  1. Nice work. I dig your style.
  2. Falcon is one amazing fishery, especially that time of year. If your pitching/flipping game is up to par, you are in for a treat. Friend of mine says it IS fishing tough right now, though. I'll be there in a week. It's like returning to the Motherland.
  3. Aw, yeah! Using anything familiar to catch your fish on lately? You've been having 'em dialed in!
  4. I have to go with Rage Tail Lobster, as well. It's pure bulk and action, and it works for many ways I like to fish, all while getting the attention of the biggest bass in the lake. Falcon is probably my favorite all around color, but Gr Pumpkin/Purple Gold is awful tough to beat, too.
  5. Off shore ledges, channels, and humps. Usually at the same depth as the baitfish.
  6. 7' Med Fast would be a good all around choice. The moderate that most serious crankbaiters will recommend, is also probably based on the fact that they also have a Fast available for more hook setting power in even moderate weed cover. If I were picking just one, I'd want it to be good in a wider range of situations, like what you are going to be fishing. If you're cranking real deep, like 16-20', then one of your MH rods will work just fine. I say 7', because you are going to want that extra length for casting distance, especially when fishing cranks, where covering water, and getting to your depth are crucial. Also, use flouro. It sinks, does well in weeds (when ripping the lure free), and the stretch (and finely adjusted drag) will help you accommodate for the faster tip by allowing some extra give to keep the fish hooked up.
  7. Yup, not only do we get the water all to ourselves (well, with the exception of a bird hunter here and there), but the bass are kinda predictable, and they are FAT! Some of the best fish will come out of fishing this late in the season. You may catch less, but you will almost definitely catch a fatty if you know where they are sitting. Slow fishing is the ticket, and don't fall into that bull crap load of downsizing, and using less action plastics. Go big, go slow, and you will hook up with a fat, hungry, lethargic winter bass.
  8. Also, try rigging it on a 2-3/0 keel-weighted hook, and throw it in shallow grass. It's deadly on a Rage Rig! I do use them a lot on swim jigs, too.
  9. For the temps the Northeast is under these days, that's a great day of fishing. I had similar conditions, and similar results today. Fall fishing does keep it interesting. Nice work out there!
  10. Got into some fish this morning. I beat the wind out, but it wasn't far behind me. Cold out there (water just over 50), and the fish are acting like it's December. Secondary drop offs, I found some fish slow rolling a Rage Shellcracker on a keel-weighted hook, then slowed down with a jig/DB Craw for cleanup. Had a 4 1/2, and a 5 1/2 on the Rage Rig, and found this honey on the jig. 8-7 was the verdict, 23.5".
  11. That first one is a tank! Nice job, buddy!
  12. To fish or not to fish? That is NEVER the question. Always fish! You'll get less bites, but if you find those bigger fish, you can slow it down and catch a hawg right now.
  13. Machine! Great fish, Big O!
  14. Only had a couple hours yesterday before I got sick of the wind and dinks. Only one over a pound, was this guy at 17.5". Jig was all I could get em on.
  15. Liam, that's so cool , man. Keep up the good work.
  16. Must be the lucky pair of STX's! J/K, but you have been lighting 'em up lately.
  17. That's a great day! I've heard talk of that place, and word on the street, is it's tough, so your day was pretty good, sounds like. Nice work.
  18. Big O does not guide professionally, beyond putting his friends on fish, but nobody can out fish him on Falcon. Period. Pros ask HIM what to do on Falcon.
  19. Off shore structure fishing is the biggest one I can think of.
  20. I don't use leaders for anything, except C-rigging.
  21. "Heavy duty scents"? That in no way influences a fish to bite your lure. If you do happen to get bit, then all that stuff does, is buy you one extra second of hook setting time before the fish spits it.
  22. Congrats, man! That's a beast!
