I've had a military rated (whatever that is) Motorola flip phone that is waterproof and impact proof to a certain degree. for the last 5 years or so and would rather have it for the kind of work I do

Going to be shopping for a new provider. Got a letter from US Cellular stating certain assets have been sold to Sprint. US cellular will service my account until the deal is completed. My contract is null and void and will not transfer to sprint and neither will the phone. I'm waiting to see what special offers Sprint is going to give us but I'm not holding my breath. In the distant past, I have had AT&T and believed I switched to Verizon because AT&T didn't have a family plan back then. This is going back around 10 years ago and the only thing worse than Verizon's cell service was their customer service. Been with US Cellular and couldn't be happier...until now. Does anybody have Sprint now? We had nothing but issues with our work Nextels for years because of the towers being switched from the military towers. I'm weary to go with Sprint. Also weary with Verizon although I believe their service has improved, how's the customer service? I can get deals on Verizon's plans as well. Either thru my sisters business plan, or a 25% discount thru my work. Any recommendations? Anybody still offer a durable flip phone? Or am I stuck getting a smartphone. The flip phones I looked at online are cheap.

You're not getting robbed. Think of it as donating to the pension fund. LOL Just keep everything current in WI and you shouldn't have any issues in IL and keep whatever paperwork with you on the boat If you carry a WI drivers license they are not going to question you since you are just visiting

Why don't you just have everything registered in WI? You can still store it at your dads as long as everything is current. Trailer it back to WI once every 60 days to keep it legal. (the law says no registration is needed if boat is registered in another state and is being used less than 60 consecutive days in IL)

I had a plate fall off my trailer a few years back 2 months before it was up for renewal. To get a replacement plate I had to pay the renewal fee then pay the full fee for a new plate AND pay for another sticker. It cost me almost $200

From what I hear, trying to title a boat or trailer in the state of IL isn't worth the aggravation. I know in WI none of that is required under a certain size. If I were you, I'd buy the boat in IL with a title and skip the headache. If the boat is under 16' registration is $22 and good for I think 3 years. You're going to get screwed on the plates the first time. No way around it.

2 titles. One for the boat and one for the trailer. If the boat will not have a motor and will be used only on private water it does not need to be registered. Registration application from the DNR if it has never been registered in IL. You will need to keep a copy of the application in the boat until they send you the registration sticker and then you will need to buy vinyl registration numbers for the hull. If it was previously registered in IL I believe there is a transfer application. Insurance is not mandatory unless the boat is financed, but it's a good idea. It should be relatively cheap. My old 17ft with a 90hp was $250 for the year which included liability, theft, full replacement, medical payments, etc. To insure your gear is additional depending on the dollar value you put on it. The boat and trailer SHOULD be covered under the auto policy while they are in tow but you need to check with your agent. In IL you need trailer plates and can apply for them at the DMV or any currency exchange. You will need to call and see what paperwork you need for the application.

What ever you end up using, make sure the cover is clean. Waterproofing spray is not cheap and if the cover isn't clean, it's money wasted.

First off, most of the time the stores are selling combos, the rods are low end and heavy. My advice is to step up to a reel in the $100 range, like a Revo S or a Shimano Citica and match it up to a Veritas like others have suggested or my preference a Fenwick HMG in MH/F. That will give you a good quality combo for all around use

Offer whatever you think is fair. You can always offer more. Like 200racing said, they hold their value. You could get 5 years of use out of it and turn around and sell it for the same price you paid. If the trailer is in good shape, it's worth $300-$400 by itself in my area.

I actually use it as a vaporizing chest rub when I am under the weather. The only problem I've experienced is the darn cats won't leave me alone
