  1. I have a Cardif 100, and a St. Croix Avid round reels. I like them both, but got hooked on the Revos

There are a bunch of articles in the Fishing Articles section about texas rigs. You can put just about anytype of plastic, but senko type baits are killer. Lizards, beavers, craws, long curly tails all work good too.
  3. Thanks guys, I think I'll spool it with 8lb. hybrid, and the spare with braid.
  4. My son si ready to step up from spincasters to a spinning rod. I have the rod and reel, but I was wondering if I should put 8lb. hybrid, or go with a lighter lb. test braid. We fish for Walleye in Lake Erie quite a bit, but also hit the local lakes around my house. Just wondering.
  5. Hey, I appreciate it it says 10-M2
  6. Try Poor Boys, I use them alot nad work great. I think they are soft enough.
  7. I have a original phenix TR-1 Boron rod. It is labeled as a crankbait rod. It seems to be a MH XF or F rod and is rated for 8-17lb. test line. I was wondering if this would make sense if this rod can handle spinnerbaits, and lipless cranks. I tried out the rod with spinnerbait on it , and it seemed to work fine. Just wanted your guys opinion.
  8. early morning - white daytime - white overcast - black night- black not sure - black
  9. Finally the ice has melted. I live in a S.W. suburb of Cleveland, and we have had a couple nice days but it is still 45-50 degrees out. I was curious as to what others may throw out there when the water is cold. My first choice is to use lipless crankbaits, but after that I am pretty much clueless. Any help would be awesome.
  10. I primarily use: White Chartreuse Rootbeer/Chartreuse Black/Gold Sunfish
  11. I, like alot of people can't afford a boat. So last year I bought a kayak to fish out of and love it. Just looking to see if there are any groups of kayak anglers in the Clevleand area, or if anyone would want to start one up?
  12. Front drag spinning reels last longer! The bait monkey told me so.
  13. What do you guys do for a living? I'm not knocking anyone, but I read these forums and see people list thousands of dollars worth of gear. I do pretty well for myself and love fishing just as much as the next guy, and have a decent amount of gear. but couldn't afford a tenth of what you guys have. I must be in the wrong career or something.
  14. The Gander Mtn. had a Quantum PT Baitcasting combo for $99. As far as a spinning combo for walleye, I'd check out the Pfleuger President combo. Those run about $80, and you'd have $20 left over to spool them.
  15. Um, I don't think they make a cool looking fanny pack. I saw on BPS they make a fly/kayak vest that looks good. Or backpacks work good.
  16. I jsut mentioned the cardiff 'cause I already have one. I did put my Revo S on it with 10lb. Trilene flouro, and it worked like a champ. Thanks for the help.
  17. I was thinking of putting a Shimano Cardiff 100A on it with 8lb. test. Do you think that would work?
  18. I bought 7' ML Graphite USA rod at a garage sale last fall for $20. It was brand new with the tags and wrapping still on it, and looked/felt like a decent rod. My question is what do I use it for? Can it be a finesse type rod where I can throw shakey heads on? I have a ML spinning rod, but I know that most baitcasting gear can't handle the light stuff.
  19. When I was read to learn how to use a baitcaster, I bought a Shimano Callisto. I hated it, but was determined to learn. I picked up a Lew's round reel on ebay for $30 and loved it. When I was more efficient at throwing a baitcaster I then moved upto the more expensive low pros. I personally think that the round reels are more user friendly and are more forgiving with the birdnests. And you can pick up a decent round reel for less $$$
  20. my mistake, it is the bite me jig tha tI use.
  21. I held one at BPS and will be buying it in a couple weeks.
  22. The goby is crack for smallies! I use the big boy jigs for tubes on lake erie. It makes the head look like a goby. goby = crack for smallies
  23. Those are what I'm looking for, thanks. I have the doozie it is pretty good.
  24. I fish tubes alot. Moslty with Poor boys, zoom, and strike king. Whem fishing them i have wondered if anyone makes these with longer tails on them. I think that a 3.5" tube with a longer tail on it would make a killer action.
