  1. Right on. Good stuff. Thanks for the help, guys.
  2. Absolutely, man. I've been approached two out of two times fishing on Briary. Thanks for the input. Right now, the other guys going seem to be leaning toward Sandy, so we'll see.
  3. Yeah, Aluma-Bass, that was the other option. We might do Sandy instead of Briary, still not sure. Which do you like more?
  4. I am fishing Briary Creek for my third annual trip down to Va. I was wondering how you guys that fish it are doing, and what the bass are up to. Anybody been there recently? I will be there May 7th, so any info is appreciated. Thanks!
  5. 4" Rage Tail Grub in pearl white. Deadly. I also like a 7" Thumper cut in half, in any of the green colors.
  6. Yes, that is exactly what happened for me, and now I am very proficient and confident with all jigs.
  7. Your best bet would be to contact Mike at DVT (sponsor here), and have a custom built. You will never feel the need to upgrade, and will be happy with your new frog rod forever. Customs are the way to go.
  8. A club isn't a bad idea as a non-boater. You'll learn a lot, and have a good time while making some new freinds. Also, like you said, just getting out with different guys will get you some good learning experience. We happen to have a pretty cool bunch of guys that are good fishermen in our area and on this board. At one time or another, I've personally fished with most of the guys in the New Hampshire section, and have met some great people that I enjoy fishing with very much. I would suggest just fishing as much as you can, and grab a partner whenever possible. Check out our ongoing thread about Southern NH. Lots of good stuff in there, and all the guys are more than happy to help out, myself included.
  9. That's what I'm talkin' about!
  10. Good stuff, Dwight! I definitely consider you the master at this.
  11. Tx rig with a pegged tungsten weight will catch em anywhere Good deal you got there.
  12. I dont know about that. I didnt stay long, and didnt really get my head into it much. Theres probably some good fish in there still.
  13. That's what I fish for. Changed up my style, to locate, and catch the biggest fish in the lake. Been going pretty good so far.
  14. Nice job, Jay! I'm lovin' jigs right now, too. All of my bigger fish lately have been coming on a jig.
  15. Just get good insurance on your boat, gear, and everything else in the boat. If somebody really wants to steal your boat, they're gonna get it.
  16. Nice job, bwillis and company! Nhbassin, whats the water temp at turtle and rollins? Glad you all got on a few!
  17. Are you kidding? That place is a big, slimy, salad bowl. Not going back. I did catch a big bass, but not there. Here's the 8-4 I caught after I left.
  18. Yup, windy for sure. Got out for a couple hours today, and found that the water is still cold, but this warm up is working. Caught 7 altogether, with a couple descent ones mixed in. One of the 3 1/2's that I caught, had one at least 7 follow it all the way to the boat, and it hung around the whole time, until his buddy was in my hand, then she slowly swam away. If the smaller one would have shaken my jig, I'd have caught a pig today. Swim jig with a Baby Craw on it was doing the trick, but I had to go up to a 3/8oz jig.
  19. I use 30lb Samurai Braid on a 2500 Stradic as a main line, and a 12lb Tatsu leader for my Carolina rig rod. I don't know if it's common practice to use spinning gear (7' MH fast Falcon Lowrider XGS) for C-rigs, but I prefer it.
  20. So, I take it the launch is that paved driveway at the South end of the pond off of Riverside St ?
  21. Are you trying to kill that fish?
  22. That's awesome, man! Congrats!
