When not to use Flourocarbon?
Like others have said frogs, but most importantly do not use Fluorocarbon if you do not want to re-tie often! You need to constantly retie, Note after catching a fish definately because bass teeth can really shred Fluoro.

I cannot believe it UPDATE
Do people still buy bass fishing stuff from BPS? With Tackle Warehouse there is little need for anyone else.

Lookin for a BC reel for around 150.00 need ideas.
He stated that he wanted a faster gear ratio.

Lookin for a BC reel for around 150.00 need ideas.
You can get a Curado 200e with a 7.0.1 ratio on ebay for around 150. For a rod get a Falcon Lowrider XG for 140. The 7ft H or 6'10'' H will be good for jigs/worms/frogs/spinnerbaits.

Couple interesting catches yesterday.....
I am just joking with you. What I find funny is I know some hunters in Northern California and they rarely wear camo anytime, but on the east coast everyone wears camo everywhere,! It is like a badge of honor.

What does everyone think about the Carrot stixs?
Playing with in the store and fishing them are two different things man. I suggest you barrow someones and test it on the water. I think you will be a bit more suprised.. The only rod you will see in his hands is a dobyns. Dobyns are much better than carrot sticks. Zillions are much better than carrot sticks. Crucials are much better than carrot sticks. Daiwa light and toughs are better rods for less money than a carrot stick. I have seen 30 dollar rods with same guides as a carrot stick. But I don't think that matters that much. I have used a carrot stick as an all purpose rod with 80lb braid for month without any guide problems.

How open minded are you ???
I do anything that will catch me the largest bass possible. Even if it would involve a cane pole. This guy isn't thinking outside the box. He doesn't even have to cast the big baits if he doesn't want to. He can deadstick swimbaits and troll them! Also he could stitch big 10-15 inch worms on light 6-8 lb test flourocarbon line with a 7ft medium spinning rod. You need to tell this guy there are options where he doesn't need to sight fish or even cast much. All the techniques I listed require very, very little casting.

Bassmaster really dropped the ball on this one...
Some funny responses on here! ;D "Uncle" Homer is an old coot. A lot of his respones are either outdated or just crazy. I hope he doesnt get a pay check for those answers!

Falcon Cara T7 disappointment
Lots of rods are mis-rated, I have been let down before just like you have been. But you should buy a Castaway rod, they make a great stick and are heavier than they are rated. If you want a flipping stick meant for Florida get the 7'6 XH castaway.

Heavy Extra-Fast Team All-Star
It will cast fine, put a large heavy wire(gamakatsu superline or Monsterhook) EWG hook and you will be able to cast good distances.

UK talks with Calipari intensifying
Hmmmm... has a strong program at Memphis, has great recruiting power, in conference USA where his team is almost guaranteed a trip to the big dance every year if he keeps up his great recruiting. Sooo what would I pick :

I complained about this last year......
He probably does not care about the anti-fishing and anti- hunters, he is only thinking about himself(which is not truly a bad thing) and being able to support himself and his family. Although he is not hanging a dead deer out on the fence, do you think he doesn't consider that fuel to the anti-hunting/fishing fire just pest control? I think he has them hanging from the fence posts because he already has posts up and can just hang them up without any extra work of putting in something else to hang them from. Also you hanging dead carp is not the same thing, are you protecting your job hanging those fish up? I assume the farmer is with the coyotes.

Fenwick ELITE TECH rods
For 200 bucks there are better choices for a little more money i.e. Zillion or dobyns rods. But for 40% off I don't that can be beat!
