  1. Don't kid yourself. New Nitro's are right in line with the other boat manufacturers. They are advertised less because they are rigged bare bones. You can easily rig a Z9 to $55k
  2. No negotiations. They will offer incentives like a gift card and/or I think a 15% discount on BPS merchandise for a year. The only way I see at saving money when buying a boat is to build your boat online and note the prices. BPS charges full MSRP for the add ons. There's a good chance you can find those items cheaper online. For example, the 1198 Birds are about $1000 less than MSRP. I just ordered a new Minn Kota trolling motor for $500 below MSRP, and got my Talon last year for $300 below MSRP. That's a $2800 savings. If you can install those items yourself, you're way ahead of the game.
  3. Did it make you want to push your fingers into your eyes?
  4. Someone who illegally harvests fish and keep everything he catches. I'll leave it at that. You can search previous threads to get a better idea.
  5. Don't look so happy I hope all is well.
  6. The only way to rid the world of senseless violence is to rid the world of senseless people.
  7. Yes, I know, hate is a strong word. Don't get me wrong. There's not enough money in the world to get me to give up the game. I get thru every day on the water with a smile on my face no matter what the circumstances. It doesn't discount the fact that people need to change. My biggest irks are the lack of respect some have towards others in the the sport. (There's a recent article on *** about this) and the lack of respect towards the fisheries. It's not only the fishermen. There is so much trash in my home water from the pleasure boaters. The agency that manages my home water runs a volunteer cleanup every spring for one weekend after the thaw and before they raise the water to summer pool. Winner of bragging rights goes to the boat that collected the most trash. Shouldn't have to be this way. You'd think, since we have to pay user fees to operate a boat on the system, people would have some respect. Oh, and my ramp fees go to the Fox Lake American Legion Post. I'm not complaining about them. (except of course getting out of the parking lot on Bingo Sunday is next to impossible ) It's the ramp fees on the other fisheries
  8. I read day in and day out about how much everybody here loves fishing. Blah blah blah. Surely there are things you don't like OR would like to change about spending a day or week or lifetime on the water. Pleasure boats, jet skis, and bucketheads don't count because we all hate them. My gripes. 1. All the boatable water in northern IL and southern WI is privately managed. This means I have to pay to launch the boat. Anywhere from $15-$25 a launch. I've fished many impoundments in the south and all the ramps are in pristine condition and FREE 2. Fishermen not respecting other fishermen. If I'm fishing a spot. When you come up on me, please go around the side I'm not casting to. 3. Clean up your frickin garbage. Don't throw your line in the water. It is magnetized to my prop. You shore guys...bring a garbage bag with you and pick up the garbage and worm containers that is left by the bucketheads. God gave us this resource and man will screw it up. 4. New guys on local forums, don't publicly hound guys on the boards for their honeyholes. I promise you, you'd get better feedback if you asked in a PM What don't you guys like, or would want to change?

When I think of American muscle, I think it should look tough, aggressive, and just plain badass, not sleek and stylish.

I think you're on to something, but I think from the doors back it looks more Japanese. Maybe Nissan 3?? or what a modern day Supra would look like.

  17. Wayne, In the pic of the bluegill beds, about 1/2-2/3 way down the SI image is a little distorted. Is that from turning the TM?
  18. Only 95% of the time all you see is emptiness. LOL I don't take many screenshots, I'm not running a unit on the bow yet. I can get mesmerized when I'm searching for fish, trying to figure out what I'm looking at. Did you pull the trigger yet?
  19. Hey

John Gotti was imprisoned in Marion, IL....just sayin'
  23. The locals that are shorebound seem to be more of the buckethead type. The guys who have boats are exactly what you described. Eyes, perch, and trout/salmon. It's such a vast fishery, it really doesn't get crowded either. Biggest problem with fishing DC is the weather. I know the DNR has been doing a lot of management with the musky population, numbers are down, but they've been getting some real trophies
  24. That swept handle looks sweet. All my reels already have the original Hawgtech handle. Guess I need to buy some more reels
