  1. Try downsizing your tackle, smaller worms, weights, jigs. Try a splitshot rig.

HA I Stayed at 5th but if would've kept prestigeing i would be in 7th or 8th. I don't feel like be called a hacking tenth because their are so many of them. Plus i didn't feel like losing all my camos and my AK.
  3. Don't use a lot of anything else but the Berkly power worm (motor oil)
  4. Also a favorite for me this season. Gold sexy shad is awesome. I like to use a sweeping technique.
  5. Disgusting. To cheat, and to kill a fish in the process...just wrong.
  6. Thanks for the help Dave!
  7. Now that's what i said, the lateral line is clearly visible and i also said the smallie has brown vertical bars. I've caught smallmouth before i know what they look like. I just need to show this thread to my stepdad. He kept saying that I've never caught "north channel" smallmouth. Now just to be sure, what part of the mouth do i have to make sure passes the eye? I just wanna make sure he knows i know my bass. Ya know?
  8. THANK GOD. I was pretty sure i was right. Thanks fro the help fellas ;D
  9. Title says it. My step dad says it is a smallie because it's mouth doesn't go behind it;s eye, but it has the black stripe along its body. It doesn't Look like any of the other smallmouth I've caught. I always thought they were a darker brown.
  10. The only thing i do at school is play lacrosse, i don't do any other sports or clubs. Fishing is the only other thing. Do you guys have any suggestions for a senior picture that incorporates fishing?
  11. Tonight i realized my dog likes to fish, just as much as I do. As I'm getting my rods and tackle box out, he goes nuts! He jumps around and barks and runs around lol! When I cast the lure he watches it as it goes back and as it flies through the air. When I set the hook and am reeling in a bass, sometimes hear him whine, and get excited. And when i land a fish, he just wants to get close and look at it. I swear i could have bacon in my hand and he wouldn't care, as long as he can watch me fish. He was a fisherman in his past life for sure. Any of you guys got dogs you take fishing?
  12. Any pics of the lure, I'd like to see that. I would send it with a picture to BASS Masters, they have that "Whats it Worth" thing in the back.
  13. Hey, uh, my 18th birthday isn't till February 14th next year. Have your mom put that in her calendar. Tell her i like Shimano Core 50mgs with a St. Croix extreme rod...7'M.
  14. Thanks for the feedback fellas. Ive been lookin at the curado for a while and i was deciding to get a if i should a high speed reel. Curently my Daiwa procaster(BC) is 6.3:1 and my Daiwa regal(spinning) is 5.1:1. Now that i think about i think my spinning skills are pretty good now to where i can control the distance pretty well. I really want a curado and i felt like i needed a high speed reel, but money aint on my side atm. Haha, gotta get a job...
  15. To elaborate on what Raul said, You want a worm that will move a lot of water, a larger worm, with some kind of vibrating/curly tail. Or something like a creature bait, with a lot of floppy appendages. In murkier water, a bass's sense will emphasize be more on feel(vibrations)/smell since its eyesight is hampered. I would try an Strike Rage Tail Anaconda in junebug or watermelon
  16. T9, you couldn't be more spot on. The area i was having them hit at was an area where i could only catch a few fish and usually dinks, with the exception of a 2.5lb LM and it was like one fish a day then all the action would cease..
  17. http://www.***.com/Team_Daiwa_Advantage-A_Casting_Reels/descpage-TDACA.html So somthing like this? it has a free floating aluminum spool. and for a rod would a 7' M work?
  18. How light of a lure can i cast with a casting reel. like 1/16oz?
  19. I have 6.3:1 and i feel like its good enough. I was looking into buying another rod for spinnerbaits/lipless cranks, and possibly doing some jigging. Is i high speed reel needed for this application? What are pros and cons?
  20. This is how i learned: Texas rigging. 1. Cast out (if from shore you should start casting parallel). 2. Start with the rod at 9 o'clock position. 3. Lift the rod up to about an 11 o'clock position 4. While the bait is falling, get ready to set the hook. I tend to get a bite on the fall more often. 5. Wait a few seconds, beacuse they can also bite off the bottom. 6. Repeat steps 2-5 back to the boat/shore. 7. Do it all over again. I would also suggest a splitshot rig. i just learned and its amazing. Texas rig a worm (without the weight) and place a splitshot above the worm about 18inches up. I like to just cast it out and let it sink all the way to the bottom and then just start reeling, really slowly.
  21. OHHH YES OHH YESH OMG YESSSSSSS
  22. Does everybody cast one handed? I'm scared i will let go of the rod, and I get more distance/accuracy. This is only with BCs though. with spinning gear i can cast one handed, but still, i usually cast two handed. Is anyone else like me?
  23. I have a diawa regal and a procaster. And if i can find a way to paint my rods blue, im doing it. and im also looking for a purple rod if anyone knows of one ;D.
  24. i was using worms with a curly tail, various colors and sizes.
