2002 Nitro 640 Lx
I'd ask to take it to a mechanic and verify that the only issues are the ones he stated.

Skeeter Vs Ranger
If you don't already have a mechanic, picking the right dealer is equally as important as the brand of boat.

How Old Is Too Old
No old rods but I do have some 20+ year old Abu 5500's I still use regularly. I also have some 30 year old Shakespeare and 40 year old Mitchell spinning reels I use for walleye fishing.

Turn This Into Bass Boat? Please Help?
The front "deck" is going to be slippery if it gets water or blood and slime on it.

Turn This Into Bass Boat? Please Help?
I don't know about a conventional bass boat, but you could install a Terrova or Powerdrive V2 Ipilot electric steer trolling motor on the bow. The Ipilot has a handheld remote control you'd be able to use anywhere in the boat. Deploying it and retrieving it might be a bich, but I don't see anyway you could put a cable steer on there. Another option would be to build a mount on the transom to accept a transom mount trolling motor.

Spring Break Fishing Trip Suggestions?
Been doing the spring break thing with my son and dad for 10 years or so. We have fished many of the top rated bass lakes around the south east always during the last week of March or first week of April. The best fishing by far has been on Kentucky Lake with a close second on Guntersville.

Cut a hole in the ice. Put 2 spikes on the tip of the jig. Set your tip up. Relax in the shanty with some cold pizza and 3 fingers of Jack.

Aquatic Verses Terrestrial Prey
Just watched an episode of Fish N Canada and they caught a big smallie with a duckling in its mouth. I may just have to invest in some bird imitators.

Rod&reel Dunked In Water
Don't break the reel down if you don't what your doing. 2 seconds probably didn't hurt anything unless it landed in loose sand or mud.

The Wait Is Over!
If you've never seen one, you will be awe stricken. My first gig as a service fitter was at Corn Products on the south side of Chicago. The company I worked for had a contract to maintain and repair all the cooling equipment on the grounds. All the equipment I worked on was to cool the electrical rooms. No comfort cooling whatsoever. They had a coal fired power plant to produce their own electricity and sold the extra back to Com Ed. Boilers that were 3 stories high and huge generators. As a greenhorn it was intimidating. As a journeyman, I wish I was still working there.

Agreed, but maybe I'm just cheap. I have years worth of TW shirts and hoodies I got free with purchases over $100(I think). I wear them all the time. They started charging this year. I chose not to get one
