  1. http://www.tpwd.state.tx.us/fishboat/fish/recreational/wheretofish/ Use this link to help you with your search. I was sent to Witchita Falls for a few weeks and found Buffalo Creek to be a real good place to bank fish at.
  2. Yeah Peter creek has some scenery, there is a castle there. Marvinville got it. Chase those are some nice fish, I dont think I will make to the lake this weekend, I have to put a new floor in the house, but hope fully next weekend.
  3. Ok Finally made it to Greers, launched at the Dam site. Fished Peter Creek most of the day with a couple of hits but no takers. I fished acrossed from the Dam site marina and caught one smallie. The weather wasnt exactly as good as it was suppose to be. I was really impressed with how clear the water, really looking forward to fishing this lake more especially since I realized I am only 45 min away
  4. http://www.goingoutside.com/lake/100/1007083_Lake_Thunderbird_Arkansas.html http://www.lake-maps.us/arkansas/lake-thunderbird-stuart-quad.shtml Here is some info I found on Google, thats how I find out about some of the lakes here in Arkansas. Hopefully this helps.
  5. http://www.arkansasstateparks.com/lakechicot/ Here is the website that has some contact info, you could probably contact them and get the info you need
  6. I have a 14ft Jon with a 30lb Min Kota, and in high it gets me place to place quickly and I shouldnt have to worry about any wind that may come up. I would recommend a 30lb just for that reason, especially if it is your primary means of propulsion.
  7. I have a 575 and love it, I am considering getting another one so I have one on the front and back
  8. I have a 14 ft jon boat and am considering doing the exact same thing, I was thinking a 5hp would be fine for what I am want it for. I only have a trolling motor on it right now. I guess what it comes down to is how fast do you want to get to where you are going. Another thing to consider is higher the HP the more it will weigh.
  9. They are worth every penny, think about it, how much is your life worth. I own one and wear it all the time, I dont even notice it.
  10. I have owned both, and I think my jon is better. My pond prowler was really only good for one person. When the wind kicked up I didnt venture far. With my jon, I have more room, and I can bring a friend.
  11. With at 36lb thrust you are using 12V, so if you wanted to tie 2 batts together, you would do it in series (Red wire on pos term of one batt, black on neg term of other batt, then connect the pos to the neg of whats left unconnected). If you go pos to pos, it would be wired in parrell and you would be using essentially a 24V batt. which would be very bad for a 12V system. (Oops my electrical knowledge has gone dislexic on me, I got it turned around ) Personally I would just carry another batt, you will actually get more life out 2 seperate batts then 2 tie together.
  12. Does anyone know of any good smallmouth waters near Beebe, Ar other than Greers Ferry? Is the Little Red River any good for smallies? Any info is appreciated.
  13. My motor had similar prob, I changed the fuel pump diaphrams, and it runs great.
  14. My boat is 14 ft and so far have only fished alone in it
  15. Here are some pics you can see the plugs I use on both boats and the set up for the screen, its held on with velcro. I bought my jon about 3 weeks ago for 200, I had a TM and batts, so I bought a set of jumper cables for the TM batt, which sits in the back for weight distro, I put another batt in the middle of the boat for the fish finder. I spent less than 20 to get the boat ready for me.
  16. I use my Humminbird 565 that i have mounted on my "big" boat, that is mounted to my TM and put it on the TM of my jon. I use plugs for the power cords on each, and move the mount back and forth. I dont see the need to pay big bucks for a cheap unit when it cost me $10 to be able to transfer it between boats
  17. I thought the norm for a TM was a 30 amp fuse alone. I saw you tested the lights, did you by chance have the TM connected and running at the same time.
  18. Thanks for the info, I didnt make it up there this weekend, I decided to take the jon boat I got to the lake on base. I will probably head up there in the next couple of weeks
  19. I am going to go to Greers Ferry for the first time. I will probably launch out of Cove Creek. Any tips or advice fishing this lake?
  20. You can get a submersible light kit at walmart for about 30 bucks.
  21. Bring back Fish Fishburne...... Remember when he had his own fishing show.
  22. I agree the battery box is the way to go
  23. I recommend a Humminbird 565, great finder, cost $200 or less
