Anyone Watch "The Office"
Haha! Good stuff guys! I actually work in Scranton...home of Dunder-Mifflin. The actors are here doing appearances all the time and a year or two ago they had a "Office Convention"...kind of like a Trekkie thing only Office themed. It was freakin' huge. It used to be a great show, but I think it's losing some steam.

glueing ripped swimbaits
Hey guys, I've been experimenting with Hollow Bellies and Money Minnows recently and I've found that they get all tore up after a few fish. Can I just use regular super glue to mend them back together or will it hurt their action? I realize there are special glues on the market but just wondering if they are really worth it. Thanks!

I cannot believe it UPDATE
I ordered from them last winter and it was a $200+ tackle order. I got an email confirmation on the order then a couple of days later they emailed me saying some of the stuff was on back order. Some came on time..then a little more came some time later...then some more came in a couple weeks...you get the point. Four deliveries later I had all my stuff...glad it was winter and not mid season for me...I'll stick with TW from now on!

early spring clear water
Hey man, how deep have you been fishing and what is the water temp? Also, what have you been using? I fish gin clear water 95% of the time also, and I may not be able to help, but perhaps I can point you in the right direction.

Spring techniques
All of these choices are great if the fish are shallow...but if they are in 20 ft or deeper, it's hard to beat blades (silver buddies, XPS Laser Blades, etc.) jigged vertically when the water temp is 45 or below. Drop shots also produce in these conditions.

Transducer help please?
I put a Humminbird GPS unit on my bow of my Skeeter last year and I like it so much I want to put one on my console to replace the junk Bottom Line unit that came with the boat. The transducer for the Bottom Line is mounted in the inside of my hull in silicone and it seems to work fine. I am wondering if anyone knows if I can just use any Humminbird transducer to pass through the bottom of my boat? I know they have a thru hull transducer but I refuse to drill any kind of hole in the fiberglass. Can I just silicone the thru hull transducer to the inside of the hull? Thanks Guys!

FLW--will it become stronger than BASS?
Isn't there a rumor that ESPN is shopping BASS around to see if anyone is interested? It will only take a few key defections (KVD, Ike, Skeet, etc.)and better TV production for the power to shift heavily to the FLW. After all is said and done, it is about the MEN doing the fishing. That is why the BASS Weekend Series and BFLs aren't televised. No star power! Who would watch that? OK,OK,OK....I probably would but I have the sickness!

10 ft jon boat conversion
No, I haven't checked it out...but I drive by often. I used to wade the river in Falls all the time before I got a bass boat. Now I fish upstate NY mostly. I have heard there are some good ones in that swamp though.

The swamp you are fishing is in Coxton I presume?

Drop shot help needed
Another consideration is your MH rod. I find while drop shotting that a rod that is too stiff will lead to less hook ups. You may want to go with a more limber rod and see if your hook up ratio increases. Just a thought.

Fast Tournament Boats...
Getting to a spot first is great...but these guys have boats that are versatile. They have to be able to fish all over the country from southern reservoirs to the great lakes. Also, things such as storage, reliable livewells and maneuverability are huge factors just to name a few. Getting to a spot first doesn't mean your going to catch more or better fish anyway. Just ask Steve Kennedy...he fished out of the little aluminum for years and cleaned everyones clock. It was the same one that he used at this years Classic.

Suspended Smallies
This is how Kota won at Erie last year with fish in a similar situation (http://sports.espn.go.com/outdoors/tournaments/elite/news/story?id=3517801). I

1000 islands
Yes, the 20th is the first day in NY water. In Jefferson County(Clayton Area) you can't fish for bass before then...purposefully. It is a great largemouth fishery also. Look for weed beds adjacent to deep water. Weedy bays also produce that time of the year also. 2 1/2 to 3 pound largies are average and a 5 is a really good fish on that water.

1000 islands
That time of the year on the river smallies will be in all different phases. Some fish will still be on beds near the main channel due to the colder water temps. Others will be post spawn moving from out from the beds, and others will have been spawned out for some time. Where you'll find the majority of the fish depends on how quickly or slowly the spring heats up water this year. Usually the fish are rather shallow in June compared to other times in the year when the best fishing is 20 to 50 ft. deep. Best bet would be to find chunk rock/gravel mixed with shell beds and weeds in 5 to 15 ft. of water and throw spinnerbaits, jerkbaits, lipless cranks and senkos. If you choose to launch in Clayton, the public launch doesn't have much parking. The French Creek Marina is a better choice but it costs $10 I believe. The river is FULL of unmarked shoals. If you don't have a GPS unit on your dash, make sure you FULLY study your maps and know where you are at all times as it can get ugly quick. Hope this helps! Oops, I forgot to add that the NY side of the river opens for bass a week before the Canadian. You need a Canadian license to fish their waters. Check the boundaries and regs before you decide to venture too far.

some Classic "pros" are busch league.
Things are getting a little carried away here IMO. What's next, we shouldn't be putting fish in a live well or weigh in bag because we may cause them mental trauma? It is our responsibility to handle the fish with the most RESPECT and CARE possible, and that's all we can do. After fishing some FLW events last year, I know that they make you dip your weigh in bag and fish in water with some kind of medicine that's supposed to help out with the slime coat. Keep in mind it wasn't too long ago that all of the fish caught in tournaments were not returned to the water. They were hung a stick for all to see. I too would like to see the study linking slime removal and fish deaths. I bet more fish die in the tournament circuits from air bladder problems than anything else.

Horrible Classic coverage
ESPN Classic is running old CLassics all day long today....why can't they just have live updates every hour like they used to??? They already have this "unpopular" sport on all day anyhow!
