  1. 7'6" MF Falcon Lowrider is my normal shakey head, but if the bite is lite I use my 6'6MXF Compre.
  2. Buy it! Buy it now! Great rod for dirt cheap = good deal.
  3. Try the ***, they last longer than senkos. I also like Net Bait salt licks too. Ditto on the Zoom trick worm.
  4. Shimano Compre 6'6MXF $99
  5. I like to use jigs for tubes, but if you are going for weedless I rip the tube evenly and put a 3/0 hook in the spot where I ripped. I haven't used the Lake fork craw tubes, but I have good luck with the *** tubes.
  6. I have been wanting to try the Mann's elite wakers for a while. I had one in my hand but put it back. What colors do you guys recommend for day/night fishing?
  7. Seguar invizx, Yozuri hybrid, and for braid try power pro. As for reels I like the Revos, but that's me.

I like Strike King coffee tubes, Poor boys, and Scheuberts. Gitzits are great for tough times, I use a jig spinner on them when I am getting no bites.
  9. How do you prove that you are prior service, I may have to start picking these rods up. I heard they are pretty popular on the gulf.
  10. Fortunately, I have a crew cab Ram and can put 7'6" rods in the cab with a little finageling. Since we are talking about the XML rods on sale I will comment on what a great rod these are. I bought the 6'2 MF BC rod on sale and it costed me $56 with shipping. I took this rod down to Georgia over the holiday weekend and it handled 3 and 4 pound LMB's with ease. That rod is definitely worth the $130 they originally asked for it, but I will definitely be buying more than one if they ever do this rediculous low price sale again---err... I mean when they do this sale again. With BPS Iwould never pay full price for a "brand rod" but the XML is definitely worth it.
  11. I use a swivel for flukes, and some crankbaits, but I use a leader to the lure to keep it from being nose heavy.
  12. When you say rig a craw backwards, do you mean rigging it on the pincer end? Or do you mean the tail end?
  13. they charge by the length of the tube, and also for an oversized item. i have paid anywhere from 10 - 20 depending on where it's going. for travel i use i use a cabelas tube, they are very nice and come with a rod purchase. for shipping i use cardboard, or pvc tubes depending on what i have. for end caps i just use tape and some cardboard if i forget to get the pvc caps.
  14. I recently picked up a Compre 6'6" MXF spinning rod, and I have to sisay it is a great rod. I do prefer Falcon Lowriders, but for a bill it is a great deal. They are sensitive and classic looking. I use mine for dropshot, weightless senkos, tubes, and shakey heads. For the price you can't go wrong. Especially for us who have to ignore the bait monkey a little more this year.
  15. Do you use a blood knot to join two lines together? And thanks for all of the input. The un-ending knowledge that is put out on this website is invaluable, and I have turned a few buddies onto this site and they feel the same.
  16. Shimano Compre 6'6" MXF w/ a Symetre 2500 spooled with 8lb. Izorline.
  17. I have a 6'6" Compre MXF it works great for shakey heads, and it's $100. I also use a 7'6" Falcon lowrider MF
  18. I have spiderwire 10lb test, what affordable brands are worth a try?
  19. My friend gave me a spool of braid, and I read here that you should use a backing on the spool. What do you use, electrical tape? Also, how long of a fluoro leader do I use and what's the best knot? I have never used braid before, but everyone on here seems to like it so I wanted to give it a try.
  20. Since I had that rod, no. use the spinning gear, or get a medium/xfast rod for weightless Senkos. Thanks, I just bought a 6'6" MXF Compre off of TW last week. I had a Avid 6'8" MXF, but broke it from top eyelet to the next....so it's about a 6'3" MF now. Is 10lb. Izorline good enough? I don't really use much heavier line than that normally.
  21. I bought Grape and Black Grape, are these good all around colors?
  22. Would an Avid 7'MHF work good for the weightless plastics, or should I use a medium rod or spinning gear? Thanks.....MOOK
  23. I bought the 6'2" M baitcast rod for $56 shipped. It is still a great deal. Thanks again.
