  1. Haha! That's 100% right Tin. Last summer, during the AFS at Champlain, I stayed at the same hotel as the winner. He spent upwards of an hour every evening in his boat getting prepared for the next day. It seemed to work out just fine for him. Everyone prepares differently and there are different circumstances at every tourney....and that is my point. As for me, my 21i has a built in alarm system so I don't sweat it either way! ;D
  2. Frankly, during a three or four day tournament in which you travel back and forth to your hotel completely exhausted then have to re-organize tackle etc., it isn't easy at all. Every little bit of rest is critical to stay sharp. You should try it some time...I bet you'd change your tune.
  3. Probably the same 4 I carry x2
  4. Bingo! That's why a lot of pros stay at campsites.
  5. I stand corrected. I heard that on sports talk radio and didn't research it further. my mistake! That doesn't change the fact that the Steelers will win big!
  6. Do you have a transducer mounted to your trolling motor? My Humminbird is flush mounted so I would have to rip apart my front deck to get the wiring apart. Also, they even stole the batteries out of the boats. Would you carry them into your room also? My boat has four batteries that weigh 75 pounds a peice and must be strapped into place. Not my idea of fun to carry all of that stuff to my boat a 4:00 am and then get to the ramp and try to fish. >
  7. The Packers don't have a single guy on the team that has been to the Superbowl. I think the Steelers have a few. Steelers win big!
  8. I completly agree with Tin. His contribution to this site can't be measured. R.I.P. Jack
  9. My home away from home. Upgraded from a 2003 Skeeter SX180 with a 115 four-stroke to this 2007 21i with a 250 VMAX last spring. Got to say I miss the fuel mileage of the four stroke, and also the need not to run two stoke oil($$$$). Those days when it's flat as glass and I'm cruising at 73+mph make up for it though!
  10. I'd love to only have a three days of practice and stumble upon 30+ pounds. Some day we'll get this all straightened out....
  11. Also don't forget about the way each lure sounds, the way it yo-yos, and the way it pulls through and out of grass(which is most important imo).
  12. My number one weedless "crankbait" is a 1/4 oz. swim jig in green pumpkin with a matching grub. If they want something a little more aggressive or if the water is really stained I'll go with a Rage Tail chunk trailer. White is also a great alternative at different times of the year. I chuck and wind all kinds of jigs but you need no more than a Gander Mt. swim jig. Give it a try and hope you whack 'em!
  13. I hear the fall spinnerbait bite is insane in the fall at Champlain. Do they stay shallow until mid-October?
  14. Don't forget to peg the weight.
  15. Agreed. Hope the new owners of BASS keep it around.
  16. If they don't want anything fished horizontally (spinnerbait, swimbait, crankbait, etc.), I'd try a weedless drop shot, green pumpkin finess jig with a green pumkin chigger craw trailer, or a weedless tube. If all else fails, try a T-rigged green pumkin senko with a 1/8 oz. weight to get it down in the grass.
  17. Check this out...most of the BASS and FLW guys compete in the PAA. No excuses anymore. http://fishpaa.com/tournaments/lake-cherokee/results/
  18. It depends on the body of water and time of year.
  19. I also had golf elbow (inner elbow) and made a doctor visit. He referred me to this site: http://www.ubsportsmed.buffalo.edu/education/medialepic2.html I also wore a brace for quite some time and it helps a ton! Now it's completely gone and I'm back to painless fishing for two years now.
  20. It really depends what they are feeding on, how clear the water is, water temperature, etc. I've caught them at 3 feet and I've caught them at 50 feet. There are so many variables it can blow your mind.
  21. Thanks Glenn but I was looking for a specific mount. One of Kota's friends PM'ed me Kota's email address and I asked him myself. He was very gracious and responded quickly. Yet again another reason why BR is awesome! Oh, and here's the link to the seat mount I was looking for. http://www.basspro.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/Product_10151_-1_10001_16131____SearchResults
  22. Wow...a blast from the past! ;D Deep water in my neck of the woods is 30-50 feet of water. I tend to drop shot most often, but sometimes I'll go with a heavy football jig or a grub.
  23. Does anyone know where I can buy a pedestal seat like the one Kota uses. It's not really a seat, but more of a comfortable place to lean against if it's rough out there. Any help would be appeciated! Thanks
