD live in N.H., and my brother in law seems to think he can get me amongst some 10+ fish in Maine. We shall see!
  9. Haha. Yeah, it was. Same location, same bait. The big girls were eating perch up in the shallows, so I fed 'em a bluegill swim jig with Watermelon Red Baby Craw, claws dipped in chartreuse. I sorta sight fished the bigger one. Saw her before she saw me, and got my jig to right by her head, and when she saw it, she killed it! Still one of the most insane bass fights I've ever had to date. Thought I broke that 10lb mark up here. Crazy day.
  10. I'm ready! I won't bring anybody else with me at night in the jon boat, though. Gotta wait till I get my new bass boat for that, which won't be long now at all.

There's a nice one for the road! It's been waaay too long since I've caught one like that, and I'm gettin' antsy! Stay on top of 'em, Big O!! Safe travels to the Classic, too, I know how you drive!
  12. Man, that sucks. Sorry for your family's loss, A-Jay.
  13. On my old phone. Funny thing is, the fish in my avitar was an 8-4 I caught the same day as that 9-1.
  14. If you need another fix, just let me know.
  15. Yeah, big difference, right? It's worth it to wait on something a bit better, because at those price points, there are night and day differences in each step up.
  16. ok, yeah, I might have one or two...
  17. If at all possible, try to go for something a step up or so from the ugly stick, like Jitter was saying. Go with the best gear you have access to, and for a couple more bucks, you'll be a lot happier than with that ugly stick, especially for bottom contact baits, like jigs.
  18. Night fishing. Awesome. One of my favorite things to do. My approach to night fishing, is to be as well prepared as possible, and to roll as simply as I can get away with. Life jacket is a must!! Usually only two rods, at least one with braid. Headlamp with white and red light LED's, spare battery for said light, clippers I can hang around my neck, and pliers on my belt for convenience, and to keep clutter down. For presentations, I personally love topwater stuff (Rage Shad!!!), and big ole jigs/Lobters. I have also caught more than a few hawgs dragging Tx rigged big worms, like the Anaconda and Recon. I admittedly stick to bodies of water I am completely familiar with, and always run my gps, so as not to get lost, which I have done. Night fishing really pulls you into nature. It's very relaxing and serene, and you focus much harder on your baits, and what they are doing, so it's a good exercise in feel, too. Like Mainebass said, I really like going right around a full moon. PS- Full moon, dead calm water. Slowly churning a Black Neon Rage Shad across the top of a vast lily pad field, has got to be one of the funnest things to do, period!! I have been handed some serious heart attacks doing that! Absolute madness!
  19. Nice smallies from the Q, Will!

Sounds like you won, not lost!
  21. Either, Mike. I mostly just use the Craws and Lobsters.
  22. This will be my 4th consecutive trip to the Classic, and yeah, it's fun and all, but no where near as fun as the fishing we get to do for a week after! Derrick, see you there, pal.
  23. Oh, heavens to Betsy, yes! I like it rigged both ways, but if you want a slower fall, rig it horizontal.
  24. Yup. Probably be there right around 6. I leave the next morning for the Classic, and need to grab some misc stuff for some Texas fishing after.
  25. Haha. I'll see ya there.
