  1. My wife said my gut takes away from the fish's gut!
  2. Just moved to NC 6 months ago.
  3. She was caught at Falls Lake (Raleigh, NC), throwing a spinnerbait into flooded timer. I using a Daiwa TDS on a 7' St Croix rod. It was the only bite I had. A Lily-Pod is the "Fisherman's Tripod". It is designed to fit into your pedestal base so that you can take a pic of your catch when fishing alone. Check it out here www.lilypod.webs.com
  4. Eight pounds even, now I have to work on a 10! I'm glad I had my camera and Lily-Pod with me!
  5. Good tips! I don't think it's your hookset, I set the hook as if it's a hawg evertime. Here's a few fishing landing tips.... Again, set the hook as if it's the last fish you'll ever catch! Avoid multiple hooksets (personal experience). Always keep constant pressure on the line. Do not be too agressive, let your drag work for you. Aim your rod tip in the opposite direction of the fish's head. Rod tip down when the fish tries to break the water. Remember constant pressure when landing the fish.
  6. I was thinking that but wasn't sure if the digital gauge used the same sending unit. Glad it's an easy fix for you.
  7. Gotta love it.... two at a time
  8. Nice looking fish!
  9. ;D... That's second best!
  10. Sounds like a couple great days!
  11. I love jerkbait fishing.... Nice fish!
  12. When I had a jon boat, I put a foot controlled trolling motor on it by taking a 2x6 pressure treated board and cutting each end with opposite 45 degree angles. Then mounted it from the left rail to the front. When the trolling motor was dropped it was in the center of the boat.
  13. I was able to get out for a couple hours today. Here's a couple to show.
  14. That's cool! I can't wait to see the finished product.
  15. The number one thing I hate about ALL fishing shows, is that....... I'M NOT FISHING WHEN THEY ARE!
  16. Most importantly on a river system is the depth through all tides. If your river only flucuates a foot or two, it will be easier to predict spawning areas than if your river flucuates 6 or 8 feet. Look for the same areas mentioned, but with the water at all tides.
  17. On water that small, I would expect the temp to rise quickly. Which should cause the bass to move up accoringly. I would Throw jerkbaits, slow spinnerbaits and jigs.
  18. I'll bet that Yammie makes her scream! Great looking boat!
  19. That just amazes me to this day!..... Wish I could justify getting one.
  20. At the very least have a compression test done, check the lower unit oil and the bearings on the trailer. Those boats are built strong, so I wouldn't worry too much about the hull unless you feel a soft spot. Just remember, no matter what size boat you buy today, you will out grow it tomorrow..... ;D
