  2. Epic failure or loss of interest? From reading your journal, I could certainly see that boredom played a big part of the "failure". I know stitching was essentially using a big worm at an extraordinarily slow pace in deeper water. Have you thought about modifying the presentation to more suit your style of fishing? Maybe a different location or different bait?
  3. Jika rig proved deadly for me this year.
  4. I said something similar today to my step daughter. They were arguing about whatnot and I told her "You only have one mother. She can make another one of you whenever she wants"

If you're going to fish from the shore downtown like Navy Pier, guys throw flukes, tiny flukes, soft plastic swimbaits, and cranks, for them and I'd be willing to bet Gulp minnows would work. If your headed offshore in the spring down by Pastrick, or up by Waukegan, shrimp, or flies on a crappie rig.
  6. It's what connects us to the short bus.
  7. or "Go ask your mother"
  8. "Then it's been nice knowing you"
  9. I tend to agree with this. My senses of sight and sound are more focused while I'm fishing. I listen to the radio when I'm fun fishing, I don't during tourneys.
  10. Jeff, On the river system I fish, I come across a lot of trees that are tied to docks to attract crappie. Same trees are there year after year although they seem to be less "full" BTW, I'm still waiting for the gps coordinates of last years Christmas tree drop.
  11. I think we have a love connection
  12. It's to keep dirt and debris out. Replace it
  13. 1988 Chris Craft ski boat with a 70 Johnson. I bought the boat from a customer of mine who was getting a divorce and they were liquidating their assets. Even though it wasn't a fishing boat it got me on the water. I sold the boat 8 years later for more than I paid for it.
  14. The local DNR has done this to some of the strip mine and powerplant lakes that are void of any natural structure and cover. They dropped "pvc brush" in the lakes. One cooling lake in particular has had the bass population rebound with the addition of these as well as supplemental stockings.
  15. I need to find a lake where I can find peace and quiet. Not to many around here
  16. I'm with you A-Jay. Never got into Duck Dynasty. Porter Ridge on the other hand....I can't stop watching it
  17. Lowrance has an app where you can control the gen 2 and touch units from your phone. http://www.lowrance.com/en-US/Products/Wireless/
  18. dsaavedra, Take him up on it. Redlinerobert has great taste in booze. He sent me a bottle of the best tasting wine I've ever had during last years Christmas exchange.
  19. I forgot I have 6 or 7 HawgTechs along with a ton of Northstar jigs.
  20. Gonna take a wild guess and say you weren't one of the 2 mega million winners
  21. What did you buy or try as the direct result of asking/reading about it on BR? I'll start. I never fished with low profile reels before becoming a member of BR. Abu C3 5500 was my reel of choice. RW tried to talk me into the Shimano line, but I knew better I stuck with Abu. I now use the Revo STX and Toro for most of my fishing. I learned about the Jika rig here and it was one of my most productive techniques this year. I learned about hard swimbaits here, but have yet to catch a fish on one What did BR make you try or make you buy? Did it work? Any regrets?
