Boynton, delray, boca ? Where To Fish Without Issues?
Snook are up and down the beaches now, bridges in the ICW and inlets, Jupiter is fairly hot now. Snook fishing is about the right water conditions with the right tide, they can be extremely picky and lethargic to strike.

Quick Balancing Question.
That's quite true....... But changing the lure type will affect the overall balance, if perfection is the goal only 1 lure should be used, zero it to that one. Not that I buy into that.

Critique My Resume
I would suggest giving it up, at least for the present. How many H.S. kids watch tv and think they can be a professional fisherman? It isn't that easy ! In today's world A's & B's don't cut it, only A's do and college is extremely important, that should be the focus for the near term. Not saying that many technical non college related careers should be overlooked, some are quite good. Not critiquing your resume, only the intent, establish your life first. Quite honestly I am not a fan of H.S. or college fishing, I am big fan of getting a quality education before anything.

Fish Care For A Shore Tournament
A tournament like this should be conducted like a PGA tournament. Catch a fish, blow a whistle and an official comes over and weighs it, the fish has a better chance of survival IMO. Or weigh it, take a picture with time stamp with gps indicator, and go on the honor system. Under the present form I don't think I would participate with this format, it's inconvenient and more harm than good will come to the fish.

Spinning Reel Suggestion
I do spinning and nothing else. I own Shimano ( stradics and spheros'), Quantum (cabos), Pflueger ( supremes, medalist, arbor) Daiwa (tierra) Penns, and Abu (sorons, 20-40-60). There is no best reel, it's all subjective. All of the above reels are smooth, more than adequate drag performance, each has it's merits as well as shortcomings. Some have needed service or repair others have never been touched, down the line each reel works wonderfully. If I were to pick a favorite, be my 2 soron 40's, DVT cleaned and lubed one of them and it's phenominal, that said I have no qualms in using any one of them regardless of the size of my target species. NIB just about every reel is good, the true measure is hard fishing over an extended period of time, catching large fish as well as the reel weathering the elements. If your reel stands up to that...........stick with it.

Braided Line Around Docks
Docks, jetties always have barnacles or some kind of sharp edges where I fish, I get cut off all the time regardless of the line I'm using, probably why I respool so often. I mainly use 15 and 20# braid, 14# mono for 1 kind of set up, get cut off with that too.

Quick Balancing Question.
Just staying within the Shimano line up just about every 4000 reel has a different weight to it, the balance will be different with each on the same rod. Also every different type of lure will have a different weight too, affecting the balance. In one of my more anal moments I weighed each and every spoon, not every 1/2 oz. were exactly 1/2 ounce. same goes for other sizes as well. I'm not one to need a perfect balance, as long as it feels ok, I'm fine with it.

Surface Lures For Windy Days
My go to top water is a Mirrorlure Papa Dog, I catch the most fish with it probably because I use it the most. I can pop it and walk it, casts great and IMO comes with the best hooks I have used.

Headed To Boca Raton End Of October. Fishing Options?
I hit a Boca beach this morning this is what we are getting and the mullet run hasn't started, had this jack been a few pounds bigger I may not have landed it. I left the location data on the pic, it's called Jap Rock You have nice bass at home, do something different, get a guide in the keys for tarpon.

Spinning Reel Suggestion
It really doesn't make a whole of difference, just about any reel over $50 is going to perform well. Suggestions usually boil down to personal favorites, mine for freshwater are Pflueger supremes. My supremes are about 3 years old, light, smooth, never been serviced or needed repair, my 35 has caught a number of fish 10-20#. Presidents get very good reviews, never had one but I wouldn't be a afraid to buy one. If I had plans of using the reel for double duty, meaning some sw fishing too, I'd step it up a bit. Which ever way you go, I'd take my rod with me and see what reel feels best on it.

Headed To Boca Raton End Of October. Fishing Options?
October means the mullet run, it's difficult to express in words what that means. We get a variety of fish coming into the area, both in the ocean and the ICW (intra coastal waterway), my personal passion is the beach. Lady fish are very abundant, great fighters that can strip out a ton of line. Bluefish have a strong pair of shoulders, jaws like steel and can bite lures in half. Jack Crevelles, the ultimate warrior, the small ones are fun, once you get to 20# I put my money on the fish or just to tired to catch more than 1 or 2. I have had to run after them for 1/4 mile or more to avoid being spooled, nothing outfights a jack. There is always snook and tarpon. It's common place to have a fish on line, lose it and get 3 or 4 more strikes before you have reeled in. All you really want to use are bucktails, spoons and gotchas, topwaters are fun but they won't last too long. Spanish mackerel show up then too, the rougher the weather the better for these species, if the wind is down and water is calm, that's barracuda time, 40-50" fish are common.

Best Nfl Quarterback
For the most part a QB is going to be a good as his supporting cast. Being from Michigan and a U of M alum.........it's Brady and it's hard for me not to like Matthew Stafford. P. Manning is the closest thing to a "field general", one of the very few that could call his game. I see Manning and I see Johnny U. without the high tops, that said I think his best years are behind him.

Bad Hook Sets
Nothing wrong in taking that fish home for dinner, it's yours. I c/r myself but in the event a fish is out of season or not legal of size I'm throwing it back, don't want to risk a ticket. I don't feel it's waste for fish to die in the water due to an unfortunate gut hook, something out there is going to eat it, pretty much how things work in nature.

Braid For T Rigs?
Have to go along with these reasons.

Quantum Reels
I own but one Quantum, a Cabo 30, performance wise it measures up to any other $180 reel I have. That said nothing seems to be perfect, this reel is the size of a 2000 with a limited line capacity and it's on the heavy side, but has an incredibly strong drag for a reel in this class. I opted to use 14# mono which gave me only about 80 yds or so of line for specific species, perfect line management, but I go spooled. I purchased a larger sized Plueger with more line capacity, 2 oz lighter and an excellent drag. On paper seemed like the right choice, as silky smooth as this reel is the line management is not acceptable. Probably going back to the Quantum, for rugged fish I want a rugged reel.

Buying A Frog Rod Any Suggestions?
I had given some thought about buying a new rod, looking around a bit I decided just to use one of my inshore rods, for me was a good decision. I'm using either a med 8/17 or mh 10/20 spinning in 7' length, with a rear butt on the short side.

Destroyed My Go To Spinner But Sure Was Fun
Nice catch......I'll take a bigger fish over a smaller fish anytime, don't care how much tackle I lose.

Lure Suggestions For Panfish.
The closest I get to bluegill fishing is fishing for mayan cichlids which will hit on the same baits. I use beetle spins, in line spinners and have a lot of success with crappie jigs.

Braid For T Rigs?
Hard to argue with a "southern boy" when it comes to bass fishing. I use 15# braid on spinning always with a leader about 15# or so, which probably has the breaking strength a bit over 20#. If I do have a weak spot it would be the knot, which seldom is an issue. For me cutting thru Florida slop with 15# braid has been no problem, since I don't use b/c gear digging in is no concern either.
-
Knots And Casting
I don't like any knot going thru my guides, I use short leaders and swivels. When I do join line it's a least 75 yds so the knot doesn't come into play.

Braid For T Rigs?
Not that I'm against having many outfits, have about 25 myself, but could easily whittle it down. I have both freshwater and inshore gear, I could use both in either venue and sometimes I do. I'm a spinning and braid guy, never use anything more than 20#, my leaders are short about 20-30", and I've given up F/C. This works well for me, I'm not suggesting others follow suit, my conditions may be different than yours.
